Abstract

This study analyzes land use changes in Jember Regency, East Java, with a focus on the conversion of agricultural land to non-agricultural land during the period 2013–2023 and predicts land use for the next decade. This study highlights the impact of population growth on land conversion, especially the shift from agricultural land to urban areas that has the potential to threaten food security. By utilizing GLC-FCS30D satellite imagery and combining Markov Chain and Cellular Automata methods, this study analyzes spatial data to predict scenarios of future land use change. The results of the analysis show a significant decrease in the area of ​​rice fields, from 95,985.09 hectares in 2012 to a projected 93,706.22 hectares in 2032. Additionally, we estimate a food deficit in 2032, with rice needs reaching 625,664 tons, while production remains stagnant at 531,314.26 tons. These findings emphasize the importance of formulating strategic land management policies to protect agricultural land and ensure the sustainability of food production amidst the pressures of urbanization and demographic growth.   Penelitian ini menganalisis perubahan penggunaan lahan di Kabupaten Jember, Jawa Timur, dengan fokus pada alih fungsi lahan pertanian menjadi lahan non-pertanian selama periode 2013–2023, serta memprediksi penggunaan lahan untuk satu dekade mendatang. Studi ini menyoroti dampak pertumbuhan penduduk terhadap konversi lahan, khususnya pergeseran dari lahan pertanian ke wilayah perkotaan yang berpotensi mengancam ketahanan pangan. Dengan memanfaatkan citra satelit GLC-FCS30D dan menggabungkan metode Markov Chain dan Cellular Automata, penelitian ini menganalisis data spasial untuk memprediksi skenario perubahan penggunaan lahan di masa depan. Hasil analisis menunjukkan penurunan signifikan pada luas lahan sawah, dari 95.985,09 hektare pada 2012 menjadi proyeksi 93.706,22 hektare pada 2032. Selain itu, diperkirakan akan terjadi defisit pangan pada tahun 2032, dengan kebutuhan beras mencapai 625.664 ton, sementara produksi stagnan di angka 531.314,26 ton. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya perumusan kebijakan pengelolaan lahan yang strategis untuk melindungi lahan pertanian dan menjamin keberlanjutan produksi pangan di tengah tekanan urbanisasi dan pertumbuhan demografis.

Abstract

Perkembangan ilmu pengetahuan dan teknologi abad ke-21 mendorong transformasi dalam dunia pendidikan. Keterbatasan dalam penerapan bahan ajar yang mendukung tujuan pembelajaran dan sesuai dengan kebutuhan siswa menjadi tantangan dalam penerapan keterampilan abad ke-21. Dibutuhkan bahan ajar pendamping pada pembelajaran geografi yang bersifat kontekstual, spasial yang mengintegrasikan konteks lokal. Oleh karena itu, penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mengembangkan produk bahan ajar pendamping dalam pembelajaran geografi yaitu Kediri Earthspace dan untuk mengetahui kelayakan serta respon pengguna. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian Research and Development dengan model pengembangan ADDIE (Analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation). Uji coba dilakukan kepada 33 siswa kelas X-12 dan satu orang guru geografi di SMA Negeri 2 Pare. Pengumpulan data dilakukan melalui observasi, wawancara dan angket dengan analisis deskriptif kualitatif. Hasil validasi ahli materi menunjukkan persentase 86,67%, dan ahli bahan ajar menunjukkan persentase 93,75%. Persentase keduanya menunjukkan kategori Sangat Layak. Sedangkan, respon siswa menunjukkan persentase 85,03% dan respon guru sebesar 93,52%. Maka, dapat disimpulkan bahwa produk bahan ajar Kediri Earthspace memenuhi kategori sangat layak dan dapat diterapkan dalam pembelajaran geografi.

Abstract

Effective learning depends on innovative and interesting way of presenting the material to increase students' interest in learning. This study aims to apply Spatial.io learning media on hydrosphere material, as well as improve critical thinking skills of students in class X-1 SMAN 1 Lawang. The method used was class action research (PTK), the subject taken was class X-1 with a total of 34 students. Data taken using pre-test post-test and critical thinking skills of students. The results revealed an increase from pre-test to post-test of 26 students, 8 students experienced the same score from both tests, with none experiencing a decrease. Hypothesis testing using the Wilcoxon Test results obtained Asymp.Sig. (2-tailed) 0.000 <0.05, it can be decided that the alternative hypothesis (Ha) is accepted and rejects the null hypothesis (H0). It can be concluded that there is an influence on the application of Spatial.io learning media on students' ability to understand as evidenced by the pre-test and post-test. In critical thinking skills, 34 students were recorded at a percentage of 66 ≤ P ≤ 100 which is categorized as being at a minimum of medium and a maximum of very high scores. This research shows that virtual reality technology not only improves students' critical thinking skills, but also attracts students' understanding of environmental issues.

