Abstract

Sebagai lembaga pendidikan, Perpustakaan SMA Negeri 1 Medan memainkan peran penting dalam menyebarkan pengetahuan dan literasi. Di tengah perubahan teknologi dan ancaman hama, penelitian ini menyelidiki masalah yang dihadapi perpustakaan dalam hal konservasi dan pelestarian koleksi mereka. Penelitian ini menemukan bahwa perpustakaan telah melakukan upaya pemeliharaan fisik koleksi melalui penataan, pembersihan, aromaterapi, dan fumigasi secara berkala. Namun, belum ada pendekatan konservasi yang menyeluruh untuk mencegah kerusakan lingkungan, yang menimbulkan kekhawatiran tentang keberlanjutan koleksi. Pedoman preservasi yang terintegrasi diperlukan untuk mendukung pemeliharaan koleksi yang lebih luas, yang mencakup perlindungan bahan pustaka serta peningkatan estetika dan aksesibilitas informasi. Penelitian ini menekankan pentingnya pedoman ini. Tujuan dari artikel ini adalah untuk memberikan analisis mendalam tentang praktik konservasi dan pengelolaan yang digunakan oleh perpustakaan SMA Negeri 1 Medan, serta untuk menentukan strategi pengelolaan yang berhasil dan praktik pengelolaan yang tepat untuk diterapkan. Tidak hanya untuk SMA Negeri 1 Medan, tetapi juga untuk institusi sejenis di seluruh dunia, artikel ini diharapkan dapat memberikan kontribusi signifikan dalam proses pengembangan perpustakaan sekolah. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini memberikan pemahaman tentang kesulitan dan peluang yang dihadapi perpustakaan saat menjalankan kegiatan konservasi dan preservasi. Ini juga menunjukkan betapa pentingnya memahami koleksi secara menyeluruh, literasi siswa, dan penerapan teknologi dalam rencana pemecahan masalah.

Abstract

Literasi informasi adalah seperangkat keterampilan dalam mengakses, memahami, menganaliss, mengevaluasi serta mengaplikasikan informasi sesuai dengan kebutuhan sesorang. Dalam hal ini yang diteliti adalah kemampuan literasi informasi Ibu Milenial di Desa Sei Semayam. Model literasi informasi yang digunakan pada penelitian in adalah Big 6, yaitu tahapan keterampilan terdiri dari enam tahap mulai dari merumuskan masalah hingga evaluasi. Metode penelitian yang digunakan adalah metode deskriptif kualitatif, yaitu jenis penelitian yang digunakan untuk mendeskripsikan suatu keadaan atau fenomena yang sedang terjadi. Teknik analisis data dilakukan dengan reduksi data, penyajian data dan kesimpulan/verifikasi data. Hasil yang ditemukan adalah Ibu Milenial di Desa Sei Semayam memiliki kemampuan literasi informasi yang cukup baik terhadap informasi pola asuh anak. Adapun peran dari kemampuan literasi informasi yang relevan, memahami informasi sesuai kebutuhan anak, dan menghasilkan pola asuh yang dinamis

Abstract

User satisfaction is closely related to and depends on the quality of library services. However, even though user satisfaction is an important aspect for library progress, there are still some libraries that do not pay enough attention to the issue of user satisfaction, especially the North Sumatra Indonesian Ulema Council Library. The aim of this research is to determine the level of user satisfaction with the library services of the Indonesian Ulema Council of North Sumatra based on the LibQUAL+TM Method. This research uses a descriptive survey research type with a quantitative approach. The data collection techniques in this research are observation and questionnaires. The results of this research show that user satisfaction with the library services of the Indonesian Ulema Council of North Sumatra is based on the Affect of Service dimension. ) with a score of -0.88, meaning that the service is considered good but does not fully meet the ideal expectations of users. Based on the Information Control dimension, the user assessment is not satisfied with the adequacy gap (AG) with a score of -0.32, meaning the user is not satisfied with the service received and the superiority gap (SG) with a score of -1.79, meaning the service is considered not good and is beyond tolerance zone or completely does not meet the ideal expectations desired by the user. Based on the Library as Place dimensions, it shows an adequacy gap (AG) with a score of 0.55, meaning the user is quite satisfied and a superiority gap (SG) with an assessment score of -0.44, meaning the service is still considered good but does not fully meet the user's ideal expectations.

