Abstract

. Grammatical errors on thesis almost happen in the entire thesis chapters. This case need to be analyzed in descriptive qualitative design. The purpose of the research was to find out grammatical errors types and factors influence it. The samples were selected randomly; 18 theses and students. Interview and documentation were as the instruments to collect data. The data were analyzed by indicators of the experts’ theories. Finding showed that error occurred in tenses, preposition, and punctuation. The most error was error in tenses. Causes of errors were inter-lingual transfer (mother tongue), intra-lingual, careless, and translation. Carelessness was the main cause of errors. The findings was as references in teaching grammar subject.Keywords: Grammatical Error, Causes of Errors, Thesis

Abstract

Abstract. Studying pronunciation is little bit hard than other skill cause need practice and need new method to engage students’ ability. For those the researcher apply audio-lingual method to engage students’ pronunciation ability. This research aims to see the effect of audio-lingual method to students’ pronunciation. This research is quasi experimental research; nonequivalent control group design. They are thirdly eight students. Twenty students are in regular class and eighteen students are in non-regular class. Experiment class is taught Audio-lingual method   and   Control   class   is   taught   conventional technique. The data will be analyzed by using independent t-test. Abstract

In the field of education, the Covid-19 pandemic has had a significant impact on the learning process. Interaction and face-to-face processes in the classroom cannot take place as they should. Therefore, several government policies in educational institutions to stop the spread of COVID-19 include an appeal for all students and teachers to carry out the learning and teaching process from home. This of course raises new problems where the activities of teachers in preparing interactive learning strategies, techniques and media remotely through online media certainly cannot all be mastered. Moreover, interactive learning media that have so far relied a lot on software or programs on computers and the internet. For teaching staff or teachers in schools, especially in basic education, competence and skills in using interactive learning media are needed as are teachers at SDN 020 Rambah Hilir. In this training, the applications that were socialized were the Google Classroom and Zoom Meeting applications. With this training, the output targets achieved are increasing the knowledge, skills and competencies of SDN 020 Rambah Hilir teachers in using E-Learning as an interactive learning medium to support the teaching and learning process in the current New Normal Era.

Abstract

The purposes of this research were to find out effect of OSTS strategy on students reading comprehension and students’ participation. There are four hypotheses formulated, First, There is no significant difference on the students’ reading comprehension pre-test mean score between experimental group and control group. Second, there is no significant difference on the students’ reading comprehension posttest mean score between experimental group and control group. Third, there is no significant different on the students’ reading comprehension pre-test and post-test mean score of the experimental group. Fourth, there is no significant different on the students’ participation in teaching and learning reading comprehension of experimental group before and after using one stay two strays strategy. The population was the grade X SMAN 2 Rambah Hilir. There are 4 classes. By using cluster random sampling, it was found that X C as try out class, X B as experimental class and X A as the control. This research was conducted by using quasi experiment. The researcher used test as the instrument and analyzed by using T-test. The result shows that one stay two strays could improve students’ reading comprehension and participation.

Abstract

This research discussed about the moral values as found out in the last leaf short story. Moral values were found out by using sociological theory. This research used method descriptive qualitative. This instrument used was the short story of The Last Leaf. The researcher also used other information about moral values. Researchers also use the theory of moral values in orderto better know what moral values are contained in the short story of The Last Leaf. Based on the sociological approach, there are three perspectives: functional perspective, symbol perspective, conflict perspective. After analyzing the researcher found some moral values, namely Tolerance, Fairness, Belief, Kind-hearted, honesty, and responsibility.

Abstract

This article is intended to provide a foundation, reference and overview of the state of readiness of teachers in considering the application of the new curriculum (Revison of curricullum: KTSP become K-13), as well as provide information on teachers' perceptions of the curriculum. This article is useful for teachers in portrait as well as provides information on the implementation of the curriculum (K-13 and KTSP). The method used in writing this article is to use qualitative and descriptive study of literature. Data obtained through the study of literature and observation using a structured interview to sample some of the teachers at the elementary school level, junior and senior high schools in Rokan Hulu used randomize sampling. After re-analyzed, the use of curriculum in Rokan Hulu found that more teachers agree with the new curriculum (K13) based on the existing system in K-13, but they were found to in RokanHulu itself is more efficient when using the last curricullum (KTSP) because the school facilities and good infrastructure does not support the implementation of the K-13 runs perfectly. Starting from the statement "if you want to K13, must complete infrastructure and support; develop what is there not to upset or partial". Of this paper is known that the curriculum in 2013 demand for teachers at all levels of schools in the district RokanHulu, but in practice advice and inadequate infrastructure that does not yet support the implementation of K13. Thus the authors recommend to education observers to gradually complete infrastructure for the implementation of K13 running properly.

Abstract

Abstract

This study investigated words formation that found in the republika newspaper. The research was a descriptive qualitative research design . The object of this research was headline of Republika Newspaper. The instrumentation of the reserach was documentation. The data were consisted of 96 data The data were analyzed by using the theory of word formation (O’ Grady, 1996) The results of this research shown that 70 datawere classified as endocentric compound and transparent meaning and 26 data were categorized in exocentric compound and opaque meaning. Transparent meant that the meanings of the words could be predicted from the each of the word. Opaque meant that the meaning of words could not predicted from the each of word.

Abstract

The purpose of the research was to find out the idiomatic expression and to find out the contextual meaning of idiom expression which are used in Adele’s lyrics song. The technique of analyzing the data the researcher used descriptive qualitative. Qualitative research referred to the meaning, concepts, definitions, symbols and description of the things. There are 56 idiomatic expression found in 3 types of idiom those are Phrasal verb idiom, Tournure idiom and Irreversible Binomial idiom. Whereas another idiom could not be found by the researcher during the analysis. This research found the menaing of idiom expression moast as a contextual meaning. The researcher hopes that’s this thesis will be useful for both theoretical and practical source in learning how to translateEnglish Idiom and also for those who conduct further study about analysis of idiomatic expression.
