Abstract

The library as a source of information services includes activities of processing, collecting, presenting, disseminating and preserving information. The library is one of the efforts to maintain and improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the teaching and learning process. Establishing a library in a mosque is the right step to achieve this goal by creating a center of knowledge that can improve the congregation's understanding of the importance of harmony in community life. The library at the Dirgantara Mosque has an important role in facilitating harmony among religious communities. This facility not only functions as a place to increase knowledge and interest in reading, but also as an effort to increase the level of community literacy. With effective management, this library can be a resource that motivates the community to use it, which in turn will contribute to increasing intellectuality and social development. This study uses descriptive qualitative with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, and documentation. The results of the study indicate that the existence of a library at the Dirgantara Mosque plays a role in providing religious literature and also general literature for mosque visitors. The provision of various literature is intended to increase the insight of Muslims from various reference sources. In addition, the existence of a library in the mosque area allows mosque visitors to have other activities while waiting for prayer times. The library at the Dirgantara Mosque also has 6 shelves of religious literature such as Islamic Fiqh, Creed and Morals, Practices and Prayers.

Abstract

Penelitian ini menganalisis tingkat kepuasan pengguna terhadap Aplikasi Mobile Library Perpustakaan UIN-SU dengan menggunakan model End User Computing Satisfaction (EUCS) yang menganalisis sistem berdasarkan isi (content), keakuratan (accuracy), bentuk (format), kemudahan pengguna (ease of use) , dan ketepatan waktu (ketepatan waktu). Penelitian ini menggunakan pendekatan deskriptif kuantitatif, dengan pengumpulan data melalui penyebaran kuesioner. Populasi pada penelitian ini adalah mahasiswa UIN Sumatera Utara Medan yang berjumlah 92 responden. Kepuasan Komputasi Pengguna Akhir (EUCS). Hasil dari penelitian ini menunjukkan tingkat kepuasan pengguna terhadap Aplikasi Mobile Library Perpustakaan UIN-SU secara keseluruhan berdasarkan mean dari masing-masing setiap pernyataan masuk dalam kategori puas.

Abstract

Cara orang mendapatkan informasi telah berubah karena teknologi informasi dan komunikasi (TIK), termasuk perpustakaan yang kini beralih menjadi digital. iPusnas adalah salah satu aplikasi perpustakaan digital yang ada di Indonesia, yang dirancang untuk memudahkan akses informasi bagi masyarakat, termasuk mahasiswa. Pendekatan deskriptif digunakan dalam penelitian kualitatif ini. 10 mahasiswa ilmu perpustakaan UIN Sumatera utara diwawancarai guna mengumpulkan data untuk memahami pemanfaatan iPusnas dan faktor-faktor yang mempengaruhinya. iPusnas dinilai mudah digunakan dan bermanfaat untuk kebutuhan akademik mahasiswa. Namun, terdapat beberapa kendala seperti kesalahan sistem, koleksi yang kurang lengkap, tidak adanya notifikasi pesan chatting, dan batas peminjaman buku yang rendah. Kendala-kendala ini mempengaruhi efektivitas penggunaan aplikasi oleh mahasiswa.  iPusnas memiliki potensi besar untuk mendukung kebutuhan akademik mahasiswa, namun belum optimal digunakan. Diperlukan peningkatan dalam sistem teknis, perluasan koleksi, penambahan notifikasi pesan chatting, dan revisi batas peminjaman buku untuk meningkatkan pemanfaatan aplikasi ini.

Abstract

This research concerns the Institutional Management Policy of the Medan Area University Library Repository.The purpose of this research is to find out how the institutional management policy of the repository in the Medan Area University library. This research is a descriptive study using a qualitative approach, datacollection techniques with observation, interviews and documentation. The results of this study indicate that the background of the Institutional Repository in the Medan Area University Library is an effort to optimize library tasks in collecting, storing, managing, organizing, preserving, and distributing scientific work information, especially within the Medan Area University academic community. The institutional goal of the repository for the Medan Area University library is to collect (collect), manage, preserve, and open access (distribute) all intellectual works produced by the UMA academic community, both students, lecturers, and staff. The institutional management strategy for the Medan Area University library repository all librarians and employees at the Medan Area University library are involved in repository management, because little or not all human resources (HR) are involved, the library also carries out promotions by conducting outreach to students and also promotion through social media such as ig and fb, building library repositories using hardware (hardware) such as computers and software (software) made by outside developers, preserving library collections Medan Area University library providing external hard drives from CDs that have been given by students to the library then copied to an external hard drive.

