Abstract

Abstract The puberty period is one of the important development periods in the life of every human being. It is during this period that teenagers compete to start looking for their identity. Juvenile delinquency is not only a social problem, but also a developmental problem. In this research, the population used was 120 grade 10 students at SMA Dharma Wanita Surabaya. The sampling technique used was saturated sampling. When data was collected, only 110 people could fill out the questionnaire. This research is included in the quantitative research method with a correlational type. The juvenile delinquency scale used in this research was prepared based on aspects proposed by Sarwono (2002). The permissive parenting style scale is based on aspects proposed by Hurlock (1993). The insecure attachment scale is based on aspects proposed by Armsden & MarkT. Greenberg (1987) The results of this study show that there is an insignificant positive relationship between permissive parenting and insecure attachment and juvenile delinquency. Suggestions that researchers can give to research participants are that students are expected to have the courage to convey to their parents if they feel that their parents are implementing all aspects of permissive parenting. It is hoped that parents will further increase their attachment to their children. Future researchers are expected to use Bartholomew & Horowitz's theory (1991) to deepen the aspects and tools for measuring insecure attachment. Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of forgiveness therapy in reducing academic procrastination among junior high school (JHS) students, as well as to investigate gender-based differences in the effectiveness of the therapy. The research used a quasi-experimental design with a pretest-posttest approach on two groups, male and female students. The forgiveness therapy intervention was conducted over three sessions, with a maximum duration of 120 minutes per session. The results of the analysis showed that forgiveness therapy significantly reduced academic procrastination for both male (t = 4.344; p = 0.012) and female students (t = 9.487; p = 0.001). The average procrastination scores for male students decreased from 61.20 to 51.20, while for female students, it decreased from 58.40 to 55.40. Furthermore, a significant difference was found between the two groups in the level of procrastination reduction (t = 3.012; p = 0.038), with a larger impact on male students. These findings indicate that forgiveness therapy is an effective psychological intervention for reducing academic procrastination, with its effectiveness varying based on gender.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the relationship between sleep quality, emotion regulation, and academic performance among high school students. Learning is a vital process in developing students' skills, knowledge, and attitudes, with academic performance serving as a key indicator of success. High school students are in their adolescent phase, which is marked by physical, psychological, and social changes, as well as academic pressures that can affect their academic performance. One factor that may influence academic performance is sleep quality, which can impact concentration, memory, and mental health. On the other hand, effective emotion regulation can help students cope with academic stress and enhance their performance. This research was conducted to analyze whether sleep quality and emotion regulation influence the academic performance of high school students. The results showed no significant relationship between sleep quality and emotion regulation on students’ academic performance, with a significance value of 0.151 (p < 0.05). This indicates that other factors such as family support, motivation, and learning strategies may play a more dominant role in influencing students' academic performance. This study suggests that future research should consider the dynamic interplay among these factors and adopt a more in-depth approach to explore other variables that may affect students’ academic outcomes.

Abstract

Intense social media use among Generation Z has led to idealized self-presentation behavior that often does not align with reality. This study aims to examine the relationship between self-esteem and narcissism with self-presentation on social media in Generation Z, both partially and simultaneously. The subjects of the study were 151 respondents from Generation Z who were active on social media platforms. Using a quantitative approach, the data were analyzed through a regression test. The results showed that narcissism had a significant correlation with self-presentation (t = 2.397, p = 0.018), while self-esteem did not show a significant relationship (p = 0.270). Simultaneous analysis showed that self-esteem and narcissism together influenced self-presentation with a sig value of 0.010. Although the contribution of narcissism is more dominant, with a practical contribution of 4.6%, overall, these two variables only explain a small part of the factors that influence self-presentation (R² = 0.060). Thus, narcissism is a dominant factor in self-presentation behavior, while the contribution of both to the model is still limited. This study recommends exploring additional psychological variables to gain a more comprehensive understanding.

