Abstract

The low level of waste literacy among elementary school students, along with the limited availability of engaging, contextually relevant learning media, has become a major challenge in fostering early environmental awareness. This Study aimed to develop and evaluate the effectiveness of Uwuhpoly, an educational board game designed to improve waste literacy among elementary school students in Surabaya. The method R&D approach using the ADDIE model, which consists of the stages of analysis, design, development, Implementation, and evaluation. The research subjects were 142 students from Grades II to VI at an elementary school in Surabaya, selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using waste literacy questionnaires (pretest–posttest), observation sheets, and teacher responses. Data analysis used descriptive statistical techniques and N-gain to assess improvements in students' waste literacy. The results of expert validation showed that Uwuhpoly received an average score of 4.51, indicating that the game is feasible for classroom implementation. The implementation results demonstrated a significant improvement in students’ waste literacy, with pretest–posttest score increases ranging from 35.7% to 46.7%, and an overall literacy improvement of approximately 85%. Therefore, Uwuhpoly has strong potential to be integrated into science learning (IPA), civic education (PPKn), and the Pancasila Student Profile reinforcement program as an alternative environmental literacy–based learning medium in elementary schools.

Abstract

Perilaku merokok pada remaja masih menjadi permasalahan kesehatan masyarakat yang berdampak terhadap meningkatnya risiko penyakit tidak menular di masa dewasa. Salah satu faktor yang diduga memengaruhi perilaku merokok remaja adalah paparan iklan rokok melalui televisi, media sosial, internet, sponsor kegiatan, maupun media luar ruang. Iklan rokok umumnya menampilkan citra maskulinitas, kebebasan, petualangan, dan keberhasilan yang dapat memengaruhi persepsi serta mendorong remaja untuk mencoba merokok. Menganalisis pengaruh paparan iklan rokok terhadap perilaku merokok pada remaja. Penelitian menggunakan desain analitik observasional dengan pendekatan cross-sectional. Sampel penelitian sebanyak 180 remaja berusia 15–19 tahun dipilih menggunakan teknik stratified random sampling. Data dikumpulkan menggunakan kuesioner mengenai paparan iklan rokok dan perilaku merokok. Analisis data dilakukan secara univariat dan bivariat menggunakan uji Chi-square dengan tingkat kemaknaan 95% (α = 0,05). Sebanyak 61,1% responden memiliki tingkat paparan iklan rokok yang tinggi, sedangkan 38,9% memiliki paparan rendah. Remaja yang memiliki perilaku merokok sebanyak 42,8%. Hasil uji Chi-square menunjukkan terdapat hubungan yang signifikan antara paparan iklan rokok dengan perilaku merokok pada remaja (p = 0,001). Paparan iklan rokok berpengaruh terhadap perilaku merokok pada remaja. Semakin tinggi paparan iklan rokok, semakin besar kecenderungan remaja untuk mencoba dan mempertahankan kebiasaan merokok. Penguatan regulasi iklan rokok dan edukasi kesehatan perlu dilakukan untuk mencegah perilaku merokok pada remaja.

Abstract

One of the factors that have become an obstacle in the development of techno-logy to use ocean wave energy as a renewable energy source is the lack of human resources who have expertise in this field. Therefore, in the long term, it is necessary to introduce basic knowledge to the young generation about wave energy and other renew-able energies and even must equip them with important skills such as creative thinking skills. This study aims to introduce students to how to utilize ocean waves as renewable energy while at the same time developing student creative thinking skills through semi-assisted project-based learning. This type of research is weak experiment research with one group pretest-posttest design research. The research was conducted on 31 pre-service physics physics teachers who were taking environmental physics lectures at a teacher training university in West Nusa Tenggara. The performance appraisal data were analyzed descriptively while the test result data were analyzed using the N-gain and the Wilcoxon test. Based on the results of data analysis, it was obtained <g> = 0.725, which means that there was a high increase in students' mastery of the concept of using ocean waves as a renewable energy source. In addition, the results of the performance appraisal data (score > 3) indicated that at each stage of learning, students were provided with indicators of creative thinking skills with very satisfied categories. Therefore, it can be concluded that environmental physics lectures using semi-assisted project-based learning able to improve students' mastery of concepts and creative thinking skills.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan mengetahui implementasi GSL melalui Inovasi Media Pohon Literasi untuk Meningkatkan Minat Baca Siswa dan mengetahui Efektifitas Penggunaan Media Pohon Literasi untuk Meningkatkan Minat Baca Siswa. Penelitian ini menggunakan Pendekatan Mixed Method yaitu gabungan antara metode kuantitatif dengan kualitatif untuk digunakan bersama dalam penelitian. Hasil penelitian yaitu berdasarkan wawancara dengan kepala sekolah dan guru, sudah melaksanakan GLS dengan tahapan pembiasaan, pengembangan dan pembelajaran. Tahapan tersebut adalah kecakapan literasi untuk kelas rendah yaitu literasi baca tulis. Sedangkan untuk kelas tinggi yaitu menceritakan kembali isi bacaan. Selanjutnya Analisis korelasi diperoleh nilai koefisien korelasi antara variabel media pohon literasi (X) dengan variabel minat baca siswa (Y) yaitu 1 ini artinya jika dibandingkan nilai sig.(2-tailed) dengan probabilitas 0,05 (5%) dengan ketentuan bahwa sig.(2-tailed) > 0,05 maka tidak terdapat hubungan atau tidak ada korelasi antara dua variabel tersebut. hal tersebut dibuktikan dengan tabel analisis korelasi yaitu r = - 0,205 yang berarti level interpelasi koefisien korelasi pengaruh media pohon literasi terhadap peningkatan minat baca siswa adalah tidak kuat.

Abstract

Antenatal Care (ANC) is a health service provided to pregnant women on a regular and planned basis to monitor the health of the mother and fetus. However, some pregnant women still do not utilize ANC services optimally due to a lack of knowledge and understanding. This community service activity aims to improve pregnant women's knowledge of the importance of ANC through health education. Implementation methods include counseling, interactive discussions, and knowledge evaluation. The results of the activity indicate an increase in pregnant women's knowledge regarding the definition, purpose, benefits, and schedule of ANC visits. This activity is expected to increase pregnant women's compliance with regular ANC visits, thereby supporting efforts to prevent pregnancy complications.

Abstract

This study aims to determine the effectiveness of the Contextual Teaching and Learning (CTL) model in improving the mathematical problem-solving skills of fourth-grade students at SDN Mekar Jaya 31 in Depok regarding fractions. The study employed a quantitative approach with a one-group pretest-posttest design. The study sample consisted of 32 fourth-grade students. Data collection techniques included tests, observations, and documentation. Tests were used to measure students' mathematical problem-solving skills before and after the implementation of the CTL model, while observations and documentation were used to support data on the implementation of the learning process. The results of the study indicate that the implementation of the CTL model was able to improve students' mathematical problem-solving skills in the topic of fractions. This was demonstrated by an increase in students' learning outcomes from the pretest to the posttest scores. The results of the paired-sample t-test also showed a significant difference between the scores before and after the intervention. These findings indicate that instruction using the CTL model is effective because it helps students understand the concept of fractions through real-life contexts, encourages active student engagement, and facilitates students' ability to develop problem-solving strategies. Thus, the CTL model can serve as an effective instructional alternative for improving elementary school students' mathematical problem-solving skills, particularly in the topic of fractions.
