Abstract

Abstract Euphemism is a more subtle expression as a substitute for an expression that is considered harsh which aims to protect the feelings of a particular individual or group. In line with this statement, this research examines the forms and functions of euphemisms in the speeches of the 2024 presidential candidates on Kompas TV YouTube. The aim of this research is to identify euphemisms in terms of form and function in speech. The data source in this research is a video on the Kompas TV YouTube account from July 15 2023 to January 7 2024. The video supporting the data was taken using documentation, listening and note-taking techniques. The video collection procedure begins by searching for news topics related to the speech topics of the 2024 presidential candidates during speeches from competing ideas, declarations, political speeches and even the 2024 presidential candidate debates. Each news topic selected is then transcribed. Data analysis uses data reduction, data presentation and conclusions. The research results concluded that in terms of form, euphemisms were found in the categories of foreign terms, abbreviations, acronyms, periphrases, litotes and metaphors. Then, in terms of function, we found euphemisms that refine speech, educational degrees, and protect uncertain statements. Abstract

A teacher plays an important role in improving students’ knowledge and skills. Knowledge is a collection of information, facts, and understanding from experience, education, or research. Knowledge can be theoretical or practical and covers various fields, such as natural sciences, social sciences, humanities, and technology. An indicator of success in teaching is the effectiveness of learning, including in Indonesian subjects. Indonesian subject learning increases students’ interest in writing. The Course Review Horay (CRH) model effectively increases student motivation and learning outcomes. This research analyzes the influence of CRH with word card media on the descriptive text writing skills of 2nd-grade elementary school students. The method used was quantitative, with a quasi-experimental design (Quasi-Experimental Research) using a post-test-only control design, involving 54 students in 2nd grade of classes A and C. Maximum control class 71, minimum 25; experiment maximum 83, minimum 25. Analysis shows that the average descriptive text writing skill of CRH students without word cards is 45.63, showing the impact of the CRH model with word cards in the SDN Margorejo 1/403 Surabaya class

Abstract

ABSTRACTThe ability to understand literal reading is a crucial foundation in Indonesian language learning at the elementary school level. However, initial observations at SDN Babatan 1 No. 456 showed that out of 56 students participating in reading activities, 39 students struggled to convey the message from the given texts. This study aimed to describe the effect of using Next Level Card (NLC) media in collaborative learning on students' literal reading comprehension skills in grade IV. This study uses a quantitative method with a non-equivalent control group design type of quasi-experimental design. The study population consisted of grade IV students from SDN Babatan 1 No. 456, with a sample of 24 students divided into experimental and control groups. Data were collected through essay tests conducted before and after the treatment. This study shows that using NLC media in collaborative learning significantly affects fourth-grade students' literal reading comprehension. The hypothesis test results indicate a sig value of 0.000 (<0.05), meaning H0 is rejected and H1 is accepted. The experimental class's average score increased by 16.33, higher than the control class's 6.5 increase. These results confirm that NLC media is an innovative alternative to improving students' reading comprehensionKeywords: Question Cards, Collaborative Learning, Literal Reading ComprehensionABSTRAKKemampuan membaca pemahaman literal adalah dasar penting dalam pembelajaran Bahasa Indonesia di tingkat sekolah dasar. Namun, hasil observasi awal siswa kelas IV SDN Babatan 1 No 456 menunjukkan bahwa dari 56 siswa yang mengikuti kegiatan membaca, sebanyak 39 siswa tidak mampu menyampaikan pesan dari bacaan yang diberikan. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan pengaruh penggunaan media Next Level Card (NLC) dalam pembelajaran kolaboratif terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman literal siswa kelas IV. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode kuantitatif dengan desain quasi-experimental jenis non-equivalon control group design. Populasi penelitian adalah siswa kelas IV SDN Babatan 1 No. 456, dengan sampel sebanyak 24 siswa yang terbagi dalam kelas eksperimen dan kelas kontrol. Data dikumpulkan melalui tes uraian yang dilakukan sebelum dan sesudah perlakuan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan penggunaan media NLC dalam pembelajaran kolaboratif memberikan pengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan membaca pemahaman literal siswa kelas IV. Hal tersebut didasarkan pada hasil uji hipotesis pre-test post-test kelas eksperimen menunjukkan nilai sig sebesar 0,000 (<0,05) sehingga H0 ditolak dan H1 diterima. Selain itu, hasil tersebut diperkuat oleh nilai rata-rata pre-test ke post-test kelas eksperimen mengalami kenaikan sebesar 16,33  lebih tinggi dibandingkan kenaikan kelas kontrol yang hanya naik sebesar 6,5. Dengan demikian, dapat disimpulkan media NLC terbukti dapat menjadi alternatif inovatif dalam mempengaruhi kemampuan membaca pemahaman literal siswa kelas IV sekolah dasar.Kata Kunci: Kartu Soal, Pembelajaran Kolaboratif, Membaca Pemahaman Literal