Abstract

The rapid advancement of digital technology and the dynamic VUCA environment require state-owned enterprises such as PT PLN (Persero) to continuously adapt through effective human resource strategies. This study aims to examine the relationship between perceptions of Talent Management implementation and Workforce Agility, with Employee Engagement as a mediating variable, among employees of PT PLN (Persero) East Java and Bali Main Transmission Unit Headquarters. Utilizing a quantitative approach, data were collected from 125 employees using validated perception scales and analyzed with regression and mediation tests. The findings indicate that Employee Engagement significantly mediates the relationship between perceptions of Talent Management and Workforce Agility, and that both Talent Management and Employee Engagement independently have a positive effect on Workforce Agility. These results suggest that integrated Talent Management and Employee Engagement initiatives are crucial in fostering agile and adaptive workforces, enabling organizations to respond effectively to industry transformations. The study recommends that PT PLN (Persero) and similar organizations prioritize strategic talent development and employee engagement to sustain competitiveness in an increasingly dynamic business landscape.

Abstract

Aggressive driving is a form of driving behavior that endangers safety, such as speeding, tailgating, or making rude gestures toward other road users. In the context of online motorcycle taxi drivers, this behavior is influenced by high work pressure and customer expectations, which can trigger stress and negative emotions. This study aims to examine whether trait anger serves as a mediator in the relationship between customer pressure and aggressive driving. The study used a quantitative correlational approach with a total of 217 online motorcycle taxi drivers in the Surabaya area. The research instruments included three Likert-type scales measuring customer pressure, trait anger, and aggressive driving. The analysis results showed that trait anger does not mediate the relationship between customer pressure and aggressive driving due to a negative path coefficient (-0.332), although it was statistically significant (p = 0.000). Customer pressure had a negative effect on aggressive driving (-0.465), indicating that higher customer pressure was associated with lower aggressive driving tendencies. Trait anger had a positive effect on aggressive driving (0.435), suggesting that individuals with higher levels of anger are more prone to aggressive behavior. These findings highlight that internal factors such as trait anger have a stronger influence on aggressive driving than external factors. Therefore, emotional regulation is a critical aspect in preventing aggressive behavior on the road ABSTRAKAggressive driving merupakan perilaku berkendara yang membahayakan keselamatan, seperti mengebut, membuntuti kendaraan lain, hingga melakukan gestur kasar kepada pengguna jalan lainnya.

Abstract

College students are in the developmental phase of late adolescence to early adulthood, a period that is vulnerable to emotional, social, and academic pressure. This condition places students at risk of experiencing emotional disturbances, such as aggressiveness. Along with technological advancement, students are increasingly exposed to high social media usage and irregular sleep patterns, both of which are suspected to affect emotional stability and aggressive behavior. The goal of this study is to find out how the amount of time university students in Surabaya spend on social media affects their sleep quality and aggressiveness. Because the data didn't meet the assumptions for linierity, this study used a correlational quantitative approach with Spearman's rank correlation test. There were 310 students in the study, and they were chosen through snowball sampling. The social media usage intensity scale, sleep quality scale, and aggressiveness scale were all used. All of these scales had passed tests for validity and reliability. The results showed that how much someone used social media did not have a strong link to how aggressive they were (r = 0.027; p = 0.638). On the other hand, how well someone slept did have a strong negative link to how aggressive they were (r = -0.491; p < 0.01). Students with poor sleep quality tended to exhibit higher levels of aggressiveness. This study concludes that improving sleep quality can serve as a preventive strategy to reduce student aggressiveness.

Abstract

Readiness for change in knowledge shown by generation x employees is still moderate tending to low. This causes 59% to feel anxious, to stress in the period of retirement. This condition requires good adaptability in order to survive in their work, besides the cognitive and affective assessment factors of employees also need to be studied to see the dynamics of open attitudes that will be shown. The objective in this study is to see the mediating relationship of adaptability between quality of work life and organizational identification on readiness for change. This study involved 437 generation x employees in Surabaya, Gresik, and Sidoarjo who worked for more than one year with a path analysis design. The results show that adaptability fully mediates the relationship between quality of work life and readiness for change, but not significantly on organizational identification. Meanwhile, partially, the three independent variables have a significant effect on readiness for change. The use of internal factors plays an important role in the readiness of generation x employees but needs to pay attention to other external factors. Further implications for future research are described in the discussion
