Abstract

Knowledge about handling sports injuries is crucial for nursing students at Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia (UPI), who actively participate in various sports activities. This study analyzes the factors influencing students' knowledge in managing injuries. The influencing factors are categorized into internal factors—such as education, experience, age, and interest—and external factors, including mass media, socio-cultural influences, economic conditions, and environmental aspects. A cross-sectional research design was employed, involving 84 nursing students from UPI. Data were collected using a 90-item questionnaire, and analysis was conducted using the t-test. The results indicate that internal and external factors significantly influence students' knowledge of handling sports injuries, with a significance level of less than 0.05 (p < 0.05). This suggests that improvements in the internal and external factors correlated with enhanced knowledge among nursing students regarding sports injury management. These findings underscore the importance of enhancing both internal and external factors to improve nursing students' capabilities in sports injury management. Conversely, a decline in these factors corresponds with diminished knowledge levels. It is recommended that further research include a larger sample size to strengthen these findings.

Abstract

Aims: This study aimed to evaluate the effectiveness of Brogandi, a combination of Broccoli and Centella asiatica, in improving the cognitive function of nursing students. Methods: A quasi-experimental pre- and post-test design was conducted involving 40 nursing students, who were divided into an intervention group (n = 20) and a control group (n = 20). Cognitive function was assessed using the Trail Making Test-B (TMT-B), Visual Recall, and Backward Digit Span. The intervention group received Brogandi supplementation at a dosage of 1000 mg twice daily for 14 days, while the control group did not receive any supplementation. Statistical analysis was performed to compare pre- and post-test results between the groups. Results: The intervention group exhibited significant improvements in cognitive performance across all tests compared to the control group. TMT-B and Backward Digit Span scores in the intervention group improved significantly (p < 0.001), and Visual Recall also showed a significant enhancement (p = 0.001). In contrast, the control group did not demonstrate significant changes in any cognitive test (p ≥ 0.248). Conclusion: The bioactive compounds in Brogandi —sulforaphane, asiaticoside, vitamin C, and vitamin E—are believed to contribute to its neuroprotective and neuroplasticity-enhancing effects. These findings suggest that Brogandi is a promising nutritional intervention for improving cognitive function, particularly in college students with high academic demands. Further research with larger and more diverse samples is needed to confirm these results and explore potential mechanisms.

