Abstract

Career planning is a series of jobs, titles and positions that are carried out throughout life and seem to be very beneficial for life. Career also means the status of a job level or position as a source of income, whether in the form of a main livelihood or a side income. The aim of this research is to test the effectiveness of group guidance services to improve future career planning for children fostered at the Aisyiyah Putra Bukittinggi orphanage. The researcher used a pre-experimental research method approach, one group pre-test post-test. The population in the study were foster children at the Aisyiyah Putra Bukittinggi orphanage who did not yet have an understanding of planning for the future. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon Rank Test. The instrument used is the questionnaire. Wilcoxom Rank Test analysis shows a value of 0.028 which is lower than 0.05. So it is concluded that the application of group guidance services to the future career planning of the foster children at the Aisyiyah Putra Bukittinggi orphanage is increasing and being provided effectively.

Abstract

This research started from the fact that there were some children at the Aisyiyah Putra Bukittinggi Orphanage who were shy when communicating with the environment, especially with people they had just met, then there were some children who preferred to be alone in their room rather than hanging out with others, and also There are some children who are insecure about their status and children who are introverted. When asked, they prefer to avoid and answer briefly, so these children can be said to lack self-confidence. Researchers tried to apply group guidance to increase the self-confidence of children in the orphanage. This research aims to reduce feelings of inferiority and increase children's self-confidence. The method used in this research is pre-experiment, one group pre-test, post-test. The subjects in this research were children at the Aisyiyah Putra Bukittinggi Orphanage who lacked self-confidence based on the results of observations. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon rank test. The instrument used in this research is a measurement scale in the form of a questionnaire. The results of the research were seen from the implementation of the pre-test and post-test with an increase in each child. Analysis of the Wilcoxon signed rank test shows that the value of 0.018 is lower than 0.05, so it can be concluded that there is an increase in self-confidence through group guidance at the Aisyiyah Putra Bukittinggi Orphanage.

Abstract

This research started from the fact that there were some students at SMPN 2 Bukittinggi in class 8.1 who were still looking at their friends when doing their assignments, then there were some students who submitted their assignments not on time, then there were some students who when working in groups did not participate enough in doing the group assignments, Then there are also some students who are late for class in the learning process, and there are some students who, when asked a question, are still confused about the answer and need the help of a friend next to their seat. Researchers try to apply classical guidance to increase students' learning independence. This research aims to reduce the lack of independence in students' learning. The method used in this research is pre-experiment, one group pre-test, post-test. The subjects in this research were students at SMPN 2 Bukittinggi class 8.1 who lacked learning independence based on observation results. The data analysis technique uses the Wilcoxon rank test. The instrument used in this research is a measurement scale in the form of a questionnaire. Abstract

Indonesia has cultural diversity, but currently, it is found that many students still need to gain more awareness of cultural diversity. This will have an impact on the ineffectiveness of daily life. This research aims to determine the application of symbolic modeling techniques containing syair gulung to increase students' awareness of cultural diversity. The art of syair gulung has many moral messages, including the value of unity, respect for differences, care, and tolerance. The research design used pure experimentation with a one-group pretest-posttest model. The research subjects were junior high school students in Pontianak City, with an age range of 12 years to 14 years. The instrument used is the cultural diversity awareness scale. Data were analyzed through parametric statistics with hypothesis testing using the paired sample t-test to compare treatment results. The research results show that symbolic modelling techniques based on the art of syair gulung can increase students' awareness of cultural diversity. The results of this research enrich the scientific knowledge of multicultural counselling for counsellors in schools. This research recommends that it can be applied to other psychological aspects and collaborate with the culture in Indonesia. The research results recommend that guidance and counseling teachers apply the results of this research in their schools. Further researchers are advised to conduct research using symbolic modeling techniques with local culture in Indonesia.

