Abstract

Pelarutan selektif tembaga dari limbah printed circuit board (PCB) telah berhasil dilakukan. Logam tembaga yang terkandung di dalam papan PCB dapat dipisahkan menggunakan campuran hidrogen peroksida dan asam sulfat dengan variasi perbandingan volume 0 : 1, 1 : 1, 2 : 1, 3 : 1, 4 : 1, dan 5 : 1. Pemisahan optimal dilakukan dengan sistem perendaman selama 3 hari dengan campuran H2O2/H2SO4 = 3 : 1 (v/v). Jumlah tembaga yang terkandung di dalam papan PCB dianalisis menggunakan X-ray fluorescense. Tembaga yang terkandung di dalam PCB sebesar 57,7%. Pelarutan selektif dapat menurunkan kadar tembaga sehingga tembaga yang masih tersisa adalah sebesar 7,7 x 10-4 %. Penurunan kadar tembaga yang terkandung di dalam PCB mencapai 99,999%. Analisis spektrometri serapan atom dilakukan untuk mengetahui jumlah tembaga yang terlarut yaitu sebesar 25,415 mg/kg PCB.Leaching of Copper from Printed Circuit Board Waste with Hydrogen Peroxide. Leaching of copper from printed circuit board (PCB) waste has been successfully performed. The copper metal contained in the PCB can be separated using a mixture of hydrogen peroxide and sulfuric acid with a variation of volume ratio is 0 : 1, 1 : 1, 2 : 1, 3 : 1, 4 : 1, and 5 : 1. Optimal separation is carried out by the immersion system for 3 days using H2O2/H2SO4 = 3:1 (v/v). The amount of copper contained in the PCB was analyzed using X-ray fluorescence. The copper contained in the printed circuit board is 57.7%. The leaching process can decrease the copper content so that the remaining copper is 7.7 x 10-4%. The decrease of copper content contained in PCB reaches 99.999%. Analysis of atomic absorption spectrometry was conducted to determine the amount of dissolved copper that is 25.415 mg/kg PCB.

Abstract

The composition of waste in Indonesia is dominated by organic waste. The waste processing process must be improved to prevent pollution in the market environment. The bioconversion process using Black Soldier Fly larvae or maggots is an effective way to process organic waste. The aim of this study was to determine the effect of feeding on the initial maggot biomass to the addition of the final maggot biomass, determine the maximum maggot weight and determine substrate consumption. This quantitative research used a completely randomized design method consist of five treatments and four replications. The various feeding between total feed and larva were A treatment (270 gram: 150 gram), B (210 gram : 150 gram), C (150 gram : 150 gram), D ( 90 gram : 150 gram) and E ( 30 gram : 150 gras). The data analysis technique used variance test and Duncan’s mean difference test. The result showed that the addition of coconut pulp feed affects to the final weight of the maggot and the value of substrate consumption. The addition of coconut dregs feed which maximally affects to the final weight of the maggot showed in A treatment which ratio coconut dregs: larva (270 gram : 150 gram). The A treatment gave an average final weight of maggot 195 grams in 18 days. The maximum reduction of coconut dregs in the bioconversion process was observed in treatment E with a substrate consumption value of 55%.

Abstract

ABSTRAKPenyebarannya Covid-19 yang cepat dan belum tersedianya vaksin menjadikan pemerintah dan masyarakat harus sigap dan waspada dalam mencegah penularan virus tersebut. Masker dan face shield disarankan untuk digunakan sebagai APD dalam mencegah penularannya. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk memberikan edukasi kesehatan dan pembagian produk hasil kepada masyarakat. Pengabdian masyarakat ini dilakukan dalam bentuk pembagian produk masker, face shield; serta pemberian edukasi pada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya penggunaan masker dan face shield; serta pembagian flyer petunjuk pembuatan face shield dari bahan-bahan sederhana. Kegiatan dilakukan pada 51 masyarakat di RW 07 lingkungan Cilolohan Kecamatan Tawang, Kota Tasikmalaya dengan berbagai rentang usia. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini memberikan hasil dalam bentuk pemberian produk dan kontribusi dalam bentuk edukasi kesehatan kepada masyarakat. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa rata-rata respon masyarakat, 86.3% responden sangat setuju bahwa penggunaan masker dan face shield dapat mencegah penularan COVID-19. Kata Kunci: COVID-19, edukasi, face shield ABSTRACTThe rapid spread and the unavailability of vaccines have made the government and the public to be alert and vigilant in preventing the virus transmission. Masks and face shields are recommended to be used as PPE to prevent the virus transmission. The aims of this community services were to provided health education and distibuted the product to the community. The activities was carried out in the form of distribution of masks, face shields, and herbal products; providing education to the public regarding the importance of using masks and face shields; and distribution flyers of instructions for making face shields from simple ingredients. The activity was carried out in 51 communities in RW 07, Cilolohan, Kecamatan Tawang, Tasikmalaya with various age ranges. This community service activity provided health products and contributed in health education to the community. It can be concluded that  86.3% of people agreed that the use of masks and face shields can prevent the transmission of COVID-19. Keywords: COVID-19, education, face shield