Abstract

Proses penuaan mengakibatkan penurunan fungsi berbagai sistem tubuh pada orang dewasa yang lebih tua. Kualitas tidur yang buruk berdampak buruk pada keseimbangan tubuh, sehingga meningkatkan risiko jatuh pada populasi ini. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendefinisikan dengan jelas hubungan antara kualitas tidur dan risiko jatuh pada orang lanjut usia. Penelitian ini menggunakan desain cross-sectional dan melibatkan 68 orang lanjut usia dari Pusat Pelayanan Sosial Griya Lansia Ciparay, Jawa Barat. Peserta dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Kualitas tidur diukur menggunakan kuesioner Pittsburgh Sleep Quality Index (PSQI), sedangkan risiko jatuh dinilai dengan Morse Fall Scale (MFS). Analisis mengungkapkan bahwa kualitas tidur rata-rata di antara peserta buruk, sedangkan risiko jatuh dikategorikan rendah. Analisis korelasi bivariat menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara kualitas tidur dan risiko jatuh pada orang lanjut usia, dengan nilai p 0,002 (p < 0,05). Temuan menunjukkan hubungan yang signifikan antara kualitas tidur dan risiko jatuh pada populasi orang lanjut usia. Bagi Responden diharapkan agar menjaga kualitas tidur yang baik dan perlu mendapatkan edukasi tentang pencegahan jatuh untuk mengantisipasi jatuh pada lansia.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Perilaku bullying terus meningkat dengan berbagai bentuk mulai dari perundungan fisik, verbal, sosial maupun kekerasan siber. Efek yang dirasakan dapat mengakibatkan dampak jangka pendek  maupun jangka panjang yang harus segera dilakukan tindakan dalam mengatasi hal tersebut salah satunya intervensi berbasis sekolah menggunakan audiovisual yang menarik bagi siswa.  Pendidikan kesehatan melalui media edukasi audiovisual meningkatkan fungsi psikologis adaptif anak sekolah terhadap bullying di  SDIT Paripurna 3 Cimahi Selatan, Kota Cimahi. Metode yang digunakan adalah melalui penggunaan video dan cerita bergambar dengan audio yang menarik bagi para siswa sekolah dan diberikan secara langsung dan di waktu selanjutnya siswa diajak untuk melakukan diskusi terkait video tersebut. Hasil yang didapatkan 41 orang siswa mengikuti kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini dan berdasarkan hasil analisa terjadi peningkatan skor rata-rata fungsi adaptasi psikogis bullying dan pada beberapa aspek yaitu self-awareness (kesadaran diri), affiliate action (tindakan inisiasi) dan positive  expectations  about  oneself in  the  environment (harapan positif terhadap diri sendiri di lingkungan) tetapi terjadi penurunan skor self-management(manajemen diri). Kesimpulan, Pendidikan kesehatan efektif melalui penggunaan media promosi kesehatan dengan audivisual dapat meningkatkan adaptasi siswa. Rencana tindak lanjut adalah menerapkan kegiatan penggunaan media audiovisual secara berkala untuk semakin meningkatkan kemampuan adaptif para siswa dalam menghadapi bullying di sekolah dan mengurangi tindakan bystander yang diam dan tidak bertindak dan perlu dilakukan monitoring atau evaluasi secara periodik yang pelaksanaannya harus disepakati oleh petugas sekolah, orang tua, stake holder maupun siswa di sekolah. Saran. Perawat sekolah dapat menggunakan media kesehatan yang inovatif seperti penggunaan audiovisual dalam meningkatkan fungsi adaptasi psikologis bullying pada anak sekolah Kata Kunci: Adaptif Psikologis, Anak Sekolah, Audiovisual, Bullying, Edukasi    ABSTRACT Bullying behavior continues to increase in various forms, including physical, verbal, social, and cyber violence. The effects can lead to both short-term and long-term impacts, which require immediate attention. One effective approach is school-based intervention using audiovisual media that is engaging for students. Health education through audiovisual educational media helps improve the adaptive psychological function of schoolchildren in response to bullying, as seen at SDIT Paripurna 3 in Cimahi Selatan, Cimahi City. The method used involved videos and illustrated stories with audio designed to capture students' interest. These were presented directly to the students, followed by discussions about the videos. A total of 41 students participated in this community service activity, and the analysis revealed an improvement in the average score for psychological adaptation to bullying, particularly in aspects such as self-awareness, social engagement, and positive expectations about oneself in the environment. However, there was a decrease in the self-management score. In conclusion, health education through audiovisual media is an effective way to improve students' adaptation to bullying. The follow-up plan is to implement audiovisual media activities periodically to further enhance students' adaptive abilities in addressing bullying at school and reduce passive bystander behavior. Periodic monitoring or evaluation is necessary, with the implementation plan requiring the agreement of school officials, parents, stakeholders, and students. Suggestion: School nurses can utilize innovative health media, such as audiovisual tools, to improve the psychological adaptation functions of school children experiencing bullying. Keywords: Adaptive Psychological, Audiovisual, Bullying, Students, Education

Abstract

Lansia wanita merupakan kelompok usia yang rentan mengalami depresi dibandingkan lansia pria. Hal ini disebabkan karena secara alamiah depresi yang lebih sering ditemukan pada perempuan dampak dari perubahan biologis terutama hormonal serta adanya penurunan fungsi fisik, kesepian, dan tekanan ekonomi. Salah satu metode non-farmakologis yang dapat digunakan untuk mengurangi depresi adalah latihan relaksasi autogenik, yaitu teknik sugesti diri yang membantu menciptakan ketenangan fisik dan mental. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui efektivitas latihan relaksasi autogenik terhadap tingkat depresi pada lansia wanita di Lembaga Kesejahteraan Sosial Lanjut Usia Husnul Khatimah Kabupaten Bandung. Penelitian menggunakan desain quasi experimental dengan pendekatan one group pre-test post-test design dan melibatkan 31 lansia wanita yang dipilih melalui purposive sampling. Intervensi dilakukan selama enam minggu, dengan frekuensi satu kali per minggu selama 15–20 menit. Tingkat depresi diukur menggunakan Geriatric Depression Scale (GDS-15) sebelum dan sesudah intervensi. Hasil menunjukkan rata-rata skor depresi menurun dari 8,68 menjadi 3,42 setelah intervensi. Uji Wilcoxon menghasilkan nilai p = < 0,001 yang menunjukkan adanya perbedaan signifikan. Temuan ini membuktikan bahwa latihan relaksasi autogenik efektif dalam menurunkan tingkat depresi pada lansia wanita, serta dapat dijadikan intervensi yang sederhana, aman, dan mudah diterapkan secara mandiri maupun dengan pendampingan tenaga kesehatan.