Abstract

This thesis discusses the utilization of reservoir collection services at the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University Library. The aim to be achieved from this research is to find out how the reservoir collection service is utilized in the library of the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University. This research uses descriptive methods with a qualitative approach. By using data collection techniques, namely through observation, interviews and documentation. The informants in this research were librarians at the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University library. The results of this research show that the use of reserve collections (tandon) in the library of the Syekh Ali Hasan Ahmad Addary Padangsidimpuan State Islamic University. Reserve collection is a service for the use of textbooks which can be used as a reserve if the collection of textbooks provided in the circulation room has been borrowed by users. Reserve collections can only be photocopied. Its use cannot be loaned, it can only be read on the spot.

Abstract

This research aims to determine the transformation of the Dar Al-Maarif Basilam Baru Islamic boarding school. The research used is a historical research method through heuristic stages of collecting historical sources by means of interviews and archives in the form of Islamic boarding school founding deeds, verification (criticism of data), interpretation and historiography. In this research, the author uses a historical approach. As for the theory, the author uses Aguste Comte's social theory. The aim of this research is to find out the history of the establishment of the Dar Al-Maarif Basilam Baru Islamic Boarding School, South Labuhanbatu Regency in 1992-2021 and the development of the Dar Al-Maarif Basilam Baru Islamic Boarding School in 1992-2021. The results of this research concluded that the New Dar Al-Maarif Basilam Islamic Boarding School was founded in 1992 by Sheikh Abdullah Efendi. Before the establishment of the Dar Al-Maarif Basilam Baru Islamic Boarding School, it was only a religious pilgrimage and study carried out for the people of Sosopan village and its surroundings. The Dar Al-Maarif Basilam Baru Islamic Boarding School has developed from various aspects which include the development of facilities and infrastructure, the development of students, the development of work programs. Developments in terms of prayer rooms used for student activities. The development of santri students, which was initially only dozens of santri, has now reached a thousand santri. Dar Al-Maarif Islamic Boarding School has progressed in its development due to several factors that influence it, namely the role of the founder of the Islamic boarding school, family, support from the surrounding community and the infrastructure it has. Meanwhile, the inhibiting factors are the behavior of the students, management cadre formation, and the Islamic boarding school's financial resources.

Abstract

This research was conducted at the Library and Archives Office of Labuhan Batu Regency. The purpose of this study was to find out about the Interpersonal Communication of Librarians in the Digital Reading Corner at the Library and Archives Service of the Labuhan Batu Regency Government. The research method used is a qualitative method, this research intends to reveal the phenomena that exist in the field, namely: How is the interpersonal communication of libraries to users in the digital reading corner. Next, the researchers conducted interviews with 2 librarians at the Labuhan Batu Regency Library and Archives Service. The results of the study indicate that the library is the human resource in the library which is used as a benchmark for the progress of a library or digital reading corner. A librarian is a person who provides and carries out activities in a library or digital reading corner in an effort to provide a service to users in accordance with the vision and mission of the parent institution Constraints that often occur in digital reading corners are the lack of human resources, the lack of facilities provided, the lack of interest in reading by the public. It can be concluded that the constraint of the digital reading corner with circumstances that can hinder the ease and development of the digital reading corner.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengkaji peran Komunitas Rumah Internet (Rumnet) dalam meningkatkan literasi informasi masyarakat di daerah 3T (Tertinggal, Terdepan, dan Terluar). Rendahnya tingkat literasi informasi di wilayah ini disebabkan oleh keterbatasan akses teknologi dan informasi. Komunitas Rumnet, di bawah naungan Yayasan Muda Satu Abdi, hadir sebagai upaya strategis untuk menjembatani kesenjangan digital melalui penyediaan fasilitas akses internet, pelatihan literasi digital, dan program pemberdayaan masyarakat.Metode pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui pendekatan kualitatif deskriptif dengan teknik observasi, wawancara mendalam, dan dokumentasi. Informasi dikumpulkan dari pengelola Rumnet, masyarakat desa, serta tenaga pendamping.Analisis data dilakukan dengan model Miles dan Huberman, yang meliputi reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan.Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa keberadaan Rumnet mampu meningkatkan kemampuan masyarakat dalam mengakses, memahami, dan memanfaatkan informasi secara efektif. Namun, kendala seperti keterbatasan infrastruktur teknologi, kurangnya tenaga pendamping, serta rendahnya kesadaran masyarakat masih menjadi tantangan signifikan.Kesimpulan dari penelitian ini menunjukkan bahwa Rumnet memiliki kontribusi penting dalam peningkatan literasi informasi, namun perlu dukungan yang lebih luas dari pemerintah dan pihak terkait untuk memperkuat infrastruktur, sumber daya manusia, dan keberlanjutan program literasi digital.

