Abstract

The research aims to examine and analyze student nurses’ written works in term of syntax and morphology category. Twenty-six students of the third semester took an English presentation course, which focused on medical cases. The results have revealed that 186 error identifications were found consisting of 132 syntactical errors and 54 morphological errors.  The students make errors in the types of article, preposition, parallel structure, the use of be, passive voice, word order, tenses, infinitive to, modal auxiliary and subject determiner in syntactical category. While in morphological error, they make errors in the plural form, subject verb agreement, comparative adjective and word form. Word order is as the most common language error in syntax category with 36 total errors or 19.35% out of 186.  The second one is preposition with 26 total errors or 13.97%. While in morphology category, subject verb agreement is the most common one with 29 total errors or 15.59%. The second common one is word form with 13 total errors or 6.98%. It can be concluded that there are 132 (70.96%) of error identification in syntactical category and 54 error identifications or 29.04% in morphological category. In addition to its error identification in syntactical and morphological features, the research has found that the causes of students’ errors are due to intralanguage and interlanguage errors as it has some slightly differences between Bahasa Indonesia and English in term of grammatical structure.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk menguraikan pentingnya kontrak perilaku dan aktivitas rutin kelas sebagai langkah inisiatif pertama untuk mengurangi perilaku buruk peserta didik dan meningkatkan interaksi mereka di antara teman sebaya. Peneliti melakukan percobaan mini "kontrak perilaku" dan "rutinitas kelas" dalam mengajar peserta didik sekolah dasar sebagai bagian dari proses pembelajaran di Intensive English Course (IEC) sebagai salah satu lembaga bahasa Inggris non formal. 16 peserta didik berusia antara 10 hingga 12 tahun berpartisipasi dalam penelitian ini. Untuk pengumpulan data, penelitian ini bergantung pada observasi partisipan, daftar periksa, wawancara dan tinjauan literatur. Peneliti bertindak sebagai instrumen kunci untuk mengamati, mencatat, dan memeriksa daftar kontrak perilaku yang disepakati dan ditandatangani antara guru dan peserta didik dengan pemberitahuan sebelumnya ke orang tua. Penelitian telah mengungkapkan bahwa peserta didik telah menunjukkan peningkatan yang lebih baik dalam hal perilaku dan sikap. Mereka juga menunjukkan interaksi yang lebih baik dan meningkatkan keterampilan berbahasa Inggris mereka karena semua peserta didik belajar bahasa Inggris. Kesimpulannya, peran guru yang menjadi kunci utama untuk pembelajaran dan pendidikan yang berkualitas dalam menyebarluaskan gagasan penghormatan, pembentukan karakter untuk orang lain memiliki efek mendalam pada perilaku dan sikap peserta didik sehingga mereka dapat saling pengertian.

Abstract

For vocational high school graduates to be accepted in business and industry, increasing the ability to use international languages, one of which is English is one of the main goals. Thus, the purpose of this community service is to train the students in understanding presentations appropriately. While the particular objectives are: 1) Improve the knowledge of strategies of writing and presentations in English well; 2) Enrich English vocabulary; 3) Improve writing and speaking skill; 4) Increase self-confidence, and 5) Prepare them to become professional graduates in terms of mastering English. There are thirty students of 12th grade of SMKN 56 North Jakarta participating in this training. The training was conducted within 12 hours, which was divided into three sessions for two days. At each meeting, students were monitored and practiced under the trainers’ guidance. The trainers also showed two examples of good presentations on YouTube. The training techniques are the lecture, discussion, brainstorming, and demonstration / direct practice that train students to understand every step by step in presentation and writing. The results show that students’ self-confidence developed, and vocabulary mastery, writing, and presentation skills increased as well. Out of 30 students, 5 participants delivered a presentation without reading the text. Although the results were not significant, the students had active participation in the discussion and practiced in groups and gave the speech in public. The evaluation result was 38.79 of a 1-4 scale with an excellent category. It is concluded that this training is highly needed and useful for vocational students.

