Abstract

Abstract

Prehospital care is an emergency medical service (EMS) administered outside of the hospital. Time-consuming documentation of medical records is one of the tasks that prehospital nurses have to complete. It requires the development of innovations to improve prehospital care. To enhance prehospital treatment, innovations must be created. The purpose of this study is to ascertain whether the emergency and disaster electronic handling system application (SPEED) decreases the time nurses spend recording patient records. A total of 54 samples will be randomly separated into two groups as part of the study's true experimental design with crossed over method. Each of the three study sessions lasts for three weeks to finish. Group B received the first period of the paper-based intervention, whereas group A received the SPEED intervention. Group B will get the SPEED intervention following the washout period (second period), whereas group A will receive a paper-based intervention (third period). The independent t-test showed that the SPEED application was more efficient than paper-based using a mean difference value of 25.22 and a sig (2-tailed) value of 0.00. The SPEED application can make nurses' jobs easier and lighten their prehospital nurses' mental, physical, and time demands.

Abstract

The rising prevalence of obesity among adults, particularly women, highlights the need for effective weight management strategies. While previous studies have explored weight loss adherence, limited research has focused on the psychological strategies that reproductive-age women use to maintain their motivation in diet and physical activity. This qualitative study was conducted from September until October 2024 and employed a narrative approach, involving in-depth interviews with six key informants in Bandung City who had experienced or participated in a weight loss program. Additional informants were also included to support the triangulation method. Data were thematically analyzed using NVivo 12 for coding and Microsoft Excel for data tabulation. The study revealed five strategies for overcoming demotivation, burnout, and boredom. (1) Reflecting on Achievements, (2) taking a break for a while, (3) embracing the flexibility of diet and physical activity, (4) remembering the motivation they started to lose weight, and (5) adjusting the intensity of exercise. In conclusion, reflecting on achievement could be a strategy to overcome demotivation, burnout, or boredom during the weight loss journey. Nevertheless, the effectiveness of these strategies depends on individual characteristics. Personalized approaches to weight loss programs can be integrated into community-based initiatives and healthcare practices to enhance long-term adherence through group support, educational campaigns, coaching in healthier eating practices, and stress management.

Abstract

Malnutrition in infancy is irreversible on growth and development, so toddlers need adequate and quality food intake. The factors that indirectly cause malnutrition in toddlers are parenting patterns. Mothers’ parenting patterns that are not good in feeding toddlers can be caused by low mothers’ comprehension and behavior in choosing food. This study aims to know comprehension level and parenting culture with the feeding behavior of toddlers in Tulungagung Regency. This study used an analytical observational research design with a cross-sectional study approach. The respondents amounted to 72 mothers of toddlers. The research instrument used a questionnaire and then analyzed using a chi-square test. The majority of mothers with toddlers had good comprehension about nutrition and food intake for toddlers, ideal parenting culture, and adequate feeding behavior. Based on the analysis using chi-square, the comprehension level had a relationship with feeding behavior in toddlers (p-value of 0.013), while parenting culture had no relationship with feeding behavior in toddlers (p-value of 0.270). The conclusion is there is a relationship between the comprehension level and the feeding behavior of toddlers and there is no relationship between parenting culture and the feeding behavior of toddlers.