Abstract

Abstrak: Angka kejadian Covid-19 di Indonesia sudah mulai menurun, Namun, kita tidak boleh lengah terhadap protokol kesehatan yang sudah diterapkan dengan baik. Upaya preventif harus tetap dijalankan, bahkan harus lebih maksimal. Upaya preventif yang diusung adalah selalu menjaga kebersihan tangan menggunakan sabun cuci tangan dan meningkatkan keterampilan kader dan warga dalam membuat sabun cuci tangan. Tujuan kegiatan yaitu agar warga memahami pentingnya mencuci tangan pakai sabun dan membuat sabun cuci tangan secara mandiri di rumah masing-masing. Metode pelaksanaan dilakukan dengan cara workshop dan penyuluhan. Evaluasi kegiatan dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Sasaran kegiatan adalah 18 kader PKK dan warga Cikalanggirang Tasikmalaya. Hasil kegiatan yang telah dicapai adalah menunjukkan peningkatan nilai rata-rata (mean) pengetahuan dari hasil pengisian Quosioner sebelum kegiatan yaitu 75,46 dan setelah kegiatan menjadi 94,44. Berdasarkan hasil uji statistik T berpasangan diperoleh nilai p-value (0.000) < α (0.05). Hal ini menunjukan terdapat perbedaan rata-rata yang signifikan antara nilai skor kuesioner peserta sebelum dan sesudah kegiatan. Hal ini membuktikan bahwa pemberian pelatihan dapat meningkatkan pengetahuan dan pemahaman peserta dalam membuat sabun cuci tangan.Abstract: Although the number of Covid-19 cases in Indonesia has begun to decline, we must not lose sight of the health protocols that have been properly implemented. Preventive efforts must continue to be made, but at a higher level. Hand hygiene should always be maintained with the use of hand soap, and cadres and residents' skills in making hand soap should be improved. The goal of the activity is for residents to understand the importance of washing their hands with soap and making their own hand soap at home. Workshops and counseling are used to carry out the implementation method. Activities are evaluated both before and after they are completed. The activity's target was 18 PKK cadres and Cikalanggirang Tasikmalaya residents. The results of the completed activities show an increase in the average value (mean) of knowledge from the results of filling out the questionnaire prior to the activity, which was 75.46, to 94.44 after the activity. Based on the results of the paired T statistical test, the p-value (0.000) < (0.05). This shows that there is a significant average difference between the participants' questionnaire scores before and after the activity. This proves that the provision of training can increase the knowledge and understanding of participants in making hand soap.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Kebutuhan masyarakat pada dasarnya terdiri dari kebutuhan primer, sekunder dan tersier. Selain kebutuhan makan dan tempat tinggal, sabun juga dibutuhkan untuk menunjang aktivitas sehari-hari dapat dianggap sebagai kebutuhan primer. Sabun dapat menghilangkan kotoran dan minyak karena struktur kimia sabun terdiri bagian yang bersifat hidrofil pada rantai ionnya dan bersifat hidrofobil pada rantai karbonnya. karena adanya rantai hidrokarbon, sebuah molekul sabun secara keseluruhan tidaklah benar-benar larut dalam air. Untuk memberikan pengetahuan dan keterampilan mengenai pembuatan sabun cuci piring kepada masyarakat Desa Sirnaputra, Kecamatan Cigalontang, Kabupaten Tasikmalaya, Jawa Barat. Penyuluhan berupa pemaparan materi mengenai cara pembuatan sabun cuci piring menggunakan power point, demonstrasi dan praktik. Kegiatan workshop pembuatan sabun cuci piring di Desa Sirnaputa Tasikmalaya dapat berjalan dengan lancar dengan diikuti oleh sekitar 17 peserta. Dari hasil evaluasi dapat dilihat adanya pemahaman yang baik peserta dalam kegiatan workshop pembuatan sabun cuci piring. Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, Penyuluhan, Sabun Cuci Piring  ABSTRACT Basically, the community needs consist of primary, secondary, and tertiary needs. In addition to food and shelter, soap is also needed to support daily activities and can be considered an immediate need. Soap can remove dirt and oil because the chemical structure of soap consists of a hydrophilic part in the ionic chain and a hydrophobic part in the carbon chain. Due to the presence of a hydrocarbon chain, a soap molecule as a whole is not completely soluble in water. to provide knowledge and skills regarding the manufacture of dish soap to the people of Sirnaputra Village, Cigalontang District, Tasikmalaya Regency, West Java. The providing information in the form of material presented on how to make dish soap using power points, demonstrations, and practices. The workshop for making dish soap in Sirnaputa Village, Tasikmalaya ran smoothly and was attended by around 17 participants. Abstract

