Abstract

In 21st-century education, writing skills in Indonesian language learning are no longer simply defined as the ability to construct words and sentences, but rather as a higher-order thinking process involving analysis, reflection, and in-depth interpretation of experiences and social contexts. The integration of a deep learning approach into writing instruction offers a new paradigm oriented toward students' understanding of meaning, creativity, and critical thinking skills. Through this literature review, researchers analyzed various recent research findings on the application of deep learning in the context of teaching Indonesian language writing in schools. The results of the review indicate that deep learning strategies can encourage students to understand the structure and meaning of texts more reflectively, develop original ideas, and build connections between personal experiences and socio-cultural contexts. Furthermore, teachers play a crucial role in creating a collaborative learning environment that stimulates students' critical thinking and creative expression. Deep learning-based writing instruction has also been shown to strengthen higher-order thinking skills and shift the learning paradigm from mere knowledge reproduction to meaning construction.

Abstract

Multilingualism is becoming increasingly prominent among Generation Z, who are growing up amid globalization and digital technological advancement. While many studies have separately examined language shift or language maintenance, few have specifically explored the relationship between multilingual practices among Generation Z and the preservation of regional languages, particularly in linguistically diverse areas such as South Sulawesi. This study aims to describe the patterns of first, second, and third language use among Generation Z and explore their connection to language maintenance efforts. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through observation, questionnaires, and interviews with 60 respondents aged 18–20 from various regions in South Sulawesi. The findings reveal that 63.3% of respondents use Indonesian as their first language, followed by Bugis (18.3%), Makassarese (15%), and others. For the second language, respondents tend to use regional languages, while English dominates as the third language (65%). These results indicate a shift in regional languages from the position of mother tongue to second or third language. However, there is still evidence of preservation efforts through the use of regional languages within family and social settings. These findings provide a foundation for the formulation of linguistic and educational policies that promote regional language revitalization, and they enrich theoretical understanding of multilingual dynamics in the digital era. ABSTRAK Multilingualisme merupakan fenomena yang semakin menonjol di kalangan Generasi Z yang hidup di tengah arus globalisasi dan kemajuan teknologi digital. Meskipun banyak penelitian membahas pergeseran bahasa atau pemertahanan bahasa secara terpisah, masih sedikit yang mengkaji hubungan antara praktik multilingualisme Generasi Z dan pelestarian bahasa daerah, khususnya di wilayah dengan keragaman bahasa seperti Sulawesi Selatan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menggambarkan pola penggunaan bahasa pertama, kedua, dan ketiga di kalangan Generasi Z serta mengeksplorasi keterkaitannya dengan upaya pemertahanan bahasa daerah. Menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kualitatif, data diperoleh melalui observasi, angket, dan wawancara terhadap 60 responden usia 18–20 tahun dari berbagai daerah di Sulawesi Selatan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa 63,3% responden menggunakan bahasa Indonesia sebagai bahasa pertama, disusul Bugis (18,3%), Makassar (15%), dan lainnya. Sebagai bahasa kedua, responden cenderung menggunakan bahasa daerah, sementara bahasa Inggris dominan sebagai bahasa ketiga (65%). Temuan ini menunjukkan adanya pergeseran bahasa daerah dari posisi bahasa ibu menjadi bahasa kedua atau ketiga. Namun, tetap terdapat indikasi upaya pelestarian melalui penggunaan bahasa daerah dalam lingkungan keluarga dan sosial. Temuan ini memberikan dasar bagi perumusan kebijakan linguistik dan pendidikan yang mendorong revitalisasi bahasa daerah, serta memperkaya pemahaman teoretis tentang dinamika multilingualisme di era digital.