Abstract

This research discusses the ancient tombs in Kota Rentang: history and tombstone variations. The focus of the research is how the history is related to the site in Kota Rentang, how to shape the tombstones, and what the various tombstones in the town explain. The research method used is the historical method, including the stages of data collection through heuristics, verification, interpretation, and historiography. A qualitative approach is used to understand the subject in depth. Data collection techniques include observation, interview, and documentation. Direct observation was conducted by visiting the village in North Sumatra and the archaeological center, interviews were conducted with informants from the North Sumatra archaeological center and the Kota Rentang village community. Documentation is done by studying document sources in the form of manuscripts, photographs, and others. The results showed that the site was a very active trading port around the 11th to 15th centuries AD in the administrative area of Rentang Village, Perak District, Deli Serdang Regency. The history associated with this area is the Aru/Haru Kingdom as mentioned in the Sulalatus Salatin records. Artifacts found date from the 12th to 15th centuries AD, including ancient tombs with headstones from Pasai. Other finds include celadon, pottery and other fragments. The tombs were found in the city's communal cemetery and the scattered tombstones are thought to date back to the 14th century AD and are believed to reflect the morphology of modern tombstones today.

Abstract

This study explores the historical heritage of the Langkat Sultanate, specifically focusing on mosques and tombs. The documentation and preservation of historical relics are crucial to maintaining their value as part of the nation's identity. The research employs a historical approach using methods such as heuristics, source criticism, interpretation, architectural analysis, and historiography. Data were collected through interviews, direct observation at the research site, and literature studies. The findings indicate that Gebang played a significant role in the history of the Langkat Sultanate, particularly during the reign of Raja Ahmad. Notable relics such as mosques, tombs, wells, ponds, and bridges serve as physical evidence of this historical period. These artifacts are vital in preserving the historical narrative and educating the younger generation about the Sultanate's legacy. The research underscores the importance of recognizing and safeguarding these remnants for future generations.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the transfer of archival media as a preservation effort. The research method used is a qualitative method with descriptive research that uses interview methods to describe data obtained directly by researchers. The research results show that the media transfer processing process as a preservation effort must use guidelines, namely SOP (standard operational procedure) or media transfer processing workflow issued by the National Archives of the Republic of Indonesia. With this SOP (standard operational procedure), it will be easier for archives to transfer documents. This SOP was prepared to provide guidance or stages in implementing the media transfer process and is expected to make it easier for archivists to carry out the media transfer process. The obstacles/constraints faced in the process of transferring archival media as a preservation effort are the obstacles faced by archivists in processing media transfer collections in a preservation effort, namely the lack of human resources, many archivists in the North Labuhanbatu Library and Archives Service do not yet know about media transfer processing, only 2 archivists who can process transfer of media and also inadequate facilities and infrastructure.

Abstract

Tujuan penelitian ini adalah untuk mengkaji tradisi seni burdah yang masih dilestarikan oleh masyarakat desa pesisir Gunting Saga, Kabupaten Labuhanbatu Utara. Melestarikan tradisi seni burdah adalah salah satu upaya untuk menjaga kesenian asli kerajaan Kualuh. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah penelitian lapangan dengan pendekatan kualitatif. Data dikumpulkan melalui observasi, wawancara dan dokumentasi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa tradisi seni burdah di desa pesisir Gunting Saga merupakan dari kerajaan Kualuh, tradisi seni burdah dilakukan oleh masyarakat desa pesisir saat acara pernikahan dan khitanan, masyarakat pesisir desa Gunting Saga sangat menjunjung tinggi dari nilai-nilai tradisi seni burdah karena sebagai upaya untuk melestarikan dan mengembangkan seni burdah sebagai aset budaya yang berharga bagi masyarakat pesisir desa Gunting Saga.

Abstract

Research entitled "Evaluation of Collection Utilization Level at the Library of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia in North Sumatra." The main issue addressed in this thesis is the level of collection utilization at the Library of the Majelis Ulama Indonesia in North Sumatra. This study aims to evaluate the level of collection utilization at the library. The research method used is quantitative with a descriptive approach. Data collection techniques include surveys and documentation. Data processing uses descriptive quantitative analysis using frequency and percentage. The collected data are tested for validity and reliability using IBM SPSS v23 software. The results and discussion of this study show that the average perception score of library users is 81.85%, indicating a positive perception of collection utilization. However, efforts are needed from the library to improve or expand its collection, so that collection utilization can increase and gain better perception in the future.

Abstract

The aim of this research is to determine efforts to improve the quality of reference services to library users. So the attitude of users in the library is very important to know the needs and desires of users and to know user satisfaction. Therefore, information regarding user satisfaction can be used as criticism and input for service strategies. The results of this research show that efforts to improve the quality of reference services in meeting the needs of librarians are carried out in 2 ways, namely: with general efforts by means of smiles, greetings, greetings, politeness and politeness, and special efforts such as from the librarian's personal abilities. in serving readers, such as frequently carrying out promotional activities, both through literacy class activities and promotions on various media such as Instagram, Facebook and YouTube. The obstacles faced by librarians in improving the quality of reference services in meeting library needs, such as the available e-book databases, are not evenly distributed across all study programs. The e-journal database that is subscribed to does not fully contain the core journals for each study program. There is still a lack of user understanding about the differences between reference books and standard books, where reference books are a type of book that cannot be borrowed. There is an inappropriate attitude of some users and a lack of skills that users have regarding online-based reference services.