Abstrak: Yoghurt merupakan produk minuman fermentasi yang berbahan dasar susu sapi dan kaya akan gizi serta nutrisi yang dapat meningkatkan derajat kesehatan tubuh. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk memberikan informasi dan pengetahuan kepada masyarakat mengenai manfaat konsumsi yoghurt dan cara pembuatannya sehingga masyarakat dapat menerapkan ilmunya dengan mudah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dalam upaya meningkatkan derajat kesehatan masyarakat. Pelaksana kegiatan ini adalah 17 mahasiswa KKN dan 2 orang dosen pembimbing, serta peserta yang hadir adalah 20 warga Dusun Cipahayan. Media yang digunakan yaitu berupa pemaparan materi mengenai manfaat konsumsi yoghurt dan cara pembuatannya melalui power point, demonstrasi dan praktik. Tehnik evaluasi yang digunakan adalah pengisian kuesioner tingkat pemahaman dari peserta tentang kegiatan yang dilakukan. Kegiatan ini dinilai memiliki dampak positif karena berdasarkan evaluasi jangka pendek terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat (sekitar 80%) Dusun 1 Pacihayan Desa Sirnaputra Kec. Cigalontang mengenai manfaat konsumsi yoghurt dan cara pembuatannya.Abstract: Yogurt is a fermented beverage product made from cow's milk, it is rich in nutrients and nutrients that can improve the health of the body. This activity aims to provide information and knowledge to the public regarding the benefits of consuming yogurt and how to make it so that people can easily apply their knowledge in everyday life in an effort to improve public health. The organizers of this activity were 17 students and 2 lecturers as supervisors, and the participants who attended were 20 participants. The media used is in the form of material presentations about the benefits of consuming yogurt and how to make it through power points, demonstrations, and practices. The evaluation technique used is filling out a questionnaire on the level of understanding of the participants about the activities carried out. This activity is considered to have a positive impact because based on a short-term evaluation there is an increase in community knowledge and abilities (about 80%) Dusun 1 Pacihayan, Sirnaputra Village, Kec. Cigalontang about the benefits of consuming yogurt and how to make it.

Abstract

Secara empiris, daun trembesi memberikan aktivitas sebagai antidiare, penelitian sebelumnya terbukti bahwa daun trembesi memberikan aktivitas terhadap E.coli. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menentukan aktivitas antibakteri ekstrak etanol daun trembesi terhadap Shigella dysenteriae, nilai konsentrasi hambat minimal(KHM) dan propil KLT-Bioautografinya. Metode yang digunakan yaitu difusi cakram dengan konsentrasi uji aktivitas ekstrak etanol nya yaitu 10%, DMSO sebagai kontrol negatif, ciprofloksasin sebagai kontrol positif, konsentrasi hambat minimal (KMH) yaitu 4%,3%,2%,1%, monitoring senyawa golongan yang memberikan aktivitas antibakteri menggunakan KLT-Bioautogfi dan monitoring senyawa golongan metabolit sekunder sebagai antibakteri menggunakan KLT-Bioautografi.  Hasil penelitian menunjukan bahwa ekstrak etanol daun trembesi memiliki aktivitas antibakteri terhadap Shigella dysenteriae dengan kategori kuat (29,1±3,12 mm), nilai konsentrasi hambat minimal (KHM) yang dihasilkan yaitu 1% dengan diameter zona bening nya yaitu 0,1±0,05 mm, dan hasil KLT-Bioautografi terdapat zona bening pada spot dengan nilai RF 0,7 dengan diameter zona beningnya yaitu 1,36 mm. Ekstrak etanol daun trembesi memberikan aktivitas antibakteri dimana senyawa golongan fenolik diduga merupakan senyawa yang berkontribusi terhadap aktivitas tersebut.

