Abstract

Research on liver worm infestation levels in goats was held on 1--30 March 2021 at three livestock groups of Rukun Amrih Sentosa, Mekar 4, and Sido Makmur in Sukoharjo District, Pringsewu Regency. This research aimed to know the infestation level of liver worms in goats. The research method was a survey method with proportional random sampling. The number of samples was 85 goats from the livestock group in Sukoharjo District. Examination of fecal samples was carried out at the Parasitology Laboratory Lampung Veterinary Center using a sedimentation test. The data obtained were presented in tabulation form and then analyzed descriptively. The results showed that the liver fluke infestation level on goats was found at Rukun Amrih Sentosa at 3.77%, while at Mekar 4 and Sido Makmur, the liver fluke infestation was not found (0%). From the results of the examination of samples in Sukoharjo District, it was known that there were 2 positive samples of Fasciola (2.35%) from 85 samples examined, meaning that the level of liver worm infestation in the livestock group of Sukoharjo District was low. Abstract

This research was conducted to study the effect of ration with certain ratio of forage-concentrate and the time of feeding on productivity of male local rabbits. Eighteen rabbits were used in Completely Randomized Block Design with factorial pattern 3 x 2. The rabbits was devided in three groups based on its body weight. Body weight of the first group, the second group, and the third group respectively 1.085 -1.185 g, 1.200-1.365 g, and 1.380-1.530 g. There were two factors in this design. The first factor were ration with certain ratio of forage-concentrate (R). In that factor there was three treatmens, ration with ratio of forage-concentrate 60%:40 as the first treatment (R1), 50% :50% as the second treatment (R2), and 40%:60% as the third treatment (R3). The second factor was the time of feeding (W). There were two treatments in this factor, the time of feeding on day (at 06.00 am. up to 06.00 pm.) as the first treatment (W1) and on night (at 06.00 pm. up to 06.00 am.) as the second treatment (W2). The result indicated that there was no interaction (P>0.05) between ration with certain ratio of forage-concentrate and the time of feeding on feed consumption, average daily gain, and feed efficiency. The factor of ration with certain ratio of forage-concentrate affected (P<0.05) feed consumption, however didn’t affect (P>0.05) average daily gain and feed efficiency. Feed consumption of the rabbits that got treatment ration with ratio of forage-concentrate 40:60% (R3) was the lowest. The time of feeding didn’t affect (P>0.05) feed consumption, average daily gain, and feed efficiency. Keywords: Forage, concentrate, ration, rabbits

Abstract

This research aims to study the effect of addition Multi Nutrients Sauce (MNS) supplement in the ration on consumption of ration, the average daily gain (ADG), and conversion of ration of Rambon goats. The research was conducted for 60 days at the farmer of Adi Luwih Hamlet, Adi Jaya Village, TerbanggiBesar District, Central Lampung Regency, Lampung Province. The research was conducted experimentally using the Randomized Block Design method.  Twelve male Rambon goats were grouped into four based on body weight and given three treatments, namely P0 (100% farmer ration), P1 (P0 + 5% MNS), and P2 (P0 + 10% MNS). The data obtained were analyzed for variance and further test of Least Significant Difference (LSD). The results showed that the addition of MNS 5% and 10% in the ration could increase the ration consumption and ADG of Rambon goats (P<0.05), otherwisw, it did not affect the conversion of ration in all treatments (P>0.05).  The ADG and conversion of ration did not different between 5% and 10% MNS, but the ration consumption of 5% MNS was lower than 10% MNS (P<0.05). It was concluded that the addition of 5% MNS could increase body weight gain, but has not been able to increase the efficiency of the ration

Abstract

This study aimed to determine the repeatability estimate of weaning weight and the Most Probable Producing Ability (MPPA) of female Saburai goats in the Guyup Rukun Farm Group in Sumberejo District, Tanggamus Regency which was conducted in November 2020. The method used in this study was a survey method using 50 Saburai does that had given birth twice from 2016-2020. The observed variables were birth weight, age of the dam at giving birth, weaning age, type of birth, sex and weaning weight at the first and second parity. Weaning weights were corrected for sex, the age of the dam, weaning age of 90 days, and birth type. The repeatability estimate was calculated using interclass correlation method. The Repeatability estimate then was used to estimate the MPPA of Saburai does. The results showed that the repeatability estimate of weaning weight of Saburai goat was 0.72 (high category). The average MPPA of weaning weight for Saburai does was 16.41±0.92 kg with the highest MPPA was 18.92±0.92 kg and the lowest MPPA was 14.96±0.92 kg. There were 18 does with MPPA values above the average of the population in the farmer group with livestock code KI2, KI3, KS3, KI6, KI4, KI5, JW2, MD3, KI1, SK1, MG1, TW2, KS4, SY3, SK2, MG5, SR3, and KT3. Abstract

The study aimed to determine the effect of soybean meal supplementation in the ration on physical quality, namely specific gravity, pH, reductase, and dairy goat milk alcohol tests. The research was conducted from July to Agust 2021 at the Telaga Rizky Ranch owned by Mr. Setiono Heri Winarko, Yosodadi Village, East Metro District, Metro city. The samples used in this study were 12 Sapera goats that were lactating and grouped based on body weight. This study used a randomized block design (RBD) method with 4 treatments and 3 replication, namely P0 (control), P1 (soybean meal 5%), P2 (soybean meal 10%), P3 (soybean meal 15%). The data obtained were than analyzed by variance (ANOVA). The results showed that there was no significant effect (P>0.05) of the treatment on the physical test of diary goats’s milk supplemented with soybean meal. The result showed that the physical test of milk, namely for the specific gravity test was 1.0297 g/cm3, pH was 6,8, reductase was 8,0 hours, and alcohol test was negative. The physical quality of Sapera goat’s milk has good quality and is in accordance with the Indonesian Nasional Standard (2011). Keywords: alcohol, specific gravity, pH, reductase, soybean meal
