Abstract

To advance sustainable development, competencies cannot be taught, but students must develop through experience and reflection to acquire action. One of the important competencies to be applied in education is strategic competence. The purpose of this research to determine the strategic competencies of male and female students at nature school. The method used was descriptive quantitative, the research subjects were Fathia Islamic Junior High School students with a total of 42 students. The questionnaire was used to measure strategic competence as many as 15 questions with positive and negative statements consisting of 5 sub-indicators to achieve strategic competence. The results of the study obtained an average of the calculation of the profile strategic competency of the percentage of ESD obtained from male and female students of 82.84% and 85.10% both in the Excellent category. The highest sub-indicator in male students was able to solve problems by 84.13% while female students the highest sub-indicator was able to provide sustainable innovation by 88.54%. This study shows that strategic competence in male and female students is in the excellent category.

Abstract

ABSTRAK Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk penelitian profil kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa MTs kabupaten sukabumi. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan pada bulan November ke-2 tahun 2019. Penelitian ini menggunakan metode deskriptif, dengan menggunakan kualitatif. Subjek penelitian adalah siswa kelas VIII Mts Al-Muhajirin tentang penelitian ini Instrumen yang digunakan mengenai soal-soal kritisitas uraian soal lima butir soal dengan indikator 1) memfokuskan pertanyaan; 2) menyetujui asumsi; 3) mengobservasi dan mempertimbangkan suatu pengamatan; 4) memutuskan suatu tindakan; juga 5) membuat dan mempertimbangkan nilai keputusan.Hasil tes kemampuan berfikir kritis siswa dikategorikan rendah dengan persentase nilai kemampuan berpikir kritis siswa rata-rata sebesar 44%. Pada umumnya proses pembelajaran masih terpusat pada guru sehingga siswa menjadi tidak nyaman dan nyaman karena siswa hanya menghafal dalam belajar yang disebabkan karena guru tidak memfasilitasi siswa dalam belajar dengan cara membuat siswa yang senang belajar menjadi kurang. Namun, hasil tersebut dapat ditingkatkan. Salah satu model pembelajaran yang disarankan adalah model pembelajaran vee heuristik.

Abstract

Education faces a major challenge in preparing a generation capable of responding to uncertainties caused by climate change and the sustainability crisis. The Education for Sustainable Development framework emphasizes strategic thinking competence as the ability to design adaptive actions based on systemic analysis and future projections. However, learning practices in schools still tend to present climate change in an informative manner without training students’ anticipatory capacity. This community service program employed a Participatory Action Research (PAR) approach to strengthen junior high school teachers’ strategic thinking competence through ESD-based scenario training. Seventeen teachers in West Java participated in an online training program consisting of planning, action, observation, and reflection cycles. The activities included strengthening ESD concepts, scenario development techniques, and contextual climate change module design. Evaluation was conducted through pretest–posttest comparison and rubric-based module assessment. The results showed an increase in the average score from 67 to 84. The teaching modules produced demonstrated teachers’ ability to identify driving forces, formulate key uncertainties, and design multiple logical and contextual future scenarios. The program effectively enhanced teachers’ pedagogical capacity and contributed to the transformation of future-oriented learning practices.

Abstract

The objective of this study is to examine the correlation between learning styles and student learning outcomes in the Limnology course within the Biology Education Study Program at FKIP UNTAD, during the odd academic year of 2021/2022. The present study employs a quantitative descriptive research methodology. The data was obtained by administering a learning style questionnaire consisting of 23 items to a sample of 30 students enrolled in the Biology Education Study Program at FKIP UNTAD. The data analysis was conducted using the Product Moment correlation test. The findings of the research indicate that during the odd semester of the 2021/2022 academic year, all students enrolled in the Limnology elective course exhibited a preference for visual learning. Nevertheless, a diminished correlation was observed in relation to the association between learning styles and student learning outcomes. The results of this study make two distinct contributions to the current body of literature. The present study describes a taxonomy of participant learning styles, making anticipatory projections based on analogous investigations. Furthermore, this study investigates the influence of different learning styles on the achievement of learning objectives. Moreover, this study incorporates demographic data to control for its impact on educational achievements. The examination and interpretation of the findings from both analyzes will enhance scholarly comprehension of the essential determinants of success in the learning process and their tangible implementation in the field of Limnology education.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model and Field Visit Techniques in Biotechnology learning for class IXC students of SMP Negeri 7 Sukabumi City in the 2022/2023, in terms of: (1) student learning motivation, (2) student learning outcomes in biotechnology learning by using Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning models and Field Visit Techniques. The research population was 25 class IXC students. The instruments used were student activity observation sheets and learning achievement tests. The data analysis technique uses a comparative descriptive analysis of test results between cycles with predetermined work indicators. The research results show that the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model in science learning for class IXC students at SMP Negeri 7 Kota Sukabumi in the 2022/2023 academic year is effectively applied in learning. This research has obtained information regarding the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) learning model in biotechnology learning for students in IXC class, SMP Negeri 7 Sukabumi, in the 2022/2023 academic year.

Abstract

The aim of the research is to foster students' interest in learning in Class IX A of SMP Negeri 7 Sukabumi City through optimizing learning in the laboratory. This experimental research was carried out in class IX A of SMP Negeri 7 Sukabumi City in 2024/2025, consisting of 28 students, 15 male students and 13 female students. This research was carried out for 13 days from August 8-20, 2024. The research results proved that "Optimization of Practical Learning in the Laboratory can be achieved. "Growing Students' Interest in Learning", especially science subjects in class IX A of SMPN 7 Sukabumi City.Before the action, students' interest in learning was still categorized as low, from the results of the initial survey, students' interest in learning only reached 46.4%, with the criteria of 5 indicators of interest in learning, namely feelings of joy, interest, attention, participation, desire/awareness of science learning. After the action, interest in learning science in class IX A reached 64.8%.
