Abstract

BPJS Employment, formerly known as Jamsostek, has undergone a lengthy evolution in providing protection to workers and their families in Indonesia. Since its inception regulated by a series of laws and regulations, until becoming part of the National Social Security System under Law No. 40 of 2004, BPJS Employment has provided various assurance programs covering work accidents, death, old age, pensions, and job loss. Through interviews with traders, farmers, and factory workers, it is evident that these programs provide significant benefits, such as a sense of security and financial protection, which positively impact work productivity. However, public awareness of the importance of employment social security still needs to be increased through broader socialization. Thus, BPJS Employment is not only a financial protection instrument for workers but also plays a role in improving the overall welfare of society.

Abstract

This practice focuses on intervention with a 42-year-old female prisoner with a drug recidivism case, specifically related to her role as a courier delivering methamphetamine. Using the mezzo intervention method introduced by Zastrow, this practice applied a social work approach with family case work methods and utilized psychodynamic models. This approach aimed to create hope and facilitate effective rehabilitation for the prisoner. The results of the practice showed that with appropriate interventions, there were improvements in emotional and behavioral aspects that could support the social reintegration process. A holistic and structured approach through family case work and in-depth understanding through the psychodynamic model played an important role in the treatment of this drug recidivist case. This finding confirms the importance of comprehensive and personalized intervention strategies in addressing drug recidivism, particularly among female prisoners.

Abstract

Children with Special Needs (CSN) are children who have physical or psychological deficiencies. One example is children with Autism or Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD). Autistic children have different spectrums in each child. Every child with ASD has unique characteristics; they all have neurological issues, but their preferences and ways of adapting to their environment vary from child to child. Children with ASD require special education or therapy to be trained to become independent in the future. Children with ASD are one type of CSN, and they, of course, require welfare services and will interact with social workers. Social workers will intervene using social work methods and provide programs to restore the social functioning of children with ASD. The goal of this fieldwork is a form of dedication to the community. Through the prayer learning that has been implemented, it is hoped that children with ASD will be able to meet their spiritual needs as religious individuals.

Abstract

The author conducted a practicum at the Murah Hati Masyarakat Indonesian Orphanage. The practice carried out by the author is to research the problems experienced by orphanage children. The problems experienced by orphanage children are the lack of interest in reading orphanage children so that they experience difficulties in learning and lack of confidence. From these problems, the author is interested and makes a goal to increase the interest in reading and counting orphanage children by creating a mini project, namely a reading corner. The author uses the stages of social groupwork in his research from the preparation stage to the termination stage. After doing all the stages of social groupwork, the results are expected by the author so that the orphanage children can continue their interest in reading and counting so that they do not have difficulties in learning and increase their knowledge and confidence to socialize.

Abstract

Children with special needs are children who require special attention both physically and mentally due to developmental disorders during their growing years. There are several types of children with special needs, one of which is autism. Autism is a neurodevelopmental disorder that makes it difficult for children with autism to perform daily activities such as communication and interaction. This practice is designed for children with special needs with the aim of controlling their emotions and training their concentration using the method of threading bead bracelets. During a two-month implementation period, the results showed that this method successfully trained the patience and concentration of children with autism.

Abstract

Bullying is any form of bullying or violence that is intentionally perpetrated by a stronger individual or group of people with the aim of inflicting physical, emotional, or psychological harm on others. Bullying can occur anywhere, including at school, and can be carried out by teachers, students, or adults in the school environment. Many cases of bullying today attract the attention of practitioners to intervene with victims of bullying. One of them is MR, a junior high school student who is a victim of bullying at his school. He often received treatment that indicated bullying from classmates. Through this activity, practitioners are interested in intervening with MR (client) regarding the bullying case he experienced. The purpose of this activity is to examine the causes of bullying against clients and help make behavioral changes in clients such as communication skills and increased self-confidence. The method used is casework intervention in identifying client problems. The results showed that the client became more confident when communicating with others and speaking in front of people and began to dare to defend himself if he received treatment that indicated bullying.

Abstract

This article was created to look at the Medan City Government's efforts to reduce the number of people who need social welfare services, especially homeless people and beggars, based on Medan City Regional Regulation Number 6 of 2003 concerning the Prohibition of Homelessness and Begging in Medan City, which is implemented by the Social Rehabilitation sector at the Medan City Social Service. This journal discusses how to deal with Homelessness and Beggars through the provision of shelter homes established by the Rehabilitation sector at the Medan City Social Service. The function of the Social Rehabilitation sector is basically to carry out technical policy formulation, facilitation, coordination, monitoring and evaluation of social rehabilitation services. The provision of this halfway house is basically to carry out control in the city of Medan to reduce the number of homeless people and beggars in the city of Medan. The method for writing this journal is using the group work social work method.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Penelitian ini membahas tentang pembelajaran efektif merupakan sebuah proses perubahan seseorang dalam tingkah laku dari hasil pembelajaran yang ia dapatkan dari pengalaman dirinya dan dari lingkungannya yang membawa pengaruh, makna, dan manfaat tertentu. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui penerapan sistem belajar yang efektif dengan program mentoring di Rumah Baca Qur’an Ummu Hasna. Implementasi Mentoring di Rumah Baca Qura’an Ummu Hasna yang terus bertumbuh berhasil meningkatkan kemampuan diri siswa dalam menyesuaikan dirinya dengan perubahan-perubahan yang berkembang dan mau mendengarkan arahan guru serta orang yang berkepentingan lainnya, serta meningkatkan efektivitas dalam pembelajaran. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif kualitatif. Kemudian data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan teknik-teknik pengumpulan data yang tepat. Untuk itu dalam penelitian ini penulis menggunakan teknik atau metode observasi, wawancara, dan dokumentasi. Sedangkan, Analisis data penelitian ini dilakukan dengan empat jalur yang bersamaan yaitu : Pengumpulan data, reduksi data, penyajian data, penarikan kesimpulan atau verifikasi.

Abstract

Casework is a process used by humanitarian service agencies to assist individuals in addressing social functioning issues. This process includes several stages: engagement, assessment, planning, intervention, evaluation, and termination. This study examines the application of the casework method with a client named SM, a 30-year-old widow with two children facing economic and social limitations. Through interviews and observations using the BPSS (Bio, Psycho, Social, Spiritual) approach, the practitioner assessed the client’s condition, revealing that SM struggled with economic difficulties and challenges in providing adequate care for her children. In the intervention stage, SM was provided with a program to develop weaving skills, which led to the production of woven mats, curtains, and decorations. Monitoring was conducted to ensure that the client adhered to the program, ultimately increasing SM’s income to Rp 40,000 per day. In the termination stage, the cooperation between the practitioner and the client was concluded as the agreed-upon goals had been achieved. This study demonstrates that with the right approach, individuals facing social and economic limitations can develop their potential and improve their well-being.

Abstract

Drug abuse is a social problem that has a wide impact on the psychosocial conditions of individuals and society. One of the efforts to overcome it is through rehabilitation, where social workers have an important role in assisting the recovery process of drug users. This study aims to describe the role of social workers in assisting clients in rehabilitation centers. The study used a qualitative approach with data collection techniques in the form of in-depth interviews and direct observation of assistance activities at the Medan Plus Drug Rehabilitation Foundation. The results of the study showed that social workers play a role in conducting assessments, designing intervention plans, providing individual and group counseling, and assisting the client's social reintegration process. The presence of social workers has been proven to be able to support client recovery in a sustainable manner, both in terms of emotional, social, and preparation for returning to society. This finding emphasizes the importance of optimizing the role of social workers in organizing rehabilitation services so that the client's recovery process becomes more effective and sustainable.
