Abstract

Reflective thinking is an essential component in fostering critical awareness and problem-solving skills that are particularly needed in Social Science subjects. However, observations indicate that fourth-grade students still exhibit low levels of reflective thinking due to ineffective teaching methods and the lack of alignment between instructional delivery and students’ abilities. This study aims to analyze the reflective thinking abilities of elementary school students through the implementation of a Differentiated Problem-Based Learning (PBL) model in Social Science learning. This study employs a mixed-method approach, with data collected through tests and questionnaires to measure students’ reflective thinking skills before and after the implementation of the differentiated PBL model. The findings show a significant improvement in students' reflective thinking skills, where the model encouraged active participation, collaborative learning, and deep reflection in problem-solving processes. This study emphasizes the importance of integrating innovative learning models such as differentiated PBL to enhance students' reflective thinking abilities and to promote meaningful Social Science learning at the elementary school level.

Abstract

The high number of losses and casualties experienced by the Indonesian people is caused by various factors. One of the factors lies in the people who lack knowledge in dealing with climate phenomena. Student-teacher candidates must take an important role in solving climate problems. One solution is to predict climate phenomena. This study uses the ARIMA model to predict the El Niño La Niña & Indian Ocean Dipole phenomenon. The research method is the ARIMA model prediction steps using student worksheets. (1) know the model by determining ACF and PACF. (2) parameter model estimation determines ARIMA on predetermined ACF and PACF. The ARIMA parameter model is the slightest Mean Squared Error (MSE) level. (3) the diagnostic model of the smallest MSE. (4) a measure of predictive accuracy. And (5) Argumentation. Results In the IOD calculation, the correlation between the three-month prediction period is 0.92 and for six months is 0.96. This is the same as in the Nińo 3.4 correlation data. The value is close to 1, which is very accurate and can be used. The predicted value of the IOD index was expected. The resulting values ranged from 0.01 to 0.17. This means that students are proficient in making climate predictions. Because students are enthusiastic and passionate about studying climate, it is a new science

Abstract

Natural science and ethnoscience can help combine local knowledge with modern scientific knowledge to overcome problems in learning. The aim of this research is to determine the feasibility of a worksheet based on the "Jidor art" ethnoscience project for PGSD students, as well as to determine student responses in learning the Physics of sound concept course through a project assignment integrating the Jidor art ethnoscience approach. The subject used is the tanjidor musical instrument. The research method used is the development of the Borg and Gall R & D Model. From data collection to large group operational validation (Step 8). The feasibility results obtained an average score of 4.1 in the good category. Student responses stated that 69.75% agreed that it was acceptable. Thus, it can be concluded that the worksheet based on the ethnoscience project "Jidor Art" for PGSD students is declared suitable for use. Student responses stated that they agreed that it could provide insight, challenge, make things easier and fun, as well as foster the 4C.

Abstract

This study aims to develop and evaluate an Augmented Reality (AR)-based diorama learning media to enhance elementary students’ reflective thinking and self-regulation in IPAS learning. This study employed a Research and Development (R&D) approach adapted from Borg and Gall, followed by a one-group pretest-posttest design to examine effectiveness. The participants were third-grade elementary students. Data were collected through expert validation sheets, practicality questionnaires, and reflective thinking and self-regulation test. Data analysis was conducted using descriptive statistics and normalized gain (N-gain). The results indicate that the developed media achieved very high validity (M = 3.76) and practicality (M = 3.81). The effectiveness test shows significant improvement in reflective thinking (N-gain = 0.68) and self-regulation (N-gain = 0.71), both in ranged from moderate to high categories. These study contributes by positioning that the integration of concrete diorama media with AR technology effectively promotes interactive, students-centered learning and supports the development of higher-order thinking skill and learner autonomy. This research contributes an empirically validated instructional media model elementary IPAS context that integrates physical and digital learning environments to enhance both cognitive and self-regulated learning outcomes in elementary IPAS

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Project Based Learning (PjBL) model with a Deep Learning approach on the reflective thinking ability of fifth-grade students on the topic of food chains. This research employed a quantitative approach using an experimental method with a pretest–posttest experimental design. The subjects of the study were fifth-grade students of SDN Kepuh Kiriman I Waru, consisting of two experimental classes, namely class V-B and class V-A, with 28 students in each class. The research instruments included reflective thinking essay tests in the form of pretest and posttest, observation sheets, student response questionnaires, and a reflective thinking attitude scale. Data were analyzed using descriptive analysis and the N-Gain test to determine the improvement in students’ reflective thinking abilities. The results showed that students' reflective thinking abilities improved, with an N-Gain score of 0.71 in experimental class 1 and 0.72 in experimental class 2, which are categorized as high. The average posttest scores also indicated good results, namely 84.44 in experimental class 1 and 85.93 in experimental class 2. In addition, questionnaire results showed that students responded positively to the learning process, and the reflective thinking attitude scale indicated a dominance of the “strongly agree” category across several indicators. Therefore, the Project Based Learning model with a Deep Learning approach is effective in improving students’ reflective thinking abilities on the topic of food chains.

Abstract

Augmented reality technology has been widely developed and implemented in an Android-based smartphone application. This technology can be used for entertainment and education. Unfortunately, the use of education is still rare. This paper proposes an android application to introduce the types of land transportation based on augmented reality technology which is visualized in 3-dimensional (3D) form for education as well as entertainment. There are seven land transportation modes that are presented range from two wheels to four wheels, i.e. cars, ambulances, buses, motorbikes, taxis, trucks, and bicycles. Alpha testing has been carried out and shows the results that the application runs well following the expected function. This application can be delivered to the public, especially for the online learning of children in a pandemic situation. In addition, it helps parents to introduce several land transportation modes. With a 3D view, the introduction of types of land transportation is more interactive and realistic. Keywords: android, application, augmented reality, transportation