Abstract

Latar Belakang: Stres akademik masih menjadi masalah umum yang dihadapi mahasiswa, terutama pada semester akhir yang ditandai dengan tekanan akademik dan emosional yang tinggi. Mahasiswa sering dihadapkan pada tenggat waktu yang ketat, tuntutan penyelesaian skripsi, serta ketidakpastian setelah lulus. Dalam situasi ini, strategi coping atau cara menghadapi stres berperan penting dalam menjaga ketahanan psikologis dan kinerja akademik mahasiswa. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengeksplorasi strategi coping yang digunakan oleh mahasiswa semester akhir dalam mengelola stres akademik, dengan menyoroti efektivitasnya dalam konteks pendidikan di Indonesia. Metode: Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan studi kasus kualitatif. Delapan mahasiswa semester akhir dari Universitas Pendidikan Indonesia dipilih sebagai partisipan melalui teknik purposive sampling. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam semi-terstruktur dan dianalisis secara tematik untuk mengidentifikasi pola coping yang dominan serta dampaknya terhadap kesejahteraan mahasiswa. Hasil: Analisis menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa menggunakan berbagai strategi coping, yaitu: (1) Problem-focused coping yang mencakup manajemen waktu, pemecahan tugas menjadi bagian-bagian kecil (chunking), dan konsultasi akademik secara rutin; (2) Emotion-focused coping seperti menulis jurnal, latihan mindfulness, dan mencari dukungan emosional; (3) Religious coping melalui ibadah dan refleksi spiritual; dan (4) Avoidance coping seperti penundaan dan penghindaran masalah. Di antara strategi tersebut, pendekatan problem-focused terbukti paling efektif dalam mengurangi stres akademik dan mempertahankan keterlibatan belajar mahasiswa. Diskusi: Temuan ini menunjukkan bahwa mahasiswa yang aktif merencanakan, mencari dukungan akademik, dan menjaga rutinitas kerja yang konsisten lebih mampu menghadapi stres akademik. Strategi emotion-focused dan religious coping membantu menjaga kestabilan emosi, sedangkan avoidance coping cenderung memperburuk tingkat stres. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya dukungan institusi pendidikan dalam membangun keterampilan coping yang adaptif dan memberikan pendampingan akademik bagi mahasiswa tingkat akhir.

Abstract

Mental disorders are among the health problems that affect all aspects of an individual's life. The rehabilitation of patients with mental disorders does not rely solely on professional services in healthcare facilities, but is also greatly influenced by family involvement. The family plays a crucial role in supporting the healing process, preventing relapse, and optimizing the patient's quality of life. Unfortunately, many families still lack an understanding of their strategic role in this process. This community service activity aims to improve families' knowledge and skills in supporting the rehabilitation of patients with mental disorders. The methods used include education, discussion, simulation, and direct family mentoring. The results showed an increase in family understanding of patient care, active involvement in behavior monitoring, and improved emotional management. Family-based interventions have proven to be an effective approach in the sustainable rehabilitation process of patients with mental disorders.

Abstract

Introduction: The global economy is affected by Indonesian migrant workers' destinations in Malaysia, Taiwan, Hong Kong, and Singapore. Poor housing and cleanliness make it hard for Indonesian workers, especially cleaning service workers, to stay healthy. Employees in the cleaning service business may not understand how to manage their health or navigate the healthcare system due to health literacy issues. Indonesian workers in Malaysia are assessed for workplace health literacy and empowerment. Addressing these issues and improving health literacy can enhance public health, eliminate health inequities, and empower people to make health decisions. Methods: The cross-sectional accidental sampling study involves 23 Indonesian workers from a prominent Malaysian university. All Indonesian workers were given a full explanation of the 15-question healthy living questionnaire. Results: 47.9% of migrant workers had sufficient knowledge, 39.1% had poor knowledge, and 13% had good knowledge. Conclusion: Poor personal hygiene affects Indonesian workers in Malaysia, focusing on workplace health knowledge and empowerment. It stresses health literacy, especially for the poor. To improve public health, reduce health inequities, and empower people to make health decisions, these concerns and health literacy initiatives are crucial.

Abstract

Pneumonia masih menjadi penyebab kematian yang signifikan, terutama pada anak usia prasekolah. Kondisi ini terjadi karena adanya penumpukan patogen di dalam alveoli yang menyebabkan terbentuknya eksudat inflamasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengevaluasi intervensi clapping pada ana kusa prasekolah dengan pneumonia. Penelitian ini dirancang sebagai studi kasus dengan menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif. Pengumpulan data dilakukan dengan wawancara, pemeriksaan fisik, observasi, dan analisis dokumentasi penelitian. Penelitian kami menghasilkan temuan yang signifikan yang menunjukkan efektivitas teknik clapping dalam membersihkan saluran napas, mengurangi akumulasi dahak, meningkatkan difusi gas, dan meringankan beban pernapasan. Teknik clapping sebagai salah satu komponen dari fisioterapi dada, memiliki potensi untuk diterapkan dalam intervensi penanganan pneumonia pada anak-anak.
