Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study examines how Islamic Religious Education ( ) is implemented to prevent bullying in elementary schools. It focuses on value integration in instruction, Islamic habituation, and the role of teachers as moral mediators. Methodology: A qualitative multi-site case study was conducted in three elementary schools in Tulungagung Regency representing urban, semi-urban, and rural contexts. Data were collected from 3 principals, 6 teachers, and 15 Grade IV–VI students through interviews, participatory observation, and documentation. The interactive model of Miles, Huberman, and Saldaña was used for analysis. Main Findings: Three findings emerged. First, the integration of ukhuwah, tawadhu', and rahmah values into instruction built students' anti-violence awareness. Second, Islamic habituation programmes reduced verbal aggression consistently. Third, teachers' competency served as the key determinant of programme success. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study introduces a three-layer implementative model curricular integration, institutional habituation, and teacher mediation that extends the whole-school approach with a spiritual- teacher dimension. It also identifies Islamic-based restorative dialogue as a distinctive mediation technique not previously documented in -based bullying prevention literature.

Abstract

Purpose of the study: This study aims to highlight the important role of Islamic Religious Education in shaping moderate religious character among students, as well as to explore the integration of moderate religious values and the application of Project-Based Learning (PjBL) in the Islamic Religious Education curriculum at Bhinneka PGRI University, Indonesia. Methodology: The methodology used was a qualitative approach with a case study design, involving 50 students from various study programmes who took Islamic Religious Education courses. Data were collected through in-depth interviews, observations, and document analysis, which were then comprehensively analysed. Main Findings: The results showed that the implementation of PjBL significantly improved the understanding and application of moderation values through collaborative interaction and practical involvement in social projects. In addition, PjBL also served as an effective tool in strengthening attitudes of tolerance and inclusiveness among students. Novelty/Originality of this study: This study offers an innovative approach to the development of the IRE curriculum, integrating religious moderation values through the PjBL methodology. These findings make an important contribution to educational institutions in creating a moderate and socially responsible younger generation in the digital age.

Abstract

Innovative anti-corruption education in the digital age requires integrating technology to effectively engage young people in understanding corruption’s dangers. This study explores the application of a Learning Management System (LMS) in anti-corruption education through a student-centered, team-based project learning approach. A qualitative case study was conducted at Universitas Bhinneka PGRI and STKIP PGRI Trenggalek, involving 55 students, two lecturers, and leaders of related universities. Data were gathered via interviews, documentation, and observations and analyzed interactively. The results indicated that LMS facilitated increased student engagement in anti-corruption learning, particularly through discussion forums and project-based activities. However, challenges such as technology access and student comfort with digital learning emerged. The study recommends expanding LMS usage in anti-corruption education, with additional support through technology training and improved accessibility. This approach can enhance the effectiveness, relevance, and sustainability of anti-corruption education, better equipping future generations to combat corruption.

Abstract

Cases of sexual violence against children in Indonesia continue to rise, with primary school pupils being the most vulnerable group. Cultural stigma, which regards sexuality education as a taboo subject, exacerbates this vulnerability due to limited communication about self-protection within both school and family environments. This community service initiative aims to enhance pupils’ knowledge, awareness and protective skills, whilst equipping teachers with appropriate communication strategies for sexuality education. The activity was held on 16 May 2026 at SDN 1 Beji, Boyolangu Sub-district, Tulungagung Regency, involving around 60 participants comprising pupils and teachers. The programme employed an educational-participatory approach using methods such as interactive lectures, group discussions, case studies, and question-and-answer sessions, supported by edutainment media including animated videos, role-plays, scenario cards, and educational songs. The activity took place in three stages: preparation, implementation, and evaluation. The results of the participant feedback questionnaire showed a very positive response, with an average rating of ‘very good’ above 86% across all assessment aspects. Teachers expressed a strong commitment to building a protective environment for children. This programme is recommended for institutionalisation as a sustainable collaboration between schools and families in efforts to prevent sexual violence against children at an early stage.