Abstract

Honesty is an innate disposition that is crucial to practise in our daily lives. Nevertheless, there are individuals who exhibit dishonest behaviour, as evidenced by the occurrence among students at SMP N 6 Bukittinggi. This behaviour is characterised by various symptoms, including students disregarding exam rules by seeking answers from their peers, making incorrect payments for snacks in the canteen, falsely excusing themselves to the teacher to go to the toilet while their snacks are actually in the school canteen, and so forth. This study falls under the category of Pre-Experimental Design research, specifically the One Group Pretest and Posttest Design model, which does not include a comparison group or randomisation. The research focused on individuals in the eighth grade. The study sample included 10 individuals selected by purposive sampling approach. Data was gathered with an instrument equipped with a Likert scale to assess the level of honesty shown by pupils. This study seeks to examine the impact of the administered therapy on the dependent variable. The data analysis methodology employs the method of hypothesis testing, specifically the Wilcoxon signed ranks test. The statistical test results obtained from the sig (2-tailed) value are 0.005, which is less than the alpha level of 0.05. Therefore, we can conclude that the null hypothesis (Ho) is rejected and the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted. This implies that individual counselling services have a significant impact on the development of honest behaviour among students at SMP Negeri 6 Bukittinggi.

Abstract

This research was motivated by a phenomenon that occurred among students at SMP Negeri 1 Solok, where it was indicated that some students had difficulty controlling themselves to have a hedonistic behavior, and it was indicated that some students were influenced by peers who had a hedonistic behavior. This research aims to determine the relationship between self-control and hedonistic behavior, determine the relationship between peer conformity and hedonistic behavior and to determine the relationship between self-control and peer conformity and hedonistic behavior in class VIII students at SMP Negeri 1 Solok. This research uses a quantitative approach with a correlation type. The population in this study was class VIII students, totaling 89 students with indications of hedonistic behavior obtained from the results of a simple questionnaire. The sampling technique in this research used a total sampling technique by taking the entire population, namely 89 students. The instruments used in this research were the Hedonistic Behavior measurement scale, the Self-Control measurement scale and the Peer Conformity measurement scale. Data analysis used to test the research hypothesis is the multiple correlation test. The results of this study show that self-control (X1) with hedonistic behavior (Y) has a significant relationship with a value of 0.000 <0.05 and interpretation is in the medium category with a value of 0.448. Furthermore, peer conformity (X2) with hedonistic behavior (Y) has a significant relationship with a value of 0.000 <0.05 and interpretation is in the medium category with a value of 0.553. Furthermore, self-control (X1) and peer conformity (X2) are simultaneously and significantly related to the probability value (sig. F change) = 0.000 < 0.05 on hedonistic behavior (Y), and a correlation coefficient value is obtained in the strong category with a value of 0.673 .

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatar belakangi dengan adanya fenomena yang terjadi pada siswa di MAN Kota Pariaman. Terindikasi beberapa siswa yang kesulitan menghadapi dan menyelesaikan tugas yang diberikan guru dengan baik dikarenakan terindikasi mengalami prokrastinasi akademik serta terindikasi kurang mendapat dukungan dari orang tuanya dirumah dan terindikasi melakukan prokrastinasi atau menunda dalam mengerjakan tugas sekolahnya. Hasil penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa: (1) terdapat pengaruh dan signifikan dari variabel locus of control (X1) terhadap prokrastinasi akademik (Y) dengan diperoleh nilai signifikansi 0,001< 0,05 dan tingkat persentase sebesar 11,4%. (2) terdapat pengaruh dan signifikan dari variabel dukungan orang tua (X2) terhadap prokrastinasi akademik (Y) dengan diperoleh nilai signifikan 0,015 < 0.05 dan tingkat persentase sebesar 6,3%. (3) terdapat pengaruh yang signifikan dari locus of control (X1) dan dukungan orang tua (X2) secara bersama-sama terhadap prokrastinasi akademik dengan nilai signifikan sebesar 0,000 < 0,05 dan tingkat persentase sebesar 16,6%. Diharapkan penelitian ini dapat menjadi acuan bagi konselor untuk dapat mengembangkan pendekatan atau model-model bimbingan dan konseling yang berkaitan dengan prokrastinasi akademik,locus of control dan dukungan orang tua.

