Abstract

THE ROLE OF CHEMICAL REACTION IN THE BODY EDUCATION FOR EARLY CHILDHOOD IN KOBER AL-MUJAHIDIN. The essence of Early Childhood Education (PAUD) is education that organized with the aim of facilitating the growth and development of children as a whole, emphasizing on the development of all aspects of the child's personality. The PAUD program must focus on all aspects of child development according to the interests, needs, and abilities of the child. In addition, development programs should instill and foster behavior and attitude development through good habits. Science learning can be used as a medium to stimulate developmental aspects and maximize children's potential. This Community Service Program was held at Kober Al Mujahidin, Pangandaran Regency. This activity aims to introduce body organs and provide education about the role of chemical reactions in the body for early childhood. This community Service Program was carried out through three stages, namely the preparation stage (survey & observation), implementation and evaluation stages. The results showed that the implementation program can increase students' understanding in recognizing the chemical processes that occur in their bodies. School partners also gain experience contextual learning materials for early childhood students in an interactive and fun way.

Abstract

SOCIALIZATION AND EDUCATION OF HERBAL MEDICINE AT SIRNAPUTRA TASIKMALAYA. Plants have been used as a source of food, clothing, and medicine from the time of our ancestors. Knowledge of medicinal plants and their evolution from forests and yards should receive special consideration. For rural communities to maintain their health, locals often choose this nutrient-rich plant. The benefits include the fact that therapeutic plants are chemical-free, affordable, simple to grow, and safe. The problem is the lack of public knowledge about the benefits and how to mobilize medicinal plants so that land use for TOGA is still rarely found. Based on these problems, the solution offered is in the form of socialization and education activities about family medicinal plants. The activities that have been carried out, can increase the insight and knowledge of the community in the use of plants as medicine and how to use them.

Abstract

Abstrak: Jahe (Zingiber officinale R) dan kunyit (Curcuma domestica) termasuk dalam suku Zingiberaceae yang dapat digunakan sebagai imunomodulator karena mengandung senyawa kimia gingerol dan curcumin. Tanaman jahe dan kunyit dapat dibuat menjadi sediaan herbal berupa serbuk agar memudahkan dalam mengkonsumsi dan rasanya pun lebih nikmat untuk dinikmati. Kegiatan dilakukan di dusun Kadugede, kecamatan Cigalontang, kabupaten Tasikmalaya. Lokasi tersebut merupakan lokasi yang jauh dari perkotaan serta kondisi lingkungan yang masih rendah dalam pendidikan. Kegiatan ini bertujuan untuk mengedukasi masyarakat mengenai pembuatan serbuk jahe atau kunyit dan mengajak masyarakat untuk menjaga sistem imun tubuh dengan mengkonsumsi sediaan herbal dari jahe atau kunyit yang sudah diolah menjadi serbuk. Tahapan yang dilakukan, yaitu perizinan kepada kepala desa, pelaksanaan kegiatan berupa penyampaian materi, dan evaluasi. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini dipandang mempunyai efek yang sangat baik. Berdasarkan hasil kuesioner, peserta penyuluhan menyatakan bahwa materi yang disajikan sangat sesuai (62%), penyampaian materi sangat jelas (65%), cara penyampaian materi sangat menarik (62%), dan sangat paham terhadap materi yang disampaikan (54%). Dengan demikian, masyarakat menjadi paham mengenai pentingnya menjaga sistem imun, jenis obat tradisional, tanaman sebagai imunomodulator, dan mengetahui cara pembuatan sediaan serbuk herbal jahe dan kunyit sehingga dapat dipraktekan di rumah dan hasil kuesioner menunjukkan sangat perlu dilakukan kegiatan lanjutan seperti workshop pembuatan serbuk jahe dan kunyit yang lebih intensif serta peningkatan produk sehingga produk layak jual dan bisa membantu dalam meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat.Abstract: Ginger (Zingiber officinale R) and turmeric (Curcuma domestica) belong to the Zingiberaceae family which can be used as immunomodulators because they contain chemical compounds gingerol and curcumin. Ginger and turmeric plants can be made into herbal preparations in the form of powders to make them easier to consume and the taste is even more enjoyable to enjoy. The activity was carried out in Kadugede hamlet, Cigalontang sub-district, and Tasikmalaya district. This location is a location far from urban areas and environmental conditions that are still low in education. This activity aims to educate the public about the manufacture of ginger or turmeric powder and invite the public to maintain the body's immune system by consuming herbal preparations from ginger or turmeric that have been processed into a powder. The stages carried out were licensing to the village head, implementing activities in the form of delivering material, and evaluating. This community service activity is seen as having a very good effect. Based on the results of the questionnaire, the counseling participants stated that the material presented was very appropriate (62%), the delivery of the material was very clear (65%), the method of delivery of the material was very interesting (62%), and they understood the material presented very well (54%). Thus, the community understands the importance of maintaining the immune system, types of traditional medicines, plants as immunomodulators, and knows how to make ginger and turmeric herbal powder preparations so that they can be practiced at home and the results of the questionnaire indicate that further activities are urgently needed such as workshops on making ginger powder and more intensive turmeric and product improvement so that the product is worth selling and can help in improving the community's economy.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Masalah utama diberbagai negara terkait kesehatan adalah penyakit jantung Dan pembuluh darah. Penderita hipertensi terus meningkat setiap tahunnya. Diperkirakan pada tahun 2025, 1,5 miliar orang akan mengalami tekanan darah tinggi yang diprediksikan terjadi setiap tahun 14,04 juta orang telah meninggal karena tekanan darah tinggi dan komplikasinya. Tujuan kegiatan Pengabdian Masyarakat ini yaitu untuk meningkatkan pengetahuan masyarakat terhadap faktor penyebab dan pencegahan yang berhubungan dengan hipertensi. Penyebaran media informasi obat melalui media dan hasil evaluasi melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Media yang digunakan yaitu brosur mengenai Pemberian Informasi Obat (PIO) dan Komunikasi Informasi Edukasi (KIE). Hasil keseluruhan tingkat pemahaman terhadap materi yang disampaikan lebih dari 94% peserta menjawab sengat paham dalam kuesioner evaluasi kegiatan dan 6% peserta memiliki pemahaman materi menjawab paham. Kegiatan dinilai memiliki dampak yang positif berdasarkan evaluasi jangka pendek terdapat peningkatan pengetahuan dan kemampuan masyarakat Desa Sirnaputra Kec. Cigalontang. Kata Kunci: Hipertensi, PIO, Tekanan Darah  ABSTRACT The main problem in various countries related to health is the heart and blood vessel disease. Patients with hypertension continue to increase every year. It is estimated that in 2025, 1.5 billion people will experience high blood pressure which is predicted to occur every year 14.04 million people have died due to high blood pressure and its complications. The purpose of community service is to increase public knowledge of the causes and prevention factors related to hypertension. Dissemination of drug information media through the media and evaluation results through the dissemination of questionnaires. The media used are brochures regarding the Provision of Drug Information (PIO) and Educational Information Communication (IEC). The results of the overall level of understanding of the material presented were more than 94% of participants answered very well in the activity evaluation questionnaire and 6% of participants had an understanding of the material and answered understanding. Abstract

