Abstract

Farmers have heavy work demands, so farmers are at risk of injury and work-related illnesses such as mental stress disorder. This study analyzed the relationship between self-efficacy and work stress in tobacco farmers. The research design used is the analytic correlation with a cross-sectional approach. The sampling technique uses probability sampling with cluster sampling. The sample for this research is tobacco farmers who are members of the farmers' group, with a sample size of 100 respondents. The instrument used in this study was the GSE (General Self-efficacy) Questionnaire to measure self-efficacy in tobacco farmers. The DASS 42 Questionnaire (Depression, Anxiety, Stress, Scale) was used to measure work stress—data analysis using the Pearson test correlation test. The average tobacco farmer has high Self-Efficacy and low work stress. The results of the Pearson test, namely the p-value of 0.001 with a correlation value of -0.419, show a relationship between self-efficacy and work stress with a moderate correlation level with a negative correlation direction. Nurses are expected to carry out counseling activities for tobacco farmers to prevent work stress and increase self-efficacy in tobacco farmers.

Abstract

Clean and Healthy Living Behavior (Perilaku Hidup Bersih dan Sehat / PHBS) in schools is an effort to create a healthy environment in schools that is aware of preventing disease, improving health, and being active in maintaining a healthy environment in schools independently. This service aims to increase the awareness, attitudes, and PHBS skills of Tempurejo youth by counseling on clean and healthy living behavior based on the SI-TeSa mobile application. The quasi-experiment used pre-post and post-test questionnaires with research indicators, namely knowledge and attitudes, by dividing respondents into a control group (n=30) and an intervention group (n=30). Simple random sampling with a total of 60 respondents based on G power analysis (effect size 0.3, α err probability 0.05, power 0.95). Educational intervention program with PHBS education as well as two demonstrations including the 6 steps for washing hands and reviewing the SI-TeSa (Sistem Informasi Terampil Kesehatan) mobile application. The results of the pre-post Wilcoxon test for the intervention group showed a sig value <0.001 (p = 0.05). This indicates that there is an influence of education on clean and healthy living behavior based on the SI-TeSa mobile application. Meanwhile, the control group showed a sig value of 0.124 (p=0.05), indicating that there was no influence of education on clean and healthy living behavior. There was a significant increase in knowledge and attitude scores before and after the SI-TeSa mobile application-based healthy living behavior counseling was carried out.

Abstract

Indonesia is home to various natural disasters, including earthquakes and tsunamis, due to its location in the Ring of Fire. Jember Regency in East Java is one of the areas with a high risk of these disasters. Sabrang Village, bordering the South Coast of Jember, has the potential to become a disaster-resilient village. This program aims to increase disaster preparedness for children on the south coast, optimize partner empowerment in increasing child preparedness, and establish a Disaster Empowerment Center (DEC) in Sabrang Village. The DEC program was implemented over three months, involving coastal children. Methods included education, training, and empowerment through Communication, Information, and Education (IEC) and disaster simulation training. Program evaluation used a preparedness questionnaire covering participants' knowledge, attitudes, and skills. The DEC program succeeded in increasing disaster preparedness for children in Sabrang Village. Collaboration with the village government, public health center, and other partners was crucial to the program's success. DEC implementation can serve as a model for community empowerment in dealing with earthquakes and tsunamis.

Abstract

Heart disease is a leading cause of death globally, including in Indonesia, with an increasing prevalence in rural farming communities. Risk factors such as pesticide use, unhealthy diets, and poor lifestyles contribute to the high incidence of this disease. Communities in Bondowoso, East Java, especially farmers, need educational and training interventions to improve their knowledge and skills in preventing and treating heart disease. This program aims to improve the knowledge and skills of rural farming communities in the prevention, treatment, and early management of heart disease, including Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) skills. The program is carried out through education on hypertension, heart disease, and heart diet, followed by practical training on CPR using audiovisual media and live demonstrations. The evaluation was carried out with a pretest and posttest to measure the increase in knowledge, as well as an assessment of practical skills. The results obtained were a significant increase in community knowledge measured from the results of the pretest and posttest, indicating the effectiveness of the education method. Community CPR skills also increased significantly after training and practical assessment. This program has succeeded in improving the knowledge and skills of rural farming communities in the prevention and treatment of heart disease, as well as CPR skills, which contribute to the long-term health of the community.

Abstract

Coastal areas in Jember Regency have a high risk of getting a big impact if an earthquake and tsunami. These potential disasters force all elements to be prepared to face disasters that can arise anytime, including nurses in the Coastal Public Health Center of Jember. Self-efficacy is thought to have a relationship in improving nurse preparedness in dealing with disaster situations. The aim of this research is to analyze and describe the relationship between the self-efficacy of coastal nurses and the level of preparedness of nurses in dealing with earthquakes and tsunamis in Jember. This study was a correlational research study with a cross-sectional approach. The population of this study was 161 nurses. The sampling method used was convenience sampling, with the total number of nurses participating in this study was 144. We used two main questionnaires to collect the data: the General Self-Efficacy (GSE) and the Disaster Preparedness Evaluation Tool (DPET). We analyzed the data using Pearson Product moment with a significant level (α) =0.05. We found a significant correlation between the disaster preparedness and self-efficacy of the coastal nurse in Jember with a p-value of 0,008 (< 0.05). The degree of relationship was 0.619, which is considered significant and positive. There is a relationship between self-efficacy and nurse preparedness in dealing with disasters. The association is in a positive direction, meaning that the higher the level of self-efficacy, the higher the nurse's disaster preparedness.