Abstract

Abstrak. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan literasi digital akademik dosen baru Fakultas Bahasa dan Sastra Universitas Negeri Makassar (FBS UNM) melalui workshop pemutakhiran data pada platform SINTA dan SISTER. Kedua platform tersebut merupakan sistem informasi nasional yang menjadi dasar penilaian kinerja dosen, pengembangan karier akademik, dan pemetaan kualitas institusi. Namun, banyak dosen baru yang masih mengalami kesulitan dalam memahami mekanisme pembaruan data dan pengelolaan portofolio digital akademik secara mandiri. Workshop dilaksanakan selama satu hari dengan pendekatan partisipatif dan praktik langsung (hands-on training). Kegiatan ini meliputi penyampaian materi tentang fungsi dan keterintegrasian SINTA–SISTER, praktik pemutakhiran profil akademik, unggah dokumen pendukung, sinkronisasi data publikasi, serta diskusi dan konsultasi teknis. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan adanya peningkatan pemahaman dan keterampilan peserta dalam mengelola data akademik secara mandiri. Peserta mampu memperbarui profil pribadi, riwayat pendidikan, data publikasi, serta menautkan identitas keilmuan seperti Google Scholar dan Scopus ID. Evaluasi akhir menunjukkan bahwa workshop ini efektif meningkatkan kesiapan dosen baru dalam mengelola portofolio akademik digital dan memperkuat akurasi data institusi. Kegiatan ini disimpulkan sebagai langkah strategis dalam mendukung pengembangan kapasitas dosen baru sekaligus meningkatkan mutu dokumentasi akademik di lingkungan FBS UNM. Pelaksanaan pelatihan serupa secara berkala direkomendasikan untuk memastikan keberlanjutan peningkatan kualitas data akademik dosen. Kata kunci: literasi digital akademik, SINTA, SISTER, dosen baru, FBS UNM, pemutakhiran data.

Abstract

Pelatihan ini diharapkan menambah pengetahuan dan pengalaman guru di SMAS YAPIP Sungguminasa tentang pembuatan lembar kerja siswa melalui aplikasi Teachshare AI. Sebanyak 18 guru dilatih membuat akun di Teachshare AI, memulai langkah awal pembuatan lembar kerja, hingga mengunduh lembar kerja yang telah mereka buat. Selain itu, guru-guru juga dilatih membuat rubrik penilaian, dan grafik perkembangan hasil belajar siswa. Meskipun tidak semua peserta berhasil membuat lembar kerja siswa dengan baik, para guru di  SMAS YAPIP Sungguminasa sudah mampu mengetahui langkah-langkah proses pembuatannya.Kata kunci: LKS, guru, Teachshare AI

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of the synergy between Grammarly and ChatGPT in improving students’ persuasive writing skills, particularly in terms of argumentative structure and stylistic expression. The research is grounded in the current challenge of academic literacy in the era of artificial intelligence (AI), which requires students not only to write with linguistic accuracy but also to convey ideas persuasively and coherently. A mixed-method approach was employed through a quasi-experimental design combined with a perception survey. The participants consisted of 56 students from a language education program who engaged in AI-assisted writing instruction. Quantitative data were obtained from pretest and posttest writing assessments, while qualitative data were collected through open-ended questionnaires and reflective interviews. Data analysis involved paired-sample t-tests and thematic analysis. The findings revealed a significant improvement in students’ writing performance after utilizing Grammarly and ChatGPT. The average score for structural organization increased from 71.0 to 81.7, while the stylistic aspect improved from 69.3 to 81.9. Students reported that Grammarly helped them identify and correct linguistic errors and enhance their language awareness, whereas ChatGPT supported idea generation, argument development, and rhetorical variation. The synergy between these tools fostered a more reflective and self-regulated writing process, consistent with the theoretical frameworks of AI-mediated learning and social constructivism. Theoretically, this research reinforces the concepts of formative feedback and Cognitive Apprenticeship in academic writing instruction. Pedagogically, the findings indicate that integrating AI technology can serve as an innovative strategy for teaching writing, provided that it is accompanied by ethical guidance and reflective supervision from instructors. Thus, the synergy between Grammarly and ChatGPT not only enhances students’ writing quality but also transforms the way they learn to write critically, creatively, and responsibly in the digital literacy era.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menuntut guru memiliki kemampuan literasi media dan penulisan kreatif agar dapat beradaptasi dengan pembelajaran abad ke-21. Namun sebagian guru di SMP Amannagappa Makassar masih menghadapi kendala dalam memanfaatkan media digital secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam penulisan dan literasi media digital melalui pelatihan berbasis aplikasi Canva. Metode pelaksanaannya meliputi sosialisasi, pelatihan, praktik langsung, pendampingan, dan evaluasi hasil karya. Sebanyak 20 guru mengikuti pelatihan dengan antusias dan mampu menghasilkan berbagai produk pembelajaran digital berupa poster, infografis, serta presentasi interaktif. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan yang signifikan pada kemampuan guru dalam menulis konten edukatif yang komunikatif dan mendesain media pembelajaran yang menarik serta relevan dengan Kurikulum Merdeka. Kegiatan ini juga membangkitkan kesadaran pentingnya kolaborasi antarguru dan literasi digital dalam menciptakan ekosistem pembelajaran yang kreatif dan adaptif.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan bentukpematuhan maksim kesantunan berbahasa sertafungsi pragmatik kesantunan dalam komentarwarganet pada video TikTok @Dokterdetektif. Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptifkualitatif dengan data berupa komentar warganet pada empat video viral akun @Dokterdetektif. Teknik pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui dokumentasi, pencatatan, dan pembacaan komentar. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa bentuk pematuhanmaksim kesantunan meliputi enam maksim menurutLeech (1993), yaitu maksim kebijaksanaan, penghargaan, kemurahan, kerendahan hati, kecocokan, dan kesimpatian. Dari enam maksimtersebut, maksim penghargaan dan kesimpatian paling dominan digunakan oleh warganet. Fungsi pragmatikyang muncul meliputi fungsi ekspresif, direktif, representatif, dan komisif. Temuan ini memperlihatkanbahwa meskipun media sosial bersifat bebas, warganet tetap menunjukkan kesadaran berbahasasantun dalam konteks digital. Abstract

