Abstract

This study aims to improve students' critical thinking skills in the field of biology. The analysis technique in this research is critical thinking skills analysis and observation. This type of research is PTC. The results of the evaluation of students' critical thinking skills with learning disabilities were obtained in the first cycle of 51.51% and in the second cycle 84.85% of the 33 students who passed the critical thinking ability test, and there was an increase in the first cycle to II. is 33.34%. %. The results of student observations also experienced an increase in cycle I of 54.17% and cycle II 89.20% an increase of 35.03%, teacher observations in cycle I 67.19%, cycle II 92.19% an increase of 25%.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the teaching materials developed worthy of use as a teaching material for tissue culture in SMA Negeri 5 Padangsidimpuan based on BNSP assessment criteria. Knowing the effectiveness of biological teaching materials with Student Centered Learning approaches on tissue culture materials as reading material for students of grade XI IPA SMA / MA effective and improve students' biology learning outcomes. This research is research of development of 4D model (four D model) suggested by Thiagrajan et al (1974) with research procedure covering Define, Designe, Develope and Dessiminate. The data obtained in the form of quantitative data validator and qualitative data. The product of this research is tissue culture teaching material for high school / MA students. Based on the results of the study, the average percentage of six validators on the teaching materials of students is 80.69% with the conclusions of the teaching materials worthy of use as teaching materials and this product can be followed by a small revision adding some supporters to optimize the results of the teaching materials by considering the advice and criticism from the validator. Result of questionnaire analysis of student response in general obtained average percentage of 81,24% mean student have been able to comprehend teaching materials that have been developed and effective for use in learning process.

Abstract

Research conducted in the village of Dolok Sordang bordering the Natural Reserve of Dolok Sipirok. Found 21 types of liverworts which contains the thalloid liverworts and leafy liverworts. The family has one of the highest types of variation is Lejeuneaceae (6) followed by the Lepidoziaceae (4), Radulaceae (3), Lophocoliaceae (2), Marchantiaceae (2), Plaghiocilaceae (2), Metzegeriaceae (1) and the Aneuraceae (1). These types found on the substrate and elevation. Research data will be used as a reference to see the diversity of types of liverworts in the Natural Reserve of Dolok Sipirok

Abstract

This community service activity is Science and Technology Guidance and Training of Andaliman Plant Seed Germination Process (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) In Sitaratoit Village. Andaliman (Zanthoxylum acanthopodium DC.) Is a wild plant found in North Sumatra, Indonesia, the Rutaceae family. The Batak people use the fruit as a spice in their traditional cuisine. Breaking the seed dormancy period of andaliman plants is the initial treatment of the seeds intended to start the germination process, this effort can be in the form of physical, mechanical or chemical treatment. Andaliman plant germination is a process of growth and development of embryos that undergo changes where the plumula grows and develops into stems and radicles into roots. Dormancy is a state of stopping growth experienced by a living organism or its part in response to a condition that does not support normal growth. Thus, dormancy is a reaction to certain physical or environmental conditions. The trigger of dormancy can be mechanical, physical, or chemical. Specific objectives achieved were the provision of science and technology about breaking the seed dormancy period of andaliman plants to the people of Sitaratoit Village, Guidance to the Sitaratoit villagers about the seed germination process of andaliman plants, and the training of Sitaratoit villagers to cultivate andaliman plants. Specific target achieved is that the Sitaratoit Village Community can implement the cultivation activities of andaliman plants, andaliman plants in the Sitaratoit Village area can provide economic benefits for the community, andaliman plant management and cultivation are more noticed and known by the local community, and increase the percentage of seed germination of andaliman plants. The methods used in achieving the objectives of this activity are Village Potential Survey, Conducting dialogues through FGD program activities (Focuss Group Disscussion.), And Science and Technology based guidance and training. The stages of this activity are the Breaking of the Dormancy Period of the Seeds of Andaliman Plants, the Making of Planting Media for the Sprouts of Andaliman Plants, and the Making of the Andaliman Plant Shade. The results of this community service activity are the provision of science and technology about breaking the seed dormancy period of andaliman plants for 2 days to 18 people of Sitaratoit Village, 3 people from the village administration, and 3 students from private universities who are carrying out street vendors activities. The Sitaratoit Village community guidance about the process of seed germination of andaliman plants for 1 day the following day was also actively followed by the Sitaratoit Village community. And the training of the Sitaratoit Village community to cultivate andaliman plants for 1 day after 40 days later has also been carried out well and actively followed by the Sitaratoit Village community.Keywords : Andaliman, Seed dormancy, Seed germination.

