Abstract

Siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi mempunyai kemampuan berpikir kritis matematika yang rendah, yang diakibatkan oleh metode pengajaran yang berfokus pada guru dan kurang beragam. Salah satu solusi untuk masalah ini ialah menerapkan model Numbered Head Together (NHT) dalam pembelajaran kooperatif. Tujuan utama penelitian ini ialah guna mengetahui sejauh mana siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi menerapkan model Numbered Head Together (NHT) dalam pembelajaran matematika. Penelitian ini ialah studi pra-eksperimental dengan desain perbandingan kelompok statis. Populasi penelitian ini meliputi sembilan kelas siswa kelas VIII SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi. Untuk penelitian ini, peneliti mengaplikasikan sampel yang tersusun dari dua kelas: VIII C selaku kelompok kontrol dan VIII B selaku kelompok eksperimen. Alat yang digunakan adalah alat evaluasi kemampuan siswa dalam berpikir kritis tentang matematika. Analisis statistik t-test digunakan untuk menganalisis data. Menurut analisis data ujian kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa, diputuskan bahwa . Hal ini membuat peneliti menolak , karena . Perhitungan hasil menggunakan perangkat lunak Minitab juga mendukung hal ini, dengan nilai sebesar 0,3 < 0,05 = α. Sebab itu, bisa dirumuskan bahwa siswa kelas VIII di SMP Negeri 4 Bukittinggi memperoleh keuntungan penting pada model pembelajaran kooperatif Numbered Head Together (NHT) dalam menumbuhkan kemampuan berpikir kritis matematis siswa.

Abstract

Penelitian ini dilatarbelakangi oleh permasalahan yang ditemukan di kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru yaitu kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa masih rendah, pembelajaran masih berpusat pada guru, dan model pembelajaran yang digunakan guru belum efektif dalam pembelajaran. Hal ini diduga oleh model pembelajaran yang belum mampu dalam meningkatkan kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa. salah satu cara untuk mengatasi masalah tersebut adalah dengan menerapkan model pembelajaran Course Review Horay (CRH). Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengetahui pengaruh yang signifikan model pembelajaran Course Review Horay (CRH) terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru. Jenis penelitian ini adalah penelitian pra eksperimen dengan rancangan peneitian The Static Grup Comparison Design. Populasi dalam penelitian ini adalah seluruh siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru. Pengemabilan sampel dilakukan secara acak dengan terlebih dahulu melakukan uji normalitas, homogenitas dan kesamaan rata-rata pada data populasi. Sampel dalam penelitian ini adalah siswa XI.F3 sebagai kelas eksperimen dan siswa kelas XI.F2 sebagai kelas kontrol. Instrumen yang digunakan adalah tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis berupa tes uraian. Data yang diperoleh dengan menggunakan analisis statistik uji-t. Dimana data tersebut yang sebelumnya telah diuji normalitas dan homogenitas. Berdasarkan hasil analisis data tes kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa dengan uji-t di peroleh dan  dan menggunakan Software Minitab diperoleh Karena  serta  maka dapat disimpulkan bahwa model pembelajaran Course Review Horay (CRH) berpengaruh signifikan terhadap kemampuan pemahaman konsep matematis siswa kelas XI SMA Negeri 1 Akabiluru.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on the mathematics learning outcomes of seventh-grade students at MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik. This research is quantitative research with a pre-experimental research type. The population in this study is all seventh-grade students of MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik, consisting of 2 classes with a total of 34 students. Class VII.1 was obtained as the experimental class and class VII.2 as the control class. In this regard, the research was conducted on two classes, namely the experimental class and the control class. In the experimental class, the teaching and learning process was carried out by implementing Project Based Learning (PjBL), whereas in the control class, the teaching and learning process was carried out using conventional learning. The instrument used in this study was a mathematics learning outcomes test. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics and inferential statistics (t-test). The calculated t-test result was 1.867 with a table t-value of 1.693, so because the calculated t is greater than the table t, H0 is rejected. It is concluded that there is an effect of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model on students' mathematics learning outcomes in class VII of MTsS Yati Kamang Mudik.

Abstract

Learning motivation and the ability to understand mathematical concepts are important competencies in learning. However, PISA results indicate that students' mathematical conceptual understanding remains low. This finding is further supported by preliminary research and several previous studies in Indonesia, including the researcher's initial study at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. Based on observations and interviews with teachers and students, it is suspected that the low learning motivation and mathematical conceptual understanding of students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi are caused by the teacher-centered learning process, which leads to students being less active and tending to memorize procedures without understanding the concepts, thus experiencing difficulties in understanding mathematical concepts. The researcher attempted to implement a problem-solving learning model to address these issues. The purpose of this study was to determine whether there is a significant effect of the problem-solving learning model on the motivation and mathematical conceptual understanding of eighth-grade students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. This study was a pre-experimental study using the Static Group Comparison Design (GDC). The population was three eighth-grade students at SMPN 8 Bukittinggi. The sample consisted of students in grades VIII.3 and VIII.2, respectively. Sampling was conducted using the Simple Random Sampling technique after conducting tests for normality, homogeneity of variance, and equality of means on the data population. The instruments in this study were a motivation questionnaire and a test for understanding mathematical concepts. The data analysis technique used the t-test. After passing the prerequisite tests for normality and homogeneity. Based on the results of the data analysis of motivation and students' mathematical concept understanding abilities at the α = 0.05 level using the t-test, for learning motivation, the calculated t>ttable was 6.13>1.67. Then, reviewed again using Minitab Software, the P-value was obtained = 0.000 <α = 0.05, so H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. Meanwhile, for conceptual understanding abilities, the calculated t>ttable was 5.006>1.67, which was also seen using Minitab Software, the P-value was obtained = 0.000 <α = 0.05, H0 was rejected and H1 was accepted. So, it can be concluded that there is a significant influence of the problem solver learning model on learning motivation and the ability to understand mathematical concepts of class VIII students of SMPN 8 Bukittinggi in the 2025/2026 academic year.
