Abstract

Biology is complex for students because of a lack of interest, uncertainty regarding healthy blood circulation, small and large blood circulation systems, remembering the order of blood circulation, and fast-paced education. Students need microcirculation groups. Significant and minor blood circulation groups must be understood and circulated by students. Old biology teaching methods failed students despite adopting technology. Teachers must master and use learning technology in our globalized environment. Online learning is current education technology. This research can help educators choose instructional resources, especially the exciting part of practitioners contributing to academic biology research. This study evaluates student motivation and circulation system learning with Edmodo and meeting room media. Classroom Action Research met twice. Research rigour evaluation needs learning and assessment criteria alignment. Planning, Action, Observation/Evaluation, and Reflection comprise each learning cycle. This study includes 20 grade 11 controls. Teachers and practitioners utilize Edmodo and Zoom for online learning. In the lesson plan, a 40-question two-level multiple-choice exam and a motivation survey assess student learning. The study is quantitative. From inception to finish, data analysis grades data quality 1–4. Researchers use observation, interviews, and questionnaires. Microsoft Excel averaged descriptive analysis data. It measures efficacy by the percentage increase in learning outcomes during learning. This essay analyzes how Edmodo impacts classroom learning, outcomes, and motivation.

Abstract

Understanding is one of the bases for developing learning models, with an emphasis on indicators of learning understanding. One alternative when learning can enable increased understanding of concepts by using the CTL learning model. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of CTL on increasing the ability to understand biology students' concepts. The type of research used was a quasi-experimental design in the form of a nonequivalent control group design. The quasi-experimental group has a control group, but cannot fully function to control external variables that affect the implementation of the experimental group. The research design uses the pretest method before the lesson starts, then is given treatment using the CTL learning model, and ends with a posttest to measure differences in the level of students' conceptual understanding abilities at each meeting. The form of this research is quantitative. The results showed that there was an effect of using the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model on students' understanding of concepts with a pretest control class score of 65 and a posttest of 75. Meanwhile, the pretest and posttest experimental class scores were 80

Abstract

A person's success in mastering a material is caused by the belief he has, because it is this belief that will cause a person to behave in such a way that the belief will materialize. One source of belief is the level of self-confidence. ability (self-efficacy). The Scientific Critical Thinking (SCT) model is a model that can be applied to material on the human respiratory system in class A1 and A2 biology lessons at Lancang Kuning University. This study aims to determine critical thinking skills, communication skills and self-efficacy of biology students in the application of the SCT model to the material on the respiratory system. The method in this study was a quasi-experimental study with a post-test nonequivalent control group design. The sample of this study were students in class A1 biology (experimental class) and class A2 biology (control class). Retrieval of data in research using test and non-test techniques. Data analysis techniques used in this study are descriptive and inferential. Abstract

Students’ well-being is often disturbed by external demands, such as academic pressure, family expectations, and social expectations. These demands can impact students’ mental and emotional well-being. This research aims to explore the problems of external demands for students’ psychological well-being. This research used the systematic literature review (SLR) method to investigate the impact of external demands on students’ psychological well-being. Data were collected from articles published between 2018 and 2023 from the Scopus database. Of the 93 articles, 26 articles were obtained after screening. Data mining and analysis were conducted with the help of Publish or Perish, Biblioshiny, and ATLAS.ti. The results show the complexity of external demands, with factors such as internal and external support, job control, social media use, and individual differences in emotion regulation playing essential roles. The long-term impacts of these demands can include increased levels of stress, anxiety, and depression in students. Therefore, it is essential to manage external demands strategically to create a learning environment that supports students’ psychological well-being. This research highlights the need for joint efforts between schools, families, and communities to address external demands on students. Effective interventions are needed to reduce the negative impact of external demands.