Abstract

The purpose of the Community Service activity by the team of lecturers of Elementary School Teacher Education, Faculty of Education, Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya is to improve teacher competency in knowledge, designing tools, designing deep learning assessments. Teachers who participated in this workshop were able to understand the concept and practice of deep learning better, and were able to implement it in good practice in their respective classes. The results of the analytical discussion that has been described above, it can be concluded that all teachers who participated in the PPM activity by the team of lecturers of the Elementary School Teacher Education Study Program were able to improve their ability to understand the urgency of deep learning, design and use deep learning learning tools. good practice experience of deep learning, development of deep learning learning assessments, and improve the skills of compiling deep learning assessments in elementary schools.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi merupakan salah satu poin penting dalam Kurikulum Merdeka. Oleh karena itu, rancangan modul ajar yang dibuat guru harus dapat memfasilitasi keberagaman kemampuan, minat, bakat, dan gaya belajar siswa. ASSURE sebagai model pengembangan modul ajar dirasa tepat digunakan karena memperhatikan keberagaman karakter siswa. Tujuan penelitian ini, yaitu mendeskripsikan kemampuan para mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Indonesia dalam mengembangkan modul ajar berdiferensiasi dengan model ASSURE. Pendekatan yang digunakan deskriptif kualitatif. Data penelitian berupa ketepatan isi modul ajar berdiferensiasi yang dikembangkan dengan model ASSURE. Sumber data penelitian ini, yaitu 21 mahasiswa yang sedang menempuh mata kuliah Perencanaan Pembelajaran Bahasa dan Sastra Indonesia. Pengumpulan data menggunakan teknik dokumentasi. Modul ajar yang dikembangkan mahasiswa dianalisis dengan teknik deskriptif; dengan menggunakan prinsip-prinsip model ASSURE, meliputi menganalisis karakteristik peserta didik (A); menetapkan tujuan (S); memilih metode, media, dan materi (S); menggunakan metode, media, dan materi (U); melibatkan keterlibatan peserta didik (R); mengevaluasi dan merevisi (E). Ketepatan isi modul ajar menjadi dasar untuk mendeskripsikan kemampuan para mahasiswa. Penganalisisan data menggunakan teknik deskriptif dibantu dengan penghitungan berupa persentase. Keabsahan data menggunakan triangulasi sumber. Hasil penelitian memberi informasi bahwa kemampuan para mahasiswa dalam mengembangkan modul ajar berdiferensiasi dengan model ASSURE memiliki kriteria ‘cukup’. Hal tersebut berdasarkan skor ketepatan isi modul ajar berdiferensiasi dengan model ASSURE yang dikembangkan oleh mahasiswa program studi pendidikan bahasa Indonesia di Universitas PGRI Adi Buana Surabaya mencapai 69%. Pengembangan yang berhubungan dengan media tidak ada kendala, tetapi pengembangan yang berhubungan dengan materi dan metode masih ada kendala.

Abstract

Keterbatasan bertutur anak borderline personality disorder menyebabkan anak menunjukkan deletation tuturan. Salah satu deletation tuturan pada anak borderline personality disorder adalah deletation kata. Penulisan artikel ini bertujuan mendeskripsikan deletation kata pada tuturan anak borderline personality disorder. Metode penelitian deskriptif kualitatif digunakan dalam penelitian ini. Sumber data penelitian ini adalah satu anak borderline personality disorder. Pengumpulan data yang digunakan dalam penelitian ini meliputi observasi, pemancingan, perekaman, dan catatan lapangan. Adapun tahap-tahap pengumpulan data adalah melakukan observasi, merekam tuturan, mentranskrip tuturan, dan memvalidasi data. Metode yang digunakan dalam penganalisisan data yaitu metode padan. Hasil temuan data penelitian ini adalah anak borderline personality disorder masih menunjukkan deletation kata. Pada bentuk kata, subjek masih menunjukkan deletation kata seperti bentuk prefiks seperti me-, ber-, sufiks seperti -an; kata tanya seperti kapan; kata seperti aku, minta, bola, tidak, dan sebagainya. Dari hasil temuan data, subjek masih belum mampu menunjukkan tuturan yang sempurna. Kata-kata kunci: deletation, tuturan, anak borderline personality disorder