Abstract

The Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) has an important role in improving the competency of prospective teachers to meet professional demands. This research aims to analyze the implementation of the collaborative learning (CL) model in improving the competency of Pre-Service Teacher Education students during Field Experience Practices (PPL). The CL model implemented integrates three main approaches: co-teaching, coaching, and consulting, involving students, tutors (GP), and field supervisors (DPL) in one collaborative team. The research method used is descriptive qualitative with a classroom action approach, collecting data through observation, interviews, and questionnaires before and after implementing the model. The research results showed a significant increase in students' pedagogical, personality, professional and social competencies. The implementation of the collaborative model succeeded in increasing the average score of students' pedagogical abilities from 3.08 to 3.86. Additionally, 80% of students reported increased self-confidence and interpersonal skills. In terms of classroom management, 80% of students were able to create an active learning atmosphere after the program. Improvements in social skills were also visible, with the average score increasing from 3.5 to 4.2, reflecting students' ability to share ideas and collaborate. Collaborative learning not only improves academic skills, but also supports the development of teacher candidates' personality and social skills, preparing them for challenges in the dynamic world of education

Abstract

National food security is highly dependent on the sustainability of the agricultural sector, where commodities such as bird’s eye chili are very important. In Malang Regency, especially in Wiyurejo Village, the income of bird’s eye chili farmers is strongly influenced by changes in crop yields caused by various internal and external factors, including climate change, agricultural practices, and limited capital resources. Despite the expansion of chili cultivation, farmers' incomes often do not show a substantial increase. This study aims to identify and analyze the determining factors that affect the income of bird’s eye chili farmers in Wiyurejo Village, with an emphasis on land area, capital, and production output. The methodology used is quantitative descriptive, using a multiple linear regression approach, and involving 98 randomly selected participants. The results of the study indicate that although land area is positively correlated with income, the effect is not statistically significant. Capital does not have a substantial effect on income, while production output has a very beneficial effect. The coefficient of determination is 78.1%, indicating that increased production output is an important determining factor for farmers' income and thus contributes to national food security. Therefore, increasing production efficiency can be the key to improving farmers' welfare and supporting national food security

Abstract

A mother’s decision to engage in employment carries significant social and economic implications for both the family and the individual. This study aims to examine the influence of education level, family income, and participation in family planning programs on mothers’ decisions to work in Kedampul Village, Duwet Subdistrict, Malang Regency. A quantitative research design was employed, utilizing logistic regression analysis to investigate these relationships among 77 respondents. The results indicate that education level and participation in family planning programs do not significantly affect mothers’ decisions to work. Conversely, family income has a significant influence, where lower family income increases the likelihood of maternal employment. These findings highlight the predominance of economic factors over educational attainment and family planning participation in shaping maternal labor force participation in this rural context. This study offers insights for policymakers and stakeholders focused on women’s empowerment and family welfare in similar socio-economic settings.

Abstract

Asesmen sumatif berfungsi untuk mengukur capaian siswa setelah menyelesaikan suatu materi pembelajaran. Diperlukan analisis butir soal untuk memastikan instrumen berkualitas. Penelitian ini bertujuan mengidentifikasi kualitas butir soal pada asesmen sumatif materi peta, penginderaan jauh, dan sistem informasi geografis. Penelitian ini termasuk jenis kuantitatif deskriptif yang dipilih dengan teknik purposive sampling pada 34 siswa kelas X di salah satu SMA Negeri di Malang. Data diperoleh melalui studi dokumentasi instrumen asesmen dan jawaban siswa, teknik analisis menggunakan uji validitas, reliabilitas, indeks kesukaran, daya beda, dan efektivitas distraktor. Hasil menunjukkan 84% butir soal valid dan reliabilitas 0,76 (reliabel). Tingkat kesukaran soal didominasi kategori sedang 88%. Daya beda butir soal optimal sebesar 88% item, sedangkan efektivitas distraktor berfungsi pada 68%. Profil pemahaman siswa menunjukkan bahwa materi peta memiliki rata-rata dan nilai tertinggi dibandingkan penginderaan jauh dan SIG. Secara keseluruhan, asesmen sumatif geografi telah memenuhi standar kualitas instrumen meskipun diperlukan revisi pada butir soal yang bermasalah untuk meningkatkan akurasi penilaian dimasa mendatang. Penelitian ini memberikan kerangka kuantitatif yang dapat diadopsi oleh guru untuk meninjau dan merevisi butir soal, serta mendorong penerapan analisis butir soal secara rutin guna meningkatkan efektivitas penilaian pembelajaran geografi.