Abstract

The term of Murabbi is identified with the task of educating their students to be professionally creative and innovative. The root word of professionalism is a profession, which is in general understood as an inborn gifted talent from God to human being. Muhammadiyah and Nahdatul Ulama (NU) as the Islamic biggest organizations in the Republic of Indonesia, understand the issue of such talent, not solely on the principles of the religion, but it can be combined with modern science that advances education competencies. Competent education can develop common sense of the students, promote and enlighten their lives. This article has aimed at recognizing, elaborating and understanding professional Murabbi in term of Muhammadiyah and NU education. The study employed historical studies as a part of qualitative research in a descriptive model to obtain the actual reality. Depth interviews with some public figures from both Muhammadiyah and NU and document analysis were conducted to collect the empiric data. The research has revealed that education run by Muhammadiyah and NU has been inclined to the creation of the appropriate individual nature, and professional capability to become change of agents based on the advanced principles of Islamic teachings, which its aim is to enlighten humanity. Additionally, the essence of Muhammadiyah and NU education is to humanize humans, based on the essence of human nature itself that always spreads compassion and has principles to the roots of imanan wahtisaban Kemurabbian (believe wholeheartedly and hope to get reward from Allah, God Almighty) without exploiting their students.

Abstract

This research was an attempt to design and enhance the Canvas Model Business of nine blocks in one canvas within teaching factory based learning innovation at the Fashion Department of 27 Public Vocational High School, Jakarta. The research method used qualitative and quantitative methods. The qualitative method, data collection was conducted within a SWOT analysis. This research was conducted in 27 Public Vocational High School, Jakarta, with the respondents were 82 students. The quantitative method with in the matrices of Internal Factor Evaluation (IFE) and External Factor Evaluation (EFE). The result of this research that implementation of the Canvas Model Business: (1) Customer Relationships in strategy 1 was valued of 0.34, was "Increasing product marketing through print and electronic media"; (2) Key Partnership in strategy 2 was valued of 0.31, for "Offering products and having cooperation with several textile producers in Jakarta and outside Jakarta "; (3) Value Propositions in strategy 3 was valued of 0.31, namely "Assuring and improving product quality and adding variant to fashion"; (4) Customer Segment in the strategy 4 was valued of 0.29, entitled "The Development of Out-of-School Fashion Sales"; and (5) Channel on strategy 5 which was valued of 0.27, "Utilizing occasional fashion events to meet market demand".

Abstract

Pengabdian masyarakat ini dimaksudkan untuk melatih para siswa sekolah menengah kejuruan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kewirausahaan mereka dan memahami bagaimana pemasaran digital dan bisnis online bekerja di era teknologi ini. Selain itu, para siswa belajar bagaimana memasarkan produk melalui online dengan menggunakan aplikasi belanja seperti Shopee. 38 siswa jurusan akuntansi, administrasi kantor dan teknik jaringan komputer dan tiga guru mengajar kewirausahaan berpartisipasi dalam pelatihan ini. Pelatihan 12 jam dilakukan di sekolah menengah kejuruan Al Falah yang berlokasi di Jakarta Selatan, yang dibagi menjadi empat sesi selama dua hari. Pelatihan ini meningkatkan pemahaman mereka tentang pengetahuan pemasaran digital dan bisnis online. Para siswa dapat mengoperasikan komputer dan telepon seluler cara menjual produk melalui Shopee. Mereka juga menjadi lebih sadar akan terminologi spesifik yang terkait dengan topik pemasaran digital dan bisnis online, seperti afiliasi, copywriting, dan lainnya. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan ini sangat penting untuk meningkatkan keterampilan kewirausahaan siswa dan pengetahuan mereka tentang pemasaran digital dan bisnis online.

Abstract

The variety of learning by applying teaching techniques in a fun, effective and efficient manner provides an important role in the learning process of children. Therefore, this community service activity aims to train the participants' abilities in teaching techniques that are specialized in games, songs and storytelling in English. This activity was carried out by using Google Meeting for two days. In addition, the uses of learning media and class routine activities are the goal of this community service. 18 participants participated in this activity, most of whom were kindergarten teachers. The implementation was carried out using the methods of lecturing, brainstorming and discussion, demonstration and mentoring. The results show that the participants' knowledge and understanding of the given themes increased. Participants are also able to answer several questions at the end of the session and be involved in online game activities. The results of the evaluation show that this activity is very useful and beneficial in increasing their ability to implement  more varied teaching techniques that are in accordance with the abilities of kindergarten children.