Abstract

This study aims to describe the effect of the Think Talk Write (TTW) model on the writing skills of fifth grade students in Indonesian language subjects in elementary schools. This study applies a quantitative research with the True Experimental Design method, involving the manipulation of independent variables and random assignment of participants to experimental and control groups using the Pretest-Posttest Control Group Design research design. The population for this study were grade V students of SDN Sedatigede 2, totaling 84 students with a sample of 54 students. This study utilized two classes, namely class VA as the control class and for the experimental class, namely class VB. The data collection instrument utilized the pretest posttest. The data analysis technique used normality test, homogeneity test, and T-test. The result of this study is that there is an effect of TTW model on the writing skills of recon text as evidenced by the pre-test value of 58.65 and the post-test value of 71.05. There is a difference in the test results of the ability to write recon text between students before and after being treated with the TTW model with a Sig. (2-tailed) of 0.00 <0.05 which means H0 is rejected while Ha is accepted. Based on the test results above, a conclusion can be draw that there is an effect of the TTW learning model on the recon text writing skills of grade V students at SDN Sedatigede 2.

Abstract

Early reading skills are a fundamental aspect of basic education that plays an important role in students' academic development. However, according to the results of observations in class 1C of SDN Ngagelrejo 1/396 Surabaya, it is known that the majority of students experience challenges in reading basicly. Therefore, creative learning methods are needed to improve students' reading skills. The focus of this study is to improve the early reading ability of grade 1C students at SDN Ngagelrejo 1/396 Surabaya by utilizing word card media. This study applied a classroom action research method based on the Kemmis and McTaggart models, which included the planning phases, implementation of actions, observation, and reflection applied in two cycles. The study subjects consisted of 28 students who were selected according to the results of observations and preliminary tests that showed the need for improvement in reading ability. Data is collected through testing, observation, and documentation. The findings of the study indicate that the application of card media in a structured and intensive manner has a positive impact on improving students' reading skills. In the pre-action, only 42.86% of students obtained an average score but after cycle II, the figure increased to 85.71%. In addition, students' reading ability experienced an increase in average score from 67.25 in the pre-action to 83.21 in the second cycle. This improvement indicates that word cards as an attractive learning medium and supported by intensive teacher guidance can effectively improve students' initial reading skills.

Abstract

The low critical reading skills are the main background of this research, especially in expository texts and the inaccurate use of learning methods. As an alternative to improve critical reading skills, the SQ3R method (Survey, Question, Read, Recite, Review) is the best method chosen because it actively involves students during implementation so they can understand what has been read. This study aims to determine the effect of the SQ3R learning method on students' critical reading skills in expository texts. This research design uses a quantitative research type with a quasi-experimental research method. Non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design was chosen as the research design by involving two classes, namely the experimental class (class V A students) and the control class (class V B students) at SDN Dukuh Menanggal 01/424 Surabaya. Data were collected through the results of the pre-test and post-test which included 10 essay questions. The analysis techniques used were normality test, homogeneity test, and Independent Sample T-Test based on SPSS 25. The study resulted in a statement that the SQ3R learning method has an influence on students' critical reading skills with 0.000 <0.605 as a demonstration of significance value. Comparison of posttest scores between the experimental class with a value of 73.26 while the control class was 47.5 resulting in a difference of 25.76, it can be proven that there is an influence of the SQ3R learning method on critical reading skills of expository texts of fifth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Many elementary students still struggle to write procedure texts due to limited experience, making them unfamiliar with appropriate text structures and formats. Additionally, the use of less effective learning models contributes to their inability to produce grammatically correct and well-structured texts to clearly convey procedures. This research aims to examine the impact of the Pair Check learning model on fourth-grade students’ ability to write procedure texts. The study employed a quasi-experimental method with a non-equivalent pretest-posttest control group design. The population consisted of fourth-grade students at SDN Dukuh Menanggal 01/424 Surabaya, with 49 students from classes IV A and IV B selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected via pretests and posttests, then analyzed using an independent samples t-test. The results revealed a significant influence of the Pair Check model on students' writing skills, supported by a p-value of 0.000 (<0.05). Furthermore, the experimental class showed an increase in the average score from 41 (pretest) to 53.57 (posttest), marking a 12.57-point improvement.