Abstract

Teknologi digital menjadi aspek penting dalam pendidikan di era revolusi industri 4.0 dan society 5.0. Guru geografi di Lumajang masih menghadapi kendala dalam pemanfaatan teknologi terutama terkait keterampilan membuat media pembelajaran digital yang interaktif. Penelitian ini bertujuan meningkatkan kompetensi profesional dan kemampuan visual spasial guru melalui pelatihan serta pendampingan pembuatan e-komik strip berbantuan Artificial Intelligence (AI) berbasis kearifan lokal. Program pengabdian dilaksanakan di SMA Negeri 3 Lumajang dengan melibatkan 10 guru MGMP Geografi. Metode yang digunakan adalah Service Learning yang dipadukan dengan pendekatan kuantitatif melalui pretest dan posttest menggunakan instrumen angket keterampilan guru dan tes visual spasial. Hasilnya menunjukkan adanya peningkatan signifikan dengan skor N-Gain sebesar 0,61 (kategori sedang),yang menandakan efektivitas program dalam memperkuat keterampilan guru. Dampak lain yang terlihat adalah meningkatnya kreativitas guru dalam mengembangkan materi ajar serta kemampuan memanfaatkan TIK secara lebih adaptif. Tantangan berupa keterbatasan waktu dan kebutuhan pelatihan berkelanjutan tetap menjadi catatan penting. Penelitian ini menyimpulkan bahwa integrasi AI dengan kearifan lokal melalui media e-komik dapat menjadi strategi inovatif untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran geografi. Rekomendasi diarahkan pada perluasan program, penguatan kolaborasi antara kampus, sekolah, dan komunitas pendidikan, serta penyediaan dukungan sarana digital yang memadai.

Abstract

Majene Regency, specifically the Banggae Timur District, is at considerable risk of tsunamis due to its coastal location and increasing urban density. This research evaluates the effectiveness of current Temporary Evacuation Shelters (TES) using a spatial analysis methodology combined with location-allocation modeling. The methodology included tsunami inundation mapping utilizing historical data, identification of building points, analysis of TES capacity, and modeling of service areas within a maximum evacuation radius of 935 meters.The study concentrated on two specific TES: Prasamya Stadium and the Majene Regency Police Station. Although both locations possess adequate capacity for hosting evacuees, they are situated within high-risk tsunami inundation zones (5–6 meters), making them inappropriate for safe evacuation. Spatial allocation modeling indicates that these TES predominantly serve the western section of Banggae Timur District, resulting in considerable underservicing of eastern coastal areas and increased risk. Of the 2,774 houses located within the tsunami inundation zone, 1,506 are currently unserved by the existing TES. The findings highlight the necessity of identifying and establishing new TES in safer, elevated areas with enhanced accessibility to improve evacuation coverage and safety. This study emphasizes the importance of spatial modeling in enhancing evidence-based disaster mitigation planning. It offers precise, data-driven insights for optimizing emergency infrastructure and minimizing population risk exposure in urban areas susceptible to tsunamis.

Abstract

Pembelajaran berdiferensiasi diakui pentingnya dalam mengakomodasi beragam gaya belajar, kecepatan, dan kemampuan siswa. Dalam konteks geografi, pendekatan ini memungkinkan guru untuk merancang pembelajaran yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan individu, menciptakan lingkungan inklusif. Pengabdian ini dilakukan dengan cara memberikan materi kependudukan dan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi kepada guru-guru geografi di Kabupaten Pamekasan. Manfaat pelatihan pembelajaran berdiferensiasi, termasuk optimalisasi pembelajaran, peningkatan hasil belajar, pemberdayaan guru, dan penciptaan lingkungan inklusif. Referensi yang relevan mengenai diferensiasi pembelajaran juga disajikan sebagai dukungan. Materi kependudukan diberikan dalam rangka untuk memberikan informasi dan masalah-masalah kependudukan yang ada di Kabupaten Pamekasan agar menambah wawasan dan memberikan jalan kepada guru untuk turut berpartisipasi mensosialisasikan kepada siswa terkait dengan masalah penduduk di Kabupaten Pamekasan. Dengan menerapkan pelatihan ini, guru-guru di Kabupaten Pamekasan lebih siap menghadapi tantangan kelas yang beragam dan merancang pembelajaran yang efektif. Upaya tersebut memberikan dampak positif terhadap kualitas pendidikan Geografi di wilayah Kabupaten Pamekasan.
