Abstract

Research aims to develop teaching media in communicating alternative energy to students who are in high school. The teaching media developed as a prototype converter of ocean wave energy into electrical energy. This Converter is focused on helping students understand concepts and technologies in utilizing ocean wave energy as an alternative energy source. The development stage adopted the ADDIE model, which is limited to the analysis, design, and development stages. The data obtained are in the form of design validation data, trial data, and product assessment data. The data were analyzed using descriptive statistics. Based on the results of data analysis, it is found that (1) the converter design is feasible to be developed with a few additions to the transmission section to produce higher RPM; (2) the resulting converter functions correctly with the output voltage of 5 to 9 volts in the artificial wave pool test and reaches 8 to 12 volts; (3) for product assessment, it was found that the Converter produced was suitable to be used as a teaching medium to communicate concepts and technology in utilizing ocean wave energy as an alternative energy source. So, teaching media in the form of a wave energy converter could be used as an alternative to communicating the concept of using ocean waves as an alternative energy source. The implication of this research is that it can be used as a model or initial example in developing learning media related to alternative energy and can even be used as a model in developing converters on a larger scale so that the wider community can use them.

Abstract

This community service activity aims to enhance teachers' competence in developing assessment instruments for both the learning process and outcomes based on a deep learning approach. Deep learning emphasizes meaningful, reflective, and contextual learning, which requires more authentic forms of assessment, such as rubrics, reflection journals, observation sheets, and projects. The training was conducted over three days and involved 25 teachers from the K3S of Tarik Subdistrict, Sidoarjo Regency. The implementation method consisted of four stages: needs identification, material preparation, training and mentoring, and evaluation. Pretest and posttest results showed an increase in the average score from 62 to 85. Additionally, 90% of participants expressed satisfaction with the content and methods of the training

Abstract

This research is based on students' low reflective thinking skills in science learning, as well as the lack of use of interactive digital media. This research aims to determine the influence of the use of the problem based learning (PBL) model assisted by flipbook digital learning media on reflective thinking abilities. This research used the pre-test post-test method in experimental class 1 and experimental 2. The subjects of this research were class IV students consisting of two groups, namely experimental class 1 and 2. This data collection technique was from tests and questionnaires given to students. The results of the research showed that there was a significant increase in students' reflective thinking abilities who were taught using the problem based learning model assisted by digital flipbook learning media in style material. This is proven by higher pre-test and post-test scores. Based on these results, it can be concluded that the application of the problem based learning model assisted by flipbook digital learning media can improve the reflective thinking abilities of class IV students. Based on the data obtained, the average N-gain in experimental classes 1 and 2 experienced a significant increase of 0.70. It can be concluded that there is an influence on the use of the problem based learning (PBL) model assisted by digital flipbook learning media in science subjects style material assisted by digital flipbook learning media on the thinking abilities of fourth grade elementary school students.