21st-century education demands the development of students who are not only academically intelligent but also character- and socially mature. Reflective writing is an effective pedagogical strategy for connecting learning experiences with character development. This article systematically examines the role of reflective writing within a deep learning framework through a qualitative literature review approach. The study results indicate that reflective writing enhances students' self-awareness and integrity by encouraging introspection, evaluation of the learning process, and recognition of strengths and weaknesses. This activity also serves as a metacognitive tool, helping students organize, monitor, and evaluate their own learning strategies. Furthermore, reflective writing strengthens empathy and social awareness through engagement in collaborative projects, social experiences, and value reflection, enabling students to understand others' perspectives and foster environmental stewardship. Integrating reflection into contextual learning contexts for example, community service activities, class projects, or value discussions—facilitates the internalization of character values ​​such as responsibility, honesty, and cooperation. The effectiveness of reflective writing is even greater when it is designed as a core part of a deep learning strategy, rather than simply an additional assignment. By systematically integrating reflection, students are able to continuously connect learning experiences with moral and social values, build authentic understanding, and internalize character holistically. These findings confirm that reflective writing is not merely an academic exercise, but a crucial mechanism for developing students with self-awareness, integrity, social concern, and responsibility in real life.

Abstract

This study aims to describe: the functions of illocutionary speech acts found in the song lyrics of the album Membangun dan Menghancurkan by Feast. This study employs a descriptive qualitative approach. The data consist of utterances or linguistic units containing illocutionary speech acts in the song lyrics “O, Tuan,” “Nina,” and “Tarot.” The data source of this study is the text of the song lyrics in the album Membangun dan Menghancurkan by Feast. Data collection was conducted through documentation methods, involving the steps of observing, note-taking, and classifying the data according to the research focus. The research instrument is the researcher themselves, supported by a data classification sheet based on John R. Searle’s theory of illocutionary speech acts. The data analysis technique uses the Miles and Huberman model, which includes data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results show that there are five types of illocutionary speech acts: representatives, directives, commissives, expressives, and declaratives, which function to convey attitudes, express commitments, make requests, make announcements, and present the speaker’s viewpoints.

Abstract

This study aims to describe the intentions and functions of illocutionary speech acts in the lyrics of the song “Taruh” by Nadin Amizah. Language, as the primary medium of communication, does not merely function as a tool for conveying information but also serves as a means of performing communicative actions, which can be examined through a pragmatic perspective, particularly the concept of illocutionary speech acts proposed by John Langshaw Austin. This research employs a descriptive qualitative approach using pragmatic analysis. The data consist of utterances found in the song lyrics, obtained from official sources, and collected through the listening and note-taking technique.The data analysis is based on Austin’s classification of illocutionary speech acts, which includes verdictives, exercitives, commissives, behabitives, and expositives. The findings reveal that the lyrics of “Taruh” contain all five types of illocutionary speech acts with various communicative intentions and functions, namely expressing judgments, directing attitudes, affirming commitments, conveying emotions, and providing explanations. The diversity of these speech acts indicates an integrated meaning that reflects the dynamics of interpersonal relationships, trust, and the speaker’s emotional experiences. Therefore, this study confirms that song lyrics are not only aesthetic in nature but also possess communicative and reflective dimensions in representing human inner experiences.
