Abstract

The trend of ultra-processed food (UPF) consumption among urban adolescents has increased along with the modern, fast-paced lifestyle. This consumption pattern has the potential to increase the risk of obesity, especially in school-age groups. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the level of ultra-processed food consumption and the risk of obesity in adolescents based on Body Mass Index (BMI). The study was conducted with a quantitative approach and cross-sectional design on 200 high school students in the DKI Jakarta area. Data were collected through a Food Frequency Questionnaire (FFQ) and anthropometric measurements (weight and height). The analysis technique used the Kolmogorov-Smirnov normality test, Pearson correlation test, and simple linear regression with a significance level of p < 0.05. The results showed that the majority of respondents consumed ultra-processed foods in the moderate to high category. The highest average BMI was recorded in the high UPF consumption group (24.3), while the low consumption group had an average BMI of 21.4. The Pearson correlation test yielded an r value of 0.479 (p = 0.000), and linear regression showed a 23% contribution of UPF consumption to BMI variation (R² = 0.230). This study concluded that there is a significant positive relationship between ultra-processed food consumption and obesity risk in urban adolescents. These results provide an important basis for strengthening nutrition education programs, limiting unhealthy food advertising, and implementing healthy canteen policies in school environments.

Abstract

This mixed-method study demonstrates that postpartum care practices significantly influence maternal health outcomes, with modern practices and integrated traditional–modern approaches yielding better results than reliance on traditional practices alone. Quantitative findings indicate that mothers who adopted evidence-based postpartum care experienced improved physical recovery and overall health status, while qualitative insights reveal that traditional practices continue to play an important psychosocial and cultural role. The integration of both approaches emerged as the most beneficial model, suggesting that maternal health outcomes are optimized when biomedical care is complemented by culturally meaningful practices that provide emotional support and social reassurance. The findings carry important implications for maternal health policy and practice. Health professionals should avoid framing traditional postpartum practices as inherently harmful and instead adopt culturally sensitive strategies that encourage safe integration with modern care. Training programs for midwives and postpartum care providers should emphasize respectful communication and cultural competence to enhance maternal trust and service utilization. However, this study has limitations. The findings are context-specific and may not be fully generalizable to regions with different cultural or healthcare systems. Additionally, the cross-sectional nature of the quantitative phase limits causal inference, and self-reported health measures may be subject to recall bias. Future research should employ longitudinal designs and broader geographic coverage to further examine the long-term health effects of integrated postpartum care models.

Abstract

Background: One of the effects that occurs after Sectio Caesarea surgery is complaints of pain. Data from the World Health Organization (WHO) SC prevalence is 46% in China and 25% in Asia, Europe and Latin America. Based on 2021 RISKESDAS data, the number of deliveries using the Sectio Caesarea method in Indonesia is 17.6%. The data obtained at PKU Muhammadiyah Hospital included 1045 mothers giving birth by Sectio Caesarea. Post SC pain data is mostly on the moderate pain scale with 66.0%, mild pain with 25.7%, and severe pain with 7.7%. One non-pharmacological intervention is providing early mobilization measures. Objective: To determine the results of implementing early mobilization measures to reduce the intensity of Post Sectio Caesarea pain. Method: Descriptive observational research using a case study method carried out by 2 respondents from Post SC mothers who underwent early mobilization in the first 6 hours after caesarean section until the third day. Results: The pain scale in respondents after early mobilization was on the mild pain scale. Conclusion: There is a reduction in pain for Post Sectio Caesarea mothers by early mobilization.
