Abstract

The collaborative literacy program is a strategic effort to improve the quality of education and community empowerment through synergy between schools, Community Reading Gardens (TBM), village government, and student community service programs (KKN). This program was implemented in Bonjeruk Village, Jonggat District, Central Lombok Regency for 45 days, involving the Girang Bace TBM, elementary schools, and the village community. The implementation method used a descriptive qualitative approach through observation, participatory education, and mentoring children in creative literacy activities such as reading aloud, retelling, book reviews, reading-based projects, and literacy and arts competitions. Results showed an increase in children's interest in reading, reading comprehension skills, and the children's courage to express their opinions publicly. Furthermore, the community began to actively participate in supporting village literacy facilities. The collaborative literacy program has proven effective in creating a sustainable literacy ecosystem, strengthening a reading culture, and contributing to human resource development in Bonjeruk Village.

Abstract

The use of natural coarse aggregate in large-scale concrete production can be avoided using recycled coarse aggregate as a substitute for natural aggregate. However, using recycled coarse aggregate can generally affect the quality of concrete. The excessive interfacial transition zone (ITZ) is formed due to the old mortar that is still attached, which is the weakest contact zone in recycled aggregate concrete. The addition of polymers such as Styrene Butadiene Rubber (SBR) to the recycled aggregate concrete mixture is expected to increase the strength in this area. The addition of SBR content of 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 10% to the weight of the mixture water was carried out to review the performance of concrete in terms of its physical properties and mechanical properties. The coarse aggregate used came from recycled coarse aggregate using the Heating-Grinding-Acid Solvent (H-G-A) method. The results of the study show that H-G-A concrete with an additional SBR content of 5% exhibits superior quality compared to normal aggregate concrete. The addition of SBR shows a denser ITS area resulting in the quality of concrete increases.

Abstract

Concrete is a widely used material in civil engineering projects. However, the excessive use of natural coarse aggregates can disrupt environmental balance and generate non-biodegradable concrete waste. An innovative solution to this problem is the use of recycled coarse aggregates. Nevertheless, recycled aggregates often cause microcracks and weak interface transition zones (ITZ) due to the presence of old mortar. This study aims to evaluate the effect of SBR additives on the physical, mechanical, and microscopic properties of concrete using recycled coarse aggregates processed through the heating-grinding (H-G) method, compared to conventional concrete. The research was conducted by varying the SBR content at 0%, 2.5%, 5%, and 10% by weight of mixing water. The results show that H-G concrete with 5% SBR content demonstrated the best performance, closely approaching the properties of normal concrete. Improvements were observed in compressive strength by 5.40%, split tensile strength by 0.59%, modulus of elasticity by 8.59%, and a reduction in water absorption by 5.02% compared to H-G concrete without SBR. Scanning Electron Microscope (SEM) analysis also indicated that the addition of SBR effectively minimized microcracks and improved the quality of the ITZ. In conclusion, the addition of 5% SBR to recycled aggregate concrete significantly enhances its physical and mechanical properties, providing a promising alternative for sustainable construction. The implication of this study is the potential broader application of recycled aggregates with SBR additives to reduce the environmental impact of concrete production.

Abstract

In the implementation of construction projects, particularly the Mataram Mayor's Office Development Project, various risks may lead to cost overruns, delays in project completion, and reduced work quality. During the construction phase, contractors face various uncertainties; therefore, effective risk management is required. This study aims to identify risk sources, conduct risk assessments, and formulate risk mitigation strategies. The method employed in this study is the Risk Breakdown Structure (RBS) for risk identification and the AS/NZS 4360:2004 standard for determining risk levels and categories. The identification results revealed that 44 risk variables were identified in the project. Following the risk assessment, 6 risks were categorized as high risk, 30 risks as medium risk, and 8 risks as low risk. Risk management strategies are implemented through monitoring and supervision to strengthen supply chains, manage logistics, and ensure preparedness in addressing uncertainties such as delays and material shortages. Furthermore, improving work culture, implementing Occupational Health and Safety Management (OHSM), applying systematic change management, enhancing effective communication, and developing adaptive weather planning are key measures to minimize risks and maintain project continuity.
