Abstract

This research was conducted at SMALB Dharma Wanita Pertiwi Bandar Lampung. The subjects of this study were 2 students of hearing impaired class XI. Data analysis techniques are performed by: (1) grouping data into 4 categories: (a) analyzing and understanding problems (b) designing and planning solutions (c) exploring solutions to difficult problems (d) verifying solutions, then reducing data that is not Including in the four categories, (2) present data in the form of narrative text, and (3) summarize the students' deaf mathematical communication. The results of this study indicate that (1) In the stage of analyzing and understanding the problem, students receive direct information received from the problem and convert it into the form of images. (2) At the stage of designing and planning solutions, students look at the problem information to solve the problem so that in their thinking is a global idea of the problem. (3) At the stage of exploring solutions to difficult problems, students work on problems using formulas and methods that are designed and planned in advance. (4) In the stage of verifying the solution, the student simply checks the formula that has been written and checks the answer.

Abstract

It is difficult for junior high school teachers to position and nurture their students who are still in transition in creative thinking when solving math problems. This study evaluates students' creative thinking process based on Wallas model (2014). The four stages of the creative thinking process according to Wallas include the preparatory, incubation, illumination, and verification phases. The purpose of this study is to describe the creative thinking process of students based on their basic ability level in solving math problems. This research applies giving test of geometric crater thinking ability by looking at homogenous student in kemampuandan interview for deepening. Subjects of junior high school students who categorized on the ability of high, medium, and low after the ability test. Variable of this research is the existence of junior high school students in solving math problems. By using qualitative descriptive method, data is analyzed through classification stage, data representation, and conclusion. In order to complete the results of data groupings used interview techniques to perform data triangulation. The results showed 1) there were 23.33% of students not complete and only reached the preparation stage, called the low category category; 2) there are 60% of students reach the illumination stage even though to this stage students take a long time, called the middle category category; And 3) 16.67% of students have been completed until the verification stage, called the high category category. Based on the deepening of the triangulation of the interviews, the students are correct in that category. For students with low and medium capability categories still require assistance when experiencing barriers to their creative thinking process, while high ability category students need enrichment material

Abstract

Flipped Classroom model is a model where in the learning process is not like in general, that is in the learning process students learn the subject matter at home before the class begins and teaching and learning activities in the class in the form of tasks, discussion about materials or problems that students have not understood. The purpose of this study is to determine the effect of Flipped Classroom model on the ability of understanding mathematical concepts. This research type used Quasi Experiment Design research and sampling technique used is Probability Sampling method with Random Sampling technique. Hypothesis test used in this research is t-test. The result of statistical test shows that the value of t_hitung based on the calculation obtained t_hitung = 12.868, and t_tabel = 1.668 so t_hitung> t_tabel, with a real level of 0.05 in other words it can be concluded that the understanding of mathematical concepts of students who expected model Flipped Classroom is better than the ability to understand concepts that are applied with lecture methods

Abstract

This study was aimed to improve the ability of critical thinking mathematically through the application of Education Coins Of Mathematics Competition (E-COC) model in class X students. This research is Quasy Experimental Design research. The sampling technique was done by simple random class. Technique of collecting data by using test. Data analysis techniques used t-test. The prerequisite analysis test was performed by Liliefors method for normality test, Bartlett test for homogeneity test and N-Gain. Based on normality test results by using Liliefors test, homogeneity test with Bartlett and N-Gain test, it was found that the test result data from both groups were normal homogeneous and there was an increase in N-Gain. So for testing the hypothesis can be used t-test. Result of research and data analysis obtained t_hitung= 2,704 at N-Gian, while t_tabel=1,999. Therefore t_hitung>t_tabel then H rejected H1 accepted, meaning there was difference of improvement of critical thinking ability of mathematical student’s using model of Education Coins Of Mathematics Education (E-COC) and conventional learning model. Based on the research, it can be concluded the application of Education Coins Of Mathematics Education (E-COC) model can be improved the critical thinking ability of student’s.