Abstract

The problem faced is the lack of student interest; this is because biology subjects make students easily bored and assume biology is one of the difficult subjects. At the time of observation the teacher is more dominant in the learning process, so students' creativity is lacking. Learning models are needed that are appropriate learning models so as to be able to increase student creativity in sparking ideas, answers, solving problems or questions, skills in seeing problems from different points of view, the ability to give birth to new and unique expressions and able to improve students' abilities in terms of skills or develop students' ideas in the learning process. This type of research is classroom action research with a Number Head Together (NHT) type of cooperative learning model. The results of the first cycle students' creativity test results 78.94% while in the second cycle increased 5.27% with a percentage of 84.21%, the results of observations on students in the first cycle showed the results of 65.27% experienced an increase of 10.45% in the cycle II with the results of a percentage of 75.72% and the results of observations of the activities of teachers in the first cycle obtained 72% in the second cycle increased by 16% to 88%. From this study it was concluded that through the Number Head Together (NHT) learning model can increase creativity Grade XI student MIA 2 MAN Siabu.Keywords: Creativity, Number Head Together, Classroom Action Research

Abstract

The problem in this research is the concept of critical biological thinking which became one of the most important things in the learning process that is through the application of Contextual Teaching Learning Model (CTL). The reason for this research is to know the improvement of critical thinking of student biology through the application of Contextual Learning Model an the material. The human Regulation system in class XI  IPA1 SMA Negeri 1 North Panyabungan academic year 2016-2017. This type of research is Classroom Action Research. Where the subject of study is the students of class XI IPA1 SMA Negeri 1 North Panyabungan consisting of 25 students. While techniques and data collected. Based on the result of critical thinking test of the biology of students cycle I am 76%, and cycle II is 84,33%, and the result of the increase of student activity in the cycle is I is 68% and cyle II 86,40%.Keywords: Critical thinking of student biology, Contextual Learning model (CTL), human regulatory system.

Abstract

This type of research this is a class action Research (PTK) and application of model-based learning, Structured Dyadic Methods (HR) on the material waste and recycling. Where the subject is students of class X. IPA SMA Negeri 1 Panyabungan North which consists of 25 students. While the techniques and data-collecting instruments namely observation and tests. Learning outcomes tests cycle students Biology I amounted to 76% and cycle II of 84.33%. Increased levels of student activity on the cycle I of 68.00% and cycle II 86.40% then increased the ability of teachers in managing learning cycle I of 75.00% and cycle II 91.00%.  Keywords: class action Research, Structured Dyadic Methods, student activity.

Abstract

Tujuanpenelitianadalah untuk mengetahui efektifitas limbahaircucianberas sebagai pestisida alami terhadap hama ulat daun sawi dan untuk mengetahui jenis-jenis ulat apa saja yang menjadi hama pada tanaman sawi Penelitian menggunakan metode eksperimental. Terdiri atas dua perlakuan yaitu penyemprotan menggunakan  air cucian beras (P1) dan tanpa penyemprotan menggunakan air cucian beras (P0). Parameteryang akandiamatiadalah: jumlah populasi hama ulat daun sawipadasetiaptanamansampelyang telah ditentukan dan jenis ulat yang ditemukan. Waktupengamatandilakukan setiap7hari setelahpenyemprotan air cucian berasyaitu17,24dan31 HST. Datayang diperolehditabulasidan dianalisisdengan menggunakan Uji standar error.Hasilpenelitianmenunjukkan air cucian beras berpengaruh nyata efektif dalam mengendalikan hama ulat daun Plutellaxylostellapadapada pengamatan, 17, 24 dan 31 HST. Rata-rata jumlah ulat daun Plutellaxylostella  pada P0 selalu jauh lebih tinggi dibanding dengan pada perlakuan P1.Penelitianinimembuktikanbahwaair cucian beras efektif sebagai pestisida alami pada tanaman sawi.Kata Kunci : Air cucian Beras, Pestisida alami, Tanaman Sawi

Abstract

Bryophyte is a non-vascular plant, consisting of three classes: mosses, hornworts, and liverworts. The body forms have a thallus, and some have a leaf-like organ. The class division of the Bryophyte division is base on anatomical and morphological traits, such as meristem tissues, stomata, and vascular tissues. M Bryophyte has no vascular tissue, but it has a capillary that has functions like xylem and commonly refers to as hydroid. Mosses and hornworts have stomata on the sporophyte part, while in the liverworts, stomata are not found. Hornworts have a basal meristem that has an unpredictable cleavage. Meristem on the mosses only divides up the formation of sporangial. In the liverworts, the apical meristem does not see. Members of the hornworts consider the most advanced because the meristematic phase is more prolonged, so that it is closer to the characteristics of Tracheophyta group.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini merupakan salah satu program Kuliah Kerja Nyata (KKN) Tematik mahasiswa Universitas Muhammadiyah Tapanuli Selatan (UM Tapsel) yang dilaksanakan di Desa Hutabangun Kabupaten Mandailing Natal pada 26 Oktober 2022 – 16 Januari 2023. Tujuan dari kegiatan ini adalah untuk memberikan  pemahaman tentang stunting. Berdasarkan kegiatan KKN yang dilaksanakan  ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa pemahaman masyarakat stunting di Desa Hutabangun meningkat dengan diadakannya sosialisasi dan pendampingan. Masyarakat juga semakin sadar akan pentingnya kebersihan lingkungan, pemanfaatan lahan kosong dengan menanam sayur-sayuran, memeriksakan kehamilan dan kesehatan anak di Posyandu.