Problems arising from laboratory waste include the content of lead metal ions in it, which can affect health. While on the other hand, Jengkol peel is a market waste and has no economic value. Jengkol peel contains hydroxyl groups and carboxylates to bind heavy metals such as lead (II) ions. So, this study aims to determine the effect of variations in flow rate, adsorbent height, and solution acidity and determine the ability of Jengkol peel in adsorbing lead (II) ions in the laboratory liquid by the column method. Organic groups that include active sides can be removed using 1N sodium hydroxide to increase the adsorption ability. Sodium hydroxide functions to dissolve lignin in lignocellulose compounds so that carboxylic groups are formed in cellulose, which has a role in binding metal ions. The determination of functional groups was carried out by Fourier-transform Infrared Spectroscopy. The identification of the adsorbent morphology was carried out by Scanning Electron Microscope. The adsorption of lead (II) ions by Jengkol peel was determined by calculating the difference between the lead (II) ions in the solution after and before passing through the column. The amount of lead metal remaining in solution was determined using Atomic Absorption Spectroscopy. Sodium hydroxide solution with a concentration of 1N can separate lignin from cellulose contained in lignocellulose to enhance the bio-sorbent ability of the Jengkol peel in binding metal ions. The smaller the flow rate in the column, the higher the amount of lead (II) ions adsorbed in the bio-sorbent. The acidity of the solution has the best adsorption at pH 5. The metal ions from the simulation sample can reduce the number of lead (II) metal ions adsorbed by 11%.

Abstract

Oriented Polypropylene (OPP) plastic is a thermoplastic polymer that is widely used for the benefit of plastic product packaging in the pharmaceutical, cigarette, shampoo, detergent, textile, food, and beverage industries. OPP plastic has a high coefficient of thermal expansion, is susceptible to UV degradation, has poor resistance to solvents, is difficult to paint due to poor bonding properties, is highly flammable, susceptible to oxidation, and difficult to decompose naturally when it becomes waste. This study aimed to determine the ability of the Hong Kong caterpillar to degrade OPP plastic waste. This research method used a completely randomized design consisting of 4 treatments and 3 replications. The various treatments given were OPP 0.23 g for 120 caterpillars (V0); OPP 0.17 g: Bran 0.23 g for 120 caterpillars (V1); OPP 0.11 g: Bran 0.23 g for 120 caterpillars (V2); and OPP 0.06 g: Bran 0.23 g for 120 caterpillars (V3). The results showed that the feeding of OPP and rice bran affected the degradation rate of OPP plastic. The highest percent degradation value was obtained in the V3 treatment at 50% and the most optimal biodegradation rate occurred in the V1 treatment of 0.02 mg/day.