Abstract

Masih lemahnya karakter gemar membaca mahasiswa di perguruan tinggi, hal ini ditunjukkan dengan minimnya referensi mahasiswa dalam perkuliahan, sedikit sekali yang meminjam buku di perpustakaan dan mahasiswa lebih memilih bermain media sosial daripada membaca ebook atau artikel. Padahal, Pendidikan tidak hanya berfungsi sebagai pengembangan pengetahuan, pendidikan mestinya juga meningkatkan budi pekerti (karakter), salah satunya karakter gemar membaca. Untuk itu dalam penelitian ini ditawarkan model pembelajaran literasi untuk penguatan karakter gemar membaca mahasiswa. Dilihat dari hasil hipotesis angka probabilitas Asmyp. Sig. (2-tailed) sebesar 0.001 atau probabilitas di bawah alpha (0.000 < 0.05), dengan perbedaan rerata skor pretest dan posttest sebesar 8.611, H1 diterima dan H0 ditolak yang berarti terdapat peningkatan karakter gemar membaca mahasiswa UIN Bukittinggi setelah diberikan model pembelajaran literasi. The weak character of reading for students in tertiary institutions, this is indicated by the lack of student references in lectures, very few borrow books from the library and students prefer to use social media instead of reading ebooks or articles. In fact, education does not only function as the development of knowledge, education should also improve character (character), one of which is the character of liking to read. For this reason, this research offers a literacy learning model to strengthen students' fond of reading character. Judging from the results of the hypothesis probability number Asmyp. Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.001 or probability below alpha (0.000 <0.05), with a difference in the mean pretest and posttest scores of 8.611, H1 is accepted and H0 is rejected which means there is an increase in the reading character of UIN Bukittinggi students after being given a literacy learning model.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the low level of students’ social interaction skills at MTs Negeri 7 Agam, indicating problems in their social intelligence. This condition is assumed to be influenced by peer relationships and family environment, which may not optimally support students’ social development. Therefore, this study aims to analyze the effects of peers, family environment, and both variables simultaneously on students’ social intelligence. This research employs a quantitative approach with an associative design. The population consists of 253 students, with a sample of 98 students selected using proportional random sampling based on the Taro Yamane formula. The research instrument is a questionnaire covering peer influence, family environment, and social intelligence variables. Data analysis is conducted using simple linear regression and multiple linear regression to test the research hypotheses. The results show that peers have a significant effect on social intelligence, contributing 9.9%. The family environment also has a significant effect with a higher contribution of 30.9%. Simultaneously, peers and family environment significantly influence students’ social intelligence with a combined contribution of 34.3%. These findings highlight the important role of both factors in enhancing students’ social intelligence.

Abstract

This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of Islamic Religious Education (PAI) on the material of prayer and prostration in class VII.2 UPTD SMPN 1 Mungka District through the application of the Problem Based Learning (PBL) model. The background of this study is the low learning outcomes of students, where only 46% of students achieved learning completeness in the pre-cycle, with 15 students (54%) not completing. This is thought to be caused by the use of learning models that do not actively involve students in the learning process, so that students do not understand the material deeply. To overcome this problem, the PBL model is applied which focuses on student involvement in solving real problems and interactive learning. The research method used was classroom action research (PTK), which was conducted in four cycles. The subjects of this study were students of class VII.2 UPTD SMPN 1 Mungka District, totaling 28 students. The results showed a significant increase in student learning outcomes. In cycle I, the number of students who were complete increased to 64% (18 students), while 10 students (36%) were not complete. The improvement continued in cycle II with 78% (22 students) complete and 6 students (22%) not complete. In cycle III, 89% (25 students) were complete and 3 students (11%) were not complete. Finally, in cycle IV, all students (100%) achieved mastery out of 28 students present. The results of this study showed that the application of the PBL model not only increased students' engagement, but also their understanding of PAI materials. Thus, the application of the PBL model proved effective in improving the quality of PAI learning in this school.
