Abstract

The best approach to addressing this issue is necessary due to parents' lack of understanding about children's education and current needs. Therefore, it is imperative to provide services that seek to improve parents' understanding through socialization. This service was held to better inform parents of RT 08 Kelurahan Mandala Merauke about educational efforts. The participants in this service totaled 20 people, all of whom were parents of children in the school age range. The method of service carried out was mentoring with a lecture, discussion, and question and answer approach. The results of the service showed a positive influence on parents' perceptions of education for children. After the material was delivered, it was clear that parents' understanding increased. To increase parents' awareness of education for children, it is recommended that the activities carried out be continued and made into routine activities.

Abstract

Matematika ialah mata pelajaran di Sekolah Dasar memberikan bekal kepada siswa untuk memiliki cara penyelesaian masalah berbeda dari kebanyakan orang sehingga kepercayaan diri terbangun sejak dini. Tangram bisa dipakai untuk meningkatkan cara berpikir matematis. Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) dilakukan di SD Kristen Kalam Kudus Merauke dengan dosen 8 orang, 32 siswa di kelas I dan didampingi oleh wali kelas serta kepala sekolah. Pelaksanaan PKM bertujuan membiasakan siswa berkolaborasi dalam menyelesaikan masalah serta melihat kemmapuan berpikir kreatif dalam membuat berbagai bentuk berdasar bangun penyusun tangram. Metode yang dilaksanakan yakni pelatihan pembuatan tangram berbantu bangun datar. Hasil PKM untuk siswa yakni terlihat kemampuan berpikir kreatif siswa untuk membuat bentuk baru sesuai dengan kreasi, percaya diri saat mengemukakan pendapat ketika berdiskusi dalam kelompok menyelesaikan masalah pembuatan tangram dan memperlihatkan hasil diskusi dengan yakin. Selanjutnya, hasil yang didapat dari tim pelaksana PKM adalah membiasakan siswa untuk bekerjasama, menyederhanakan bahasa saat menjelaskan supaya bisa dimengerti siswa dengan baik lalu relasi bertambah.

Abstract

Abad ke-21 telah menghadirkan tantangan yang kompleks dan beragam di berbagai aspek kehidupan manusia, termasuk dalam bidang pendidikan. Pendidikan harus mengalami transformasi yang signifikan untuk menghadapi tantangan masa depan yang semakin dinamis dan mengikuti perkembangan teknologi, globalisasi, dan perubahan sosial. Oleh karena itu, transformasi pendidikan akan menjadi kunci dalam mempersiapkan generasi mendatang untuk menghadapi tuntutan jaman. Dalam proses transformasi pendidikan, sekolah dan guru memiliki peranan yang sangat penting. Sekolah Dasar sebagai lembaga pendidikan formal memiliki peran krusial sebagai tempat untuk menerapkan inovasi pendidikan dan menciptakan lingkungan belajar yang kondusif. Sementara guru sebagai garda terdepan dalam pelaksanaan kurikulum dan pembelajaran perlu menghadirkan pengalaman belajar yang lebih menarik dan interaktif, membantu siswa memiliki keterampilan abad 21 serta lebih terampil dalam literasi digital. Metode penelitian yang digunakan yaitu metode kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik pengumpulan data menggunakan observasi dan wawancara. Penelitian ini dilakukan di SD Inpres Kampung Baru, dengan hasil penelitian yaitu secara keseluruhan, SD Inpres Kampung Baru Merauke telah berhasil dalam mengintegrasikan keterampilan abad 21 ke dalam kurikulum merdeka belajar, dan peran kepala sekolah serta guru telah berperan penting dalam menciptakan lingkungan pembelajaran yang berhasil dan bermanfaat bagi siswa.

Abstract

The main problem in learning mathematics in elementary schools is the weak learning process caused by ineffective teaching methods, teachers tend to use conventional approaches that make it difficult for students to understand the material, resulting in low student learning outcomes. In this context, numeracy skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication and division, are very important because they are closely related to daily activities. This study aims to improve the learning outcomes of mathematics multiplication material by using Numbers Satay Props for class II students of Wasur 2 Merauke State Elementary School in the 2022/2023 academic year, totaling 20 students. The design of this class action research includes: 1) planning 2) implementation 3) observation 4) reflection. This research took place in two cycles, each cycle had three meetings. The data collection methods in this study are: 1) test 2) observation 3) documentation. The results of this study indicate that the use of Numbers skewers media improves the learning process of math multiplication material. This is evidenced by the increase in student learning outcomes in counting. In the pre-cycle the number of students who completed as many as 11 students (55%). In cycle I the number of students who completed as many as 15 students (75%). In cycle II the number of students who were complete was 20 students (100%).