Abstract

Banyak cara upaya yang sudah dilakukan dalam penanganan penyebaran Covid 19 salah satunya yang sekarang sudah mulai diberikan secara bertahap adalah dengan program vaksinasi. Tetapi hal ini tidak cukup kita tetap tidak boleh lengah dan tetap wajib menjalankan protokol kesehatan pola hidup  bersih  dan  menjaga  protokol  kesehatan  3M  harus  tetap berjalan salah satunya adalah dengan selalu membiasakan diri mencuci tangan.  Langkah ini  bertujuan  agar kasus baru dan penyebaran Covid 19 bisa dihentikan. Dalam upaya itu, dosen dilingkungan STIKes Bakti Tunas Husada Tasikmalaya melaksanakan Kegiatan pengabdian kepada masyarakat yang dimaksudkan memberikan perspektif lain dalam usaha pencegahan dari  penularan  virus.  Salahsatunya  adalah  dengan  menjaga kebersihan diri dengan membiasakan mencuci tangan yang dimulai dengan memproduksi sabun cuci tangan yang berstandar SNI dan mendistribusikannya di lingkungan sekitar kampus di daerah Cilolohan dengan disertai penjelasan mengenai pentingnya cuci tangan di masa pandemik sekarang ini. Kegiatan ini bisa memberikan dampak yang baik kepada masyarakat mengenai pentingnya kebiasaan mencuci tangan sehingga wawasan masyarakat akan hal ini bisa ditingkatkan dan dapat membantu program pemerintah baik secara langsung maupun tidak langsung dalam upaya pencegahan penyebaran covid 19 khususnya di lingkungan masyarakat sekitar daerah Cilolohan.

Abstract

Cancer is a disease characterized by cells forming abnormally so that a buildup can cause lumps. Drug compounds used for anticancer treatment by chemotherapy become a severe problem because they have dangerous side effects and can affect patient’s quality of life. This study aims to discover new drug compounds with lowered toxicity effects. This was achieved by modifying their structures through synthesis, characterization, and estimating the interactions of the synthesized compounds with specific target receptors, utilizing a docking method. The result obtained was a synthesis yield of 36.2%. The characterization of complex compounds was characterized by the presence of a maximum wavelength of 273 nm and a molecular weight of 652 g/mmol, indicating the absorption of Co-O and Co-S at respective wavenumbers of 498 cm-1 and 604 cm- 1. The docking results showed that the Bis-(1-(3-Chlorobenzoyl)-3-Phenylthiourea) Cobalt (III) complex had the best activity on human estrogen receptor alpha (hER alpha) with a binding affinity value of - 9.40 kcal/mol and an inhibition constant of 0.129 M, which was lower than the comparison compound (cisplatin) and had a better pharmacokinetic profile than cisplatin. This study shows that the Bis-(1-(3-Chlorobenzoyl)-3-Phenylthiourea) Cobalt (III) complex is predicted to have potential as an anticancer candidate.

Abstract

Mikroalga merah diketahui mengandung senyawa fenolat, karotenoid, fikobiliprotein, dan klorofil yang mampu mendonorkan atom hidrogennya pada radikal bebas. Warna merah pada alga dihasilkan oleh pigmen karotenoid dengan salah satu turunannya adalah β-karoten. Tujuan penelitian ini yaitu untuk mengetahui aktivitas antiradikal bebas dari senyawa β-karoten yang terkandung dalam mikroalga merah. β-karoten diekstrasksi dengan cara maserasi kemudian dilakukan analisis kualitatif dengan menggunakan KLT dan FTIR, pengujian aktivitas antiradikal bebas dilakukan dengan pengujian dengan menggunakan DPPH. Hasil KLT menunjukan senyawa β-karoten yang dielusi dengan menggunakan pelarut aseton dan etil asetat (3:7) memiliki nilai Rf 0,8 dan pada FTIR menunjukkan senyawa β-karoten memiliki gugus hidroksil, karbonil, alkana, alkohol, dan aromatik. Aktivitas antiradikal bebas pada senyawa β-karoten  memiliki nilai IC50 sebesar 267,375 ppm yang dikategorikan lemah.