Abstract

Currently, antibiotics are considered environmental pollutants because of their undesirable effects on human health and the environment, including the waste of antibiotics tetracycline hydrochloride. While on the other hand, bagasse is an agricultural waste that has no economic value. This study aims to study the characteristics of activated charcoal from bagasse and the use of bagasse as chitosan-modified activated charcoal using the column method to determine the variation of adsorbent height, flow rate, and acidity of the solution in the ability of the bagasse adsorbent to adsorb tetracycline hydrochloride. Bagasse goes through a carbonation process using a furnace at a temperature of 350°C until charcoal is formed. The next process is activation using 2 M phosphoric acids and compared based on SNI 06-3730-1995 regarding technically activated charcoal. Determination of functional groups using Fourier Transform Infra-Red, adsorbent morphology using Scanning Electron Microscope, and crystallinity using X-Ray Diffraction. The concentration of tetracycline hydrochloride before and after adsorption was measured using an Ultra Violet-Visible spectrophotometer. The best absorption results in the adsorption process were found at the adsorbent height of 14 cm (99%), the flow rate of 0.5mL/minute (92%), and pH 4 (93%).

Abstract

The use of activated charcoal from sawdust as an adsorbent of tetracycline hydrochloride compounds has been successfully carried out. Sawdust activated charcoal was carbonized at 450°C for 40 minutes with a charcoal size of 100 mesh and activated using H3PO4 solution. The characteristics of active sawdust charcoal showed that water content, iodine adsorption, and methylene blue adsorption had met SNI 06-3730-1995 regarding technical activated charcoal. Testing the morphology of charcoal using a Scanning Electron Microscope showed that the charcoal pores were opened through the activation process. In the functional group analysis test using infrared spectroscopy, the active group contained in charcoal after being activated contained carbon atoms that were purer than sawdust. The adsorption process of tetracycline hydrochloride using sawdust activated charcoal is known to follow Ho orPseudo second-order (K = 0.0039 g/mg.min), while the adsorption isotherm follows the Langmuir equation, KL = 0.0076 L/mg and adsorption capacity amounting to 242.1307 mg/g. Thermodynamically, the adsorption process occurs not spontaneously with a Gibbs free energy value of 120.8949 kJ/mol and occurs by chemisorption.

Abstract

Excessive use of tetracycline hydrochloride can cause water pollution. The concentration of tetracycline hydrochloride in an aqueous solution can be reduced by an adsorption method that utilizes activated charcoal as an adsorbent. This study aims to determine the effect of the addition of chitosan on the characteristics of activated charcoal, the effect of pH, adsorption kinetics, the adsorption isotherm, and the effect of sonication on adsorption ability. The method used in this research is the batch method combined with the sonication method. Based on this research, it is known that the use of ultrasonic waves (sonication) can streamline the adsorption process of tetracycline hydrochloride. The time required for the adsorption process is faster with greater adsorption capacity and efficiency. Tetracycline solution can be absorbed optimally at an acidic pH, which is pH 4. The adsorption process using the sonication method can increase the adsorption capacity from 2.092 mg.g-1 to 5.330 mg.g-1. The adsorption mechanism in both methods (batch and sonication) that occurs follows the kinetic equation of the two Ho pessaries. In contrast to adsorption kinetics, the adsorption isotherm for the batch method corresponds to the Langmuir adsorption isotherm equation (R2 = 0.950), while the use of the sonication method corresponds to the Freundlich isotherm equation (R2 = 0.859).  Thus, corn cob waste can be utilized by converting it into activated charcoal modified by chitosan as an adsorbent for antibiotic waste, especially tetracycline hydrochloride.