Abstract

Reading interest is a crucial factor in the development of literate human resources. However, a low reading habit remains a persistent issue, including in Pematangsiantar City. In response, the Pematangsiantar City Archives and Library Office implemented the Reading Culture Development Program to enhance public literacy awareness through activities such as mobile library services, reading culture campaigns, and literacy competitions. This study aims to analyze the effectiveness of these activities in increasing reading interest among the public, identify the challenges encountered during implementation, and propose strategies for future development. A qualitative approach with a descriptive design was employed. Data were collected through in-depth interviews with three key informants involved in program implementation and analyzed using Miles and Huberman’s interactive model, encompassing data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the program has significantly influenced reading behavior, increased library visits, and fostered literacy habits among students. Despite technical barriers such as limited facilities and time constraints, the program was effectively executed through strong coordination and adaptive delivery strategies. In conclusion, the Reading Culture Development Program has proven effective in cultivating a reading culture and holds potential as a replicable model for other regions through strategic, theory-based, and community-participatory approaches. Abstrak Minat baca merupakan faktor krusial dalam pembangunan sumber daya manusia yang literat. Namun, rendahnya kebiasaan membaca masih menjadi permasalahan klasik, termasuk di Kota Pematangsiantar. Merespons hal tersebut, Dinas Arsip dan Perpustakaan Kota Pematangsiantar melaksanakan kegiatan Pembudayaan Gemar Membaca untuk meningkatkan kesadaran literasi masyarakat melalui kegiatan Perpustakaan Keliling, Sosialisasi Budaya Membaca, dan Lomba Literasi. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis efektivitas kegiatan tersebut dalam meningkatkan minat baca masyarakat, mengidentifikasi kendala pelaksanaan, serta merumuskan strategi pengembangan ke depan. Metode yang digunakan adalah pendekatan kualitatif dengan desain deskriptif. Data dikumpulkan melalui wawancara mendalam pada tiga informan dengan pihak pelaksana kegiatan dan dianalisis menggunakan teknik analisis interaktif Miles dan Huberman yang mencakup reduksi data, penyajian data, dan penarikan kesimpulan. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa kegiatan ini memberikan dampak signifikan terhadap perubahan perilaku membaca, peningkatan kunjungan ke perpustakaan, dan terbentuknya kebiasaan literasi di kalangan pelajar. Meski terdapat hambatan teknis seperti keterbatasan fasilitas dan waktu, kegiatan tetap terlaksana secara efektif berkat koordinasi dan strategi penyampaian yang adaptif. Kesimpulannya, kegiatan Pembudayaan Gemar Membaca terbukti efektif dalam membangun budaya membaca, serta dapat menjadi model yang layak diterapkan di daerah lain dengan pendekatan strategis berbasis teori dan partisipasi komunitas

Abstract

Background: This research uses an effective understanding of interpersonal communication and finds out what influences library users to visit the library at Universitas Negeri Medan.Objective: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of interpersonal communication and service quality on library satisfaction at Universitas Negeri Medan.Methods: This data collection technique is through observation and documentation. This data analysis technique uses thematic analysis. In providing services, librarians must foster positive, transparent, and interpersonal relationships by providing services that make librarians very happy when visiting the library. Communication is one of the most important factors in working between humans and other people in the work environment, for example, between employees in the same position or employees in different positions. The purpose of this research is to obtain information or feedback and improve user-friendly services, which is a form of collaboration between users and librarians to understand the purpose and objectives.Results: The results of this study prove that the most important thing is the positive influence of positive service to visitors and the quality of service to the accuracy of consumers can be well received.Conclusion: Based on the results of the research, a desktop-based information system application can be produced that can handle library services, among others, such as membership registration services, loans, returns, storage, library catalogue services, and compensation services.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze user acceptance of the DIBACA digital library platform in Deli Serdang Regency using the Technology Acceptance Model (TAM) framework. A descriptive quantitative approach was employed, involving 97 respondents selected through purposive sampling. The research instrument was developed based on five main TAM constructs: perceived usefulness, perceived ease of use, attitude toward use, behavioral intention to use, and actual system use. The results indicate that users generally have a positive perception of the platform’s usefulness and ease of use, particularly in terms of information retrieval and willingness to recommend DIBACA. However, usage intensity and the development of digital habits remain suboptimal, with barriers related to low usage frequency, technical challenges, and limited contribution of the platform to user productivity. The study concludes that DIBACA has been moderately well accepted both cognitively and affectively, but this acceptance is not yet fully reflected in actual usage behavior. Therefore, a more comprehensive strategy involving increased outreach, user training, and the development of relevant features is needed to encourage more consistent and sustainable adoption. These findings provide practical contributions to the development of region-based digital library services and reinforce the applicability of the TAM framework in the context of local public services.
