Abstract

Nursing competency test is a process that must be passed by nursing students to measure the suitability between knowledge, skills and student behavior against competency standards of graduates who meet work competency standards. Only students who pass the competency test are able to enter health services. Passing competency test is certainly influenced by various aspects, some of them are GPA and study period. Both of these things are an important role in the teaching and learning process that a student goes through. GPA is an indicator to assess learning achievement and the length of study is the time taken by the student to complete his studies. However, recently there has been an assumption among students that a high GPA does not guarantee in passing competency test and a prolonged study period does not prevent students from first passing the competency test, therefore researchers are interested in seeing the correlation of the two things. Objective The aim of the reasearch was to determine the correlation between Grade Point Average (GPA) and the period of study toward passing the Nursing Competency Test in Nursing Departement of the Health Polytechnic of the Ministry of Health in Mamuju. Method This research is an analytic study with cross sectional design using secondary data. This research used total sampling with a sample size of 138. The Result showed that GPA had p<0,001 with correlation r= 0,908 and the study period had p<0,001 with correlation r=0,291. The Conclusion of the research is GPA had positive corelation very strong and the study period also had positive corelation but poor corelation.

Abstract

As an archipelago country, Indonesia has almost 70% of its territory consisting of the sea, and most of the population has a livelihood as fishermen. Traditional fishermen generally are at risk of experiencing barotrauma and decompression due to the low of knowledge and lack of dive facilities. This activity aims to improve fisherman divers’ knowledge on barotrauma dna decompression management. Educational methods applied such as teaching, roleplay and discussion. There are 50 traditional fishermen who voluntarily participated, 43 participants (86.0%) have good knowledge about barotrauma and decompression prevention and management, 20 participants (40%) can demonstrate Basic Life Support by guidance, and 12 participants (24%) were able to demonstrate independently. It is hoped that from this activity the fisherman divers community more familiar and understand about barotrauma and decompression as risks from traditionally diving activities.

Abstract

Introduction: Pressure ulcers (PU) are a common complication among stroke patients, especially those with limited mobility. Proper nursing interventions, such as regular lateral repositioning, play a crucial role in preventing these injuries. However, the optimal angle and frequency of repositioning remain subjects of ongoing research. Objective: This systematic review aims to synthesize evidence on the effectiveness of various lateral positions and repositioning intervals in reducing the risk of PU in stroke patients. Method: This review follows PRISMA guidelines. Literature searches were conducted using databases such as PubMed, ScienceDirect, and Google Scholar, focusing on studies investigating lateral positioning interventions for stroke patients. Inclusion criteria consisted of studies published in English and Indonesian, with no publication year restrictions, covering any stroke subtype. We framed the research questions using PICO elements and analyzed the selected articles with the CASP checklist, classifying them based on levels of evidence and recommendation strength. Results: Seven studies were included in the final analysis, with four conducted in Indonesia and three from international sources. The findings indicate that a 30° lateral tilt is more effective than a 90° angle in preventing PU. Additionally, repositioning every 2–3 hours significantly reduces the risk, while repositioning every 3–4 hours presents a cost-effective alternative without increasing risk. An economic analysis highlighted substantial savings with repositioning every 3 hours compared to every 2 hours.Recommendation: Lateral repositioning at a 30° angle and 3–4-hour intervals provides an optimal balance between effectiveness and cost-efficiency in preventing PU among stroke patients. Further research with larger sample sizes and robust designs is recommended to strengthen the evidence base.
