Abstract

Terjadinya Covid-19 menyebabkan berbagai Sektor Mikro Kecil Menengah (UMKM) menimbulkan berbagai masalah. Salah satunya pada perekonomian masyarakat saat ini. Permasalahan yang terjadi di Desa Adat Kuta di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini, yaitu kurangnya informasi mengenai pemanfaatan digital marketing untuk meningkatkan kegiatan pemasaran produk di masa pandemi ini dan kurangnya inovasi dalam pembuatan pengemasan suatu produk yang menjadi lebih berguna dan menarik konsumen. Program pengabdian masyarakat yang akan dilaksanakan, yaitu memberikan pengarahan tata cara tentang pemanfaatan digital marketing melalui aplikasi Shopee sebagai media pemasaran produk tersebut, sehingga dapat meningkatkan kegiatan pemasaran produk para pelaku UMKM dan memberikan ide dalam pembuatan kemasan yang lebih berguna dan dapat menarik konsumen. Adapun tujuan pengabdian masyarakat ini, yaitu dapat memahami pemanfaatan digital marketing dan mengembangkan inovasi pengemasan produk agar dapat meningkatkan kegiatan pemasaran dan meningkatkan perekonomian di masa pandemi Covid-19 ini. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode kontekstual yaitu memberikan pemahaman mengenai program kerja yang dilaksanakan dan praktik. Hasil dari kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat di Desa Adat Kuta ini agar dapat memahami tentang pemanfaatan digital dan cara mengembangkan inovasi pengemasan produk secara mandiri.

Abstract

Coursebook plays an essential role in English language teaching. It is a guide to the prescribed curriculum and syllabus. However, the coursebook does not always match the needs of students and lecturers. This study aims to develop a speaking coursebook using the ADDIE (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, and Evaluation) model based on OBE Curriculum. Researchers used Research and Development (R&D) in which the data were collected through questionnaire and interview. There were 26 students and two lecturers in the English Language Education Study Program. From the finding, the design and development of the coursebook are highly influenced by the result of the needs analysis. From the impact of the need analysis, the researchers developed the coursebook for Speaking for Informal Interaction that provides achievable teaching ideas for lecturers, including speaking activities, vocabulary, grammar, dialogue examples, exercise (individual, pair, or group work), and lesson learned related to the topics discussed. The result of validation from experts (design, content, and language), students, and lecturers agreed that the coursebook had met the criteria of a good coursebook. The results of this study can later be effectively used to support the achievement of student communicative competence, especially in the Speaking for Informal Interaction course.

Abstract

Reading comprehension is the process of acquiring knowledge and comprehending the meaning of printed items. It is a necessary language ability that must be mastered. Initial research revealed that the majority of the eighth-grade students of SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar struggled with reading comprehension, particularly identifying general and specific information, textual meaning, and textual reference. Moreover, the purpose of the study was to determine whether the reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar could be enhanced using KWL (Know Want Learn). To achieve the objective, the researcher performed classroom action research in two cycles. Research instruments, including tests and a questionnaire, were used to obtain the necessary data. Afterwards, the data were examined by comparing pre- and post-test findings. On the basis of the findings, it was evident that the subjects’ mean scores improved significantly between the pre- and post-tests. As supporting data, the questionnaire was also completed at the end of the last cycle; the results indicated good responses to the implementation of KWL. Therefore, it could be concluded that implementing KWL could increase reading comprehension of the eighth-grade students of SMP (SLUB) Saraswati 1 Denpasar.

Abstract

Students with proficient writing skills can articulate their thoughts, beliefs, knowledge, emotions, and experiences. Students should be familiar with paragraph arrangement and general structure. However, they continued to struggle with writing paragraphs, particularly descriptive paragraphs. In addition, they were unable to organize it in terms of general structures, coherence, and unity. The primary purpose of this study was to examine whether the writing skills of the eighth-grade students of SMP Cipta Dharma Denpasar might be enhanced through small group discussion combined with picture. This research employed a two-cycle classroom action research design. The relevant data were obtained using instruments, including paragraph construction tests and a structured questionnaire. Following a cyclical research procedure, it was determined that small group discussion combined with picture was suitable for enhancing the writing skills of the subjects. It was evident from the findings of the pre-test, post-test 1, and post-test 2 that their writing skills had improved significantly. In addition, it was supported by the structured questionnaire, which revealed positive responses to the technique. It may be inferred that the writing skills of the eighth-grade students of SMP Cipta Dharma Denpasar could be improved by small group discussion combined with picture

Abstract

ABSTRACT Speaking competency is one of the necessary language competencies to be mastered by the students. In fact, the teaching learning process on Speaking Course became one of the frightening courses, and it sometimes decreased the students’ self-confidence because the implementation of inappropriate teaching technique. In the present study, Balinese Folklores-based Reflective Storytelling as the teaching model was implemented to deal with the problem. The present classroom action research was intended to figure out how speaking competency can be improved through Balinese Folklores-based Reflective Storytelling and how the students respond the implementation of Balinese Folklores-based Reflective Storytelling. The third semester students of English Education Study Program, Faculty of Teacher Training and Education, Mahasaraswati Denpasar University consisting of 71 students were chosen as the subjects of the study. The findings clearly showed that the speaking competency of the subjects can be improved through the implementation of Balinese Folklores-based Reflective Storytelling. In addition, the subjects also responded positively the implementation of Balinese Folklores-based Reflective Storytelling in teaching speaking. Abstract

