Abstract

Background and purpose: The COVID-19 pandemic has brought about new-normal conditions across all sectors. At the onset of the return to offline learning, new health protocol regulations were introduced. This study aimed to predict student behaviour in the post-COVID-19 learning process using the Health Belief Model (HBM) within a restricted face-to-face learning context.  Methods: This cross-sectional survey involved 331 students from both public and private universities in South Sumatra Province, selected through convenience sampling from those participating in post-pandemic face-to-face learning. Data were collected between April and July 2022 using an online questionnaire that covered sociodemographic characteristics and perceptions based on the HBM framework. Descriptive analysis was conducted, and behavioural predictions were tested using Structural Equation Modelling (SEM).  Results: The majority of participants were female (54.4%), aged 18–21 years (64.4%), predominantly undergraduate students (84%), and residing in Palembang (63.3%). Regarding vaccination status, 54.4% had received the second dose, 39% the third dose, 5.7% only the first dose, and 0.9% were unvaccinated. Perceived benefits (β=0.129, p=0.034), cues to action (β=0.319, p<0.001), and self-efficacy (β=0.442, p<0.001) were found to be significant predictors of students’ compliance with health protocols.  Conclusion: Students’ compliance with health protocols is influenced by health-related information and their level of self-efficacy. The Health Belief Model proves effective in predicting this behaviour in a post-COVID-19 context. Policymakers are encouraged to promote compliance to health protocols through positive messaging, such as public service announcements.

Abstract

Military personnel performance is a crucial factor in achieving operational effectiveness, especially at the TNI AL IV Batam Main Base. Although adaptability and dual positions have been shown to have a significant effect on personnel performance, there is a knowledge gap regarding how superior support can moderate the relationship. This study aims to analyze the effect of adaptability on personnel performance, with superior support as a moderating variable, which is a new aspect and has not been widely studied in the military context. A quantitative approach was used in this study, using the Structural Equation Modeling (SEM) method through AMOS software. Data were obtained from 30 respondents who were military personnel at the TNI AL IV Batam Main Base. The results showed that adaptability and dual positions had a positive and significant effect on personnel performance. In addition, superior support was shown to moderate the relationship between adaptability and dual positions with performance, strengthening the influence of both factors. The model used in this study also showed good fit, so it can be relied on to explain the relationship between variables. These findings fill the gap in previous research and emphasize the importance of developing adaptability, effective dual-job management, and superior support in order to improve the performance of military personnel in a dynamic and challenging work environment

Abstract

This study aimed to investigate the impact of job placement and job loyalty on employee performance at the Palembang State Attorney's Office. The research background indicates that effective human resource management, including proper job placement and fostering job loyalty, is essential for organizational success, especially in law enforcement agencies where performance directly affects public service delivery. The population comprised all 134 employees at the office. The sample was selected using purposive sampling, excluding Echelon III (Head of the District Attorney), Echelon IV (Head of Section), and Echelon V (Head of Affairs) positions, as these are determined by the Attorney General's Office of Indonesia. The respondents included 117 employees in functional and executive roles. Multiple linear regression analysis revealed that both job placement and job loyalty positively and significantly affect employee performance. It is recommended that job placement be evaluated to ensure alignment with employees' educational levels. Additionally, while loyalty to work is essential, not all tasks require teamwork. The Palembang State Prosecutor's Office is encouraged to provide job-specific training to enhance employee performance. The study concludes that optimizing job placement and encouraging job loyalty can significantly enhance the overall performance of employees, leading to better organizational outcomes.
