Abstract

The ever-increasing global population growth has a direct impact on residential building demand, which often does not keep pace with construction growth. This condition leads to an increase in housing density and a decrease in construction quality, which contributes to excessive heat inside homes. Therefore, this research explores the use of organic waste, specifically reeds and young coconut fiber, as environmentally friendly thermal materials to reduce dependence on artificial energy and its negative impacts. The high cellulose content in reeds and the fiber in young coconut fiber is a combination that has the potential to create an effective heat absorber. Product composition material testing was carried out using a thermogun, and the results were analyzed using the one-way Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) method. This research aims to utilize the potential of organic waste to produce insulation that can reduce heat temperatures in buildings, with the hope of finding alternative materials that are more sustainable and environmentally friendly.

Abstract

The increasing volume of waste in Indonesia, especially from households and traditional markets, necessitates innovative technological solutions for effective waste management. This study presents the development of an ergonomic organic waste shredding machine prototype, designed with a focus on safety and ease of use. By applying the Quality Function Deployment (QFD) method, user needs were translated into technical specifications using the House of Quality (HoQ). Primary data was collected through questionnaires, while anthropometric and design data were used to ensure ergonomic suitability. The results indicate that key user priorities include ease of cleaning, minimal noise, and ergonomic height. The design phase includes material selection, component acquisition, and prototype modeling. This innovation supports SDG 11: sustainable cities and communities, and SDG 12 responsible consumption and production

Abstract

PT Indonesia Wacoal is a garment company that produces underwear with several product variations: panties. Companies must always produce good quality products by maximizing production results and high productivity. However, waste becomes an obstacle to the company's performance in carrying out its production. The potential for the emergence of waste can occur in all company activities, where PT Indonesia Wacoal experienced the same thing. This study aims to identify and analyze waste that occurs in the production process of panties. The waste is defective products, transportation, excessive movement, and waiting time. The method used in this article is seven tools: the Pareto diagram and the fishbone diagram. The identification results indicate that the waste of defective products in Wolly yarn is about 211 seconds or 64.04%. In addition, there is a long process of transferring material from QC to the finished product warehouse of around 1188 seconds or 29.73%. Furthermore, excessive movement in the sewing process for 2340 seconds or 45.14% and waste due to the waiting time for the storage process to the next process is 4320 seconds or 42.40%. The identification results show several factors causing waste such as labor, machines, methods, materials and the environment.

Abstract

Abstract

The high demand for animal feed and the high price of animal feed pellets on the market are challenges faced by the community, especially chicken and catfish farmers. Providing animal feed to the community is crucial for the sustainability of chicken and catfish production. Daarul Hawariyin Islamic Boarding School is one educational institution experiencing difficulties in managing animal feed needs. Al Hikmah Islamic Boarding School still uses manufactured animal feed, resulting in significant operational costs. Therefore, the goal of this community service program is to increase knowledge about the use of BSF maggots as a source of animal feed. As part of the community service project, several selected religious teachers (ustadz) participated in capacity-building training on animal feed. Participants received questionnaires before and after the training. The questionnaires consisted of two categories: cognitive and affective. The results showed a significant difference in the cognitive category and no significant difference in the affective category.

Abstract

PT. X organizes the office promotion every year, however it has not implemented the performance appraisal concept. This study was conducted on junior analyst at Laboratory Department of Routine Test in PT.X which has the highest number of employees in PT. X. This research aimed to find out the performance appraisal criteria and sub-criteria of the junior analysts, provide the weighting for each criteria and sub-criteria using Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method, and recommend the planning framework of performance appraisal for junior analyst using Rating-Scale method in order to conduct the office promotion. The main criteria derived from this research were attendance, working target attainment, work thoroughness, proactive, empathy, cooperation (team/organization), analytical thinking, and flexibility. The result showed the working target attainment as the most important of the criterion approximately 0.248. Moreover, the consistency ratio around 0.020. In addition, the result of this research is applicable and could be proposed for conducting performance appraisal of junior analysts at Laboratory Department of PT. X in order to perform the office promotion.

Abstract

Waste collection is one of the activities that should be performed on the waste management process. This activity can pose a potentially high risk given the dangers that may arise while direct contact with the garbage and activities conducted. This study aims to identify potential risks to the health and safety of workers garbage collector. The survey uses a structured questionnaire distributed to 25 the refuse collector randomly selected in Srengseng SawahJagakarsa, South Jakarta. Descriptive statistics were used to analyze the data collected. The garbage collectors who agreed on the use of personal protective equipment at work is approximately 64% or around 16 respondents. Musculoskeletal disorders suffered by respondents is around 19 people or roughly 76%. The Respondents who suffered puncture wounds as a result of did not use gloves were 23 respondents or approximately 92%. Wrist and lower back are the most common musculoskeletal disorder that affects approximately 23 respondents. Generally, workers require personal protective equipment in order to prevent and reduce accidents. Improvement measures should be always be done such as healthy behavior, use of personal protective equipment and the development of working methods based on ergonomic principles.