Pendidikan adalah hak dasar bagi setiap warga negara Indonesia untuk dapat menikmatinya. Kenyataannya masih terdapat anak-anak yang belum mengenyam dunia pendidikan. Hal ini disebabkan berbagai faktor baik dari segi ekonomi, zonasi dan sebagainya. Seperti yang terjadi pada TPA Suwung, masih banyak anak-anak yang belum berpendidikan dan memiliki pengetahuan serta ketrampilan tentang pemanfaatan limbah sampah menjadi barang bernilai ekonomis. Metode yang digunakan adalah metode penyuluhan, pelatihan dan evaluasi. Program pengabdian yang akan dilaksanakan, yaitu penyuluhan dan pelatihan tentang pentingnya mengembangkan kreatifitas dan pemanfaatan limbah sampah menjadi barang bernilai ekonomis kepada anak-anak TPA Suwung dan penyuluhan dan pembuatan akun media sisoal sebagai media promosi. Adapun tujuan kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat, yaitu untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mengenai pentingnya mengembangkan kreatifitas sejak dini dan pemnafaatan sumber daya yang ada disekitar.

Abstract

The undertaking of the exploration was substantially grounded on the primary study. The result of pre-test showed that utmost of the scholars in VIII-4 class of SMPN 6 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 faced problem in writing skill. The students had problems in constructing unified and coherent writing descriptive paragraph. The subjects consisted of 41 students: 20 males and 21 females. The object was to know whether or not the writing skill of the eighth-grade students of SMPN 6 Denpasar in academic year 2022/2023 can be improved trough Roundtable combined with picture. The design was a classroom behavioral study. This was done in two cycles, each cycle consisting of two sessions. Data showed that there were significant improvement on subject's average score from pre- and post-tests. The average pretest score was 45.39, post-test I was 74.39, and posttest II was 83.73. As supporting data, the questionnaire was also administered at the end of the last cycle and the results were displayed more than 93% of the subjects positively agreed on implementing Roundtable combined with picture in improving writing skill. Based on the data, the implementation of Roundtable combined with picture can make the subject more creative and be brave in expressing their idea into a good paragraph. Based on the findings, it could be concluded that the writing ability of the eighth-grade students at SMPN 6 Denpasar in the 2022/2023 school can be improved trough a Roundtable combined with picture.

Abstract

This research analyses Thai students' perceptions and challenges in learning BIPA. Research respondents for this study were 14 international students from Thailand who enrolled in Bahasa Indonesia bagi Penutur Asing (BIPA) at Universitas Mahasaraswati Denpasar. Observations, open-ended questionnaires, semi-structured interviews and classroom recordings were used to obtain data and analyzed using the descriptive qualitative method. The findings indicated that BIPA students encountered several challenges in language skills, language components and cultural and linguistic backgrounds. Therefore, simple instructions and examples are needed to help them learn the Indonesian language. Moreover, having more practice with Indonesian students also helps them understand the Indonesian language.

Abstract

Tahapan awal dalam pengenalan suara adalah tahap ekstraksi fitur, dimana penerapan metode sangatlah dapat berdampak signifikan terhadap kualitas pengenalan suara, sehingga perlu dilakukan pemilihan metode yang tepat. Metode ekstraksi fitur untuk pengenalan suara diantaranya Mel-Frequency Cepstral Coefficients (MFCC) dan representasi spektral. MFCC telah menjadi standar dalam berbagai aplikasi pengenalan suara karena kemampuannya dalam menangkap karakteristik penting dari suara manusia. Sementara itu, representasi spektral memiliki pendekatan yang lebih sederhana dengan hanya menganalisis amplitudo spektrum suara tanpa mempertimbangkan informasi cepstral. Penelitian ini menggunakan ekstraksi fitur yang dilakukan dengan mengimplementasikan kedua metode, yaitu MFCC dan representasi spektral, pada setiap sampel suara dalam dataset. Selanjutnya, dilakukan pemrosesan data menggunakan algoritma pengenalan pola seperti K-Nearest Neighbors (K-NN) untuk mengklasifikasikan suara pada kedua kelompok fitur. Hasil penelitian ini diperoleh hasil bahwa MFCC memiliki keunggulan dalam proses identifikasi suara berbasis gender dengan akurasi tertinggi 84,18 untuk data training dan 74,71 untuk data testing dimana kedua hasil ini berasal dari kelompok data yang sama yaitu pembagian 50% data uji dan 50% data training. Hasil eksperimen menunjukkan bahwa penggunaan MFCC cenderung menghasilkan hasil pengenalan suara yang lebih baik dibandingkan dengan representasi spektral. Hal ini disebabkan oleh kemampuan MFCC dalam menangkap informasi frekuensi dan temporal dari suara manusia. Abstract

Marriage is something that every couple looks forward to. All preparations for the wedding are needed so that the bride and groom have a dream of a magnificent, memorable and unforgettable wedding. Wedding photo packages usually consist of the concept, service, facilities, price, duration of time. Currently, the other obstacle is the cost of the bride and groom. The problem that is often faced is that the bride and groom have minimal costs but want attractive results. Problems like this often make it difficult for brides-to-be when there is a lack of information that can be used as a reference in making decisions about wedding packages. The research that has been done is then proposed an analysis in the selection of wedding photo packages using the TOPSIS (Technique For Order Preference by Similarity to Ideal Solution) method. The TOPSIS process is a multi-criteria decision-making method whose final result is a recommendation or decision for the decision maker