Abstract

Kegiatan ini hendak mengupayakan permasalahan yang ada pada mitra, dalam rangka mengembangkan usaha budidaya talas beneng yang memiliki daya saing menuju pengembangan Industri Kreatif. Talas Beneng memiliki potensi yang besar untuk dikembangkan sebagai sumber pangan lokal, karena produk ukurannya yang besar dengan kadar protein tinggi serta warna kuning yang menarik menjadi ciri khas Talas Beneng. Mitra dalam program ini adalah Kelompok Tani Bina Mandiri, Kelurahan Juhut, Kab. Pandeglang, Banten berbasis UMKM (Usaha Mikro, Kecil dan Menengah). Permasalahan yang dialami kelompok mitra adalah: (1) adanya perubahan trend produk talas beneng; (2) kelompok sasaran belum memiliki pengetahuan dan keterampilan dalam mengelola budidaya talas; (3) rendahnya kemampuan kelompok sasaran dalam pemanfaatan teknologi informasi (internet) sebagai sarana memasarkan produk talas beneng; (4) rendahnya kemampuan SDM terkait manajemen bisnis. Solusi dalam program ini adalah: (1) pelatihan budidaya (pengelolaan) terhadap kadar asam oksalat talas beneng; (2) peningkatan kemampuan SDM dalam mengelola budidaya talas beneng; (3) pelatihan penggunaan teknologi informasi (internet) sebagai sarana pemasaran talas beneng; (4) pelatihan peningkatan kemampuan SDM terkait bidang manajemen dan keuangan. Target program adalah meningkatkan kemampuan kelompok sasaran dalam bidang pengetahun teknik tanam; bidang manajemen, pemasaran dan keuangan; serta omzet penjualan. Adanya dukungan dari pemerintah daerah Provinsi Banten, serta kemitraan (industri dan akademis) bersama perusahaan daerah dalam pengembangan pangan lokal, bisa memacu keragaman produk talas beneng termasuk upaya memasyarakatkannya, sehingga keberlanjutan unit usaha talas beneng akan terus berjalan sebagai kegiatan yang dapat meningkatkan perekonomian masyarakat serta dapat menyerap tenaga kerja lokal sebesar 30%.

Abstract

Tujuan utama dari pelatihan academic writing ini adalah untuk meningkatkan profesionalisme guru dalam ketrampilan menulis, dimana kompetensi profesional merupakan salah satu kompetensi yang wajib dimiliki guru selain kompetensi pedagogik, sosial dan kepribadian. Selain itu, di abad 21 ini guru menjadi bagian dari masyarakat pengetahuan akibat perubahan masyarakat industri. Dengan demikian, mereka juga dituntut menjadi guru professional yang ditantang untuk melakukan akselerasi terhadap perkembangan informasi, teknologi dan komunikasi dan menjadi pembelajar sepanjang karir mereka melalui salah satunya adalah keikutsertaan dalam pelatihan, workshop, seminar maupun konferensi baik yang bertaraf nasional maupun internasional. Pelatihan academic writing ini lebih memfokuskan pada penulisan artikel untuk makalah konferensi, publikasi di jurnal dan di Koran atau media massa. Tiga puluh lima (35) guru dari Madrasah Tsanawiyah (Mts) dan Madrasah Aliyah (MA) Pondok Pesantren Darul Muttaqien yang terletak di Parung Bogor berpartisipasi dalam kegiatan ini. Pelatihan ini dilaksanakan selama 15 jam yang dibagi menjadi 3 sesi pertemuan. Ada empat (4) metode pelaksanaan yang dilakukan dalam pelatihan ini yaitu metode ceramah, metode brainstorming dan diskusi, metode demonstrasi dan metode pendampingan. Target khusus dalam pelatihan adalah peningkatan jumlah keikutsertaan para guru sebagai pemakalah dalam kegiatan seminar dan konferensi atau publikasi ilmiah baik di Koran, media massa ataupun jurnal. Dari hasil pelatihan diperoleh data bahwa dari 35 peserta, 1 peserta yang makalahnya sudah memenuhi standar penulisan artikel baik dalam Indonesia maupun bahasa Inggris, 5 peserta yang sudah mampu menulis namun masih banyak perbaikan, dan sisanya masih perlu banyak latihan yang intensif. Walaupun hasilnya tidak signifikan, namun antusias peserta dalam mengikuti kegiatan dan bimbingan sangat tinggi dilihat dari hasil evaluasi dengan nilai rata rata 37,68 dari nilai total 40. Dapat disimpulkan bahwa pelatihan academic writing memberikan manfaat dan menambah kesadaran guru akan perlunya mengasah ketrampilan menulis.