Abstract

The fundamental mathematical concepts acquired at the elementary level include the calculation of the greatest common divisor (GCD) and the least common multiple (LCM). It is undeniable that students encounter challenges when attempting to solve and determine the value of GCD and LCM. A prevalent pedagogical practice observed in the classroom is the exclusive reliance on methods derived from textbooks. Accordingly, this research is designed to provide educators with additional resources for implementing alternative methods in teaching the material related to GCD and LCM, with a particular focus on facilitating calculations involving large numbers. This study used the research and development method. The data used were the results of expert judgment from mathematics experts. The product produced from this research is the Euclid algorithm book on the calculation of GCD and LCM, for elementary school teachers. This book received a good response from the experts with an average assessment value of 4.43 or classified as very good so it is suitable for use as a reference for teachers.

Abstract

Early childhood teacher education plays an important role in preparing educators to teach science effectively and relevantly. However, learning materials that integrate local wisdom are still limited, especially in Papua. This approach is expected to improve prospective teachers competence in teaching science while preserving local culture. The purpose of developing this local wisdom-based module is to produce a module that can improve students' understanding of science teaching methods that are relevant to the local context and enrich students' knowledge of local wisdom. The module was developed using the 4D Model which includes define, design, develop and disseminate. This research uses data collection instruments including documentation and questionnaires. Data analysis techniques are used to calculate the validity of material and media validators, as well as student responses. Based on the assessment of material experts and media experts, an average feasibility of 3.8 and 3.6 with very valid criteria and the results of the trial on students with a score of 95.33%, so it can be concluded that the Early Childhood Science module based on Papuan local wisdom is valid and suitable for use in the learning process in the classroom in the Early Childhood Science course in the Department of Early Childhood Education.

Abstract

Training is a form of Community Service or Pengabdian Kepada Masyarakat (PKM) carried out by lecturers. The target of the training is students with weight conversion material. The stages carried out are taking care of the PKM implementation permit, preparing the place as well as the tools and materials needed in the training, and implementing PKM. Weight conversion is interpreted as the weight of units between units having the same value. Weight conversion must be mastered by students as prospective teachers so that media creation training is needed. The training was held in March 2025 at Building 1.3, Musamus University. The results of the weight conversion training were that students were able to use weight conversion media and explain the conversion method in detail. The benefits obtained were that lecturers could share knowledge and experience in developing weight conversion media; for students, the benefits obtained were being able to make weight conversion media, becoming one of the media used when teaching, increasing creativity, and better communication skills.

Abstract

The implementation of the Independent Curriculum based on the case method in the current learning process has not yet been optimally carried out. This is due to the lack of understanding related to the application of the Independent Curriculum, particularly in IPAS (Integrated Science) learning. The purpose of this study is to analyze the implementation of the Merdeka Curriculum using the case method in IPAS learning at Elementary Schoo Wasur 2. The research method used is descriptive quantitative, with data collection through interviews, classroom observations, distribution of questionnaires involving the principal and 14 teachers from Elementary Schoo Wasur 2, as well as documentation, and the analysis of teaching modules. The results of the study show that the implementation of the Independent Curriculum based on the case method in IPAS learning faces many challenges and obstacles in the learning process, such as the lack of supporting facilities and infrastructure, and the available teaching materials are not yet sufficient to support IPAS learning. Inadequate knowledge and expertise of teachers in applying the case method. The purpose of this study was to examine how Wasur 2 Elementary School implemented an independent science curriculum based on the case approach.

Abstract

The low literacy skills of students remain a major challenge in the field of education, including Merauke Regency, South Papua. One contributing factor is the use of learning materials that are insufficiently contextual and irrelevant to students’ lives. This study aims to determine the effectiveness of using local wisdom-based teaching materials in improving students literacy skills at Muhammadiyah Elementary School Merauke. The research employed a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design, using a one-group pretest-posttest model. The subjects of this study were 28 fourth-grade students selected through purposive sampling. Statistical analysis using the paired sample t-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest scores (p < 0.05). The average literacy score increased from 61,18 in the pretest to 81,89 in the posttest, representing an improvement of 20,71%. These results indicate that the use of local wisdom-based teaching materials can enhance students’ literacy skills. The findings of this study are recommended for broader implementation by teachers in designing effective, meaningful, sustainable learning rooted in the nation’s culture to improve the quality of education, as well as to strengthen students’ identity and character from an early age. Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance the competencies of teachers at SDN Wasur 2 in implementing enjoyable project-based learning within the framework of the Kurikulum Merdeka. The implementation methods included training and mentoring, involving 22 teacher participants. The evaluation instrument utilized a questionnaire comprising 20 statements, and the data analysis technique employed a t-test to identify differences in knowledge before and after the activity. The results of the community service indicated that the training and mentoring positively impacted the teachers' skills in implementing enjoyable project-based learning. This is evident from the positive responses to the training provided. Teachers felt that the training offered new inspiration for enhancing their teaching creativity and expressed increased confidence in using project-based learning methods after the training. The implications of this activity included the improved ability of teachers to implement enjoyable project-based learning and to create engaging lessons for students.
