Abstract

Pharmaceutical services provided by pharmacists and pharmacy personnel in healthcare facilities must consistently maintain high service quality. In addition to ensuring the safety and effectiveness of therapy, good service quality can enhance patient satisfaction and loyalty. The objective of this study was to determine the effect of the quality of clinical pharmaceutical services on outpatient loyalty at dr. R. Soetijono Regional General Hospital, Blora. This study employed a quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach. The research sample was selected using purposive sampling, with inclusion criteria consisting of outpatients who had received pharmaceutical services at least once. Data were analyzed using the chi-square statistical test to examine the effect of pharmaceutical service quality on patient loyalty. The results from 400 respondents indicated that the overall quality of pharmaceutical services was rated as good by 278 respondents (69.5%), and 303 respondents (75.8%) were categorized as loyal patients. Chi-square analysis yielded a p-value of < 0.001, indicating a significant effect of pharmaceutical service quality on outpatient loyalty at dr. R. Soetijono Regional General Hospital, Blora.

Abstract

Leukemia is one type of cancer with a high mortality rate, caused by the proliferation of abnormal white blood cells that disrupt hematopoiesis function. Conventional therapies, such as chemotherapy and targeted therapy, often face challenges in the form of side effects and drug resistance. This study aims to evaluate the potential of Catharanthus roseus as a leukemia therapeutic agent through in silico. The docking process uses autodock, and ADMET prediction uses SwissADME and PKCMS. The study used the ABL1 protein (PDB ID: 4TWP) as a target with active compounds of Catharanthus roseus. The validation process of the docking method showed an RMSD value of 0.705 Å, indicating that the method used was valid. The results of the docking simulation showed that vindoline had the best affinity after native ligands with a binding energy of -8.64 kcal/mol, followed by catharanthine -6.16 kcal/mol and tryptophan -3.87 kcal/mol. ADMET prediction analysis showed that vindoline and catharanthine had promising pharmacokinetic and toxicity profiles, such as good blood-brain barrier (BBB) permeability and did not inhibit the CYP3A4 enzyme. These results indicate that vindoline and catharanthine are potential alternative leukemia treatments with high efficacy and low risk of side effects. This study provides a basis for further exploration of Catharanthus roseus in the development of effective and safe leukemia therapies.

Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic disease whose management is substantially determined by an individual's capacity to access and utilize health-related information. Inadequate health literacy may lead to poor medication adherence and diminished quality of life. This study aimed to examine the association between health literacy, medication adherence, and quality of life among hypertensive patients at Polresta Sleman. An observational analytic quantitative design with a cross-sectional approach was employed, involving 80 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using the HLS-ID-SF12, MARS-5, and WHOQOL-BREF instruments. Bivariate analysis was conducted using Pearson correlation, while multivariate analysis applied multiple linear regression. Results revealed that health literacy significantly correlated with medication adherence (r = 0.469; p < 0.05) and quality of life (r = 0.447; p < 0.05). Medication adherence also demonstrated a significant correlation with quality of life (r = 0.615; p < 0.05). Simultaneously, both variables accounted for 41.1% of the variance in quality of life (R² = 0.411; p < 0.05). These findings underscore the importance of jointly improving health literacy and medication adherence as an evidence-based strategy to optimize quality of life in hypertensive patients.

Abstract

Purpose: This study aimed to analyze the level of implementation of Pharmaceutical Service Standards in accordance with the Minister of Health Regulation No. 73 of 2016 in the management of pharmaceutical preparations in pharmacies in Jepara Regency and to identify supporting factors and obstacles in its implementation. Research Method: This study employed a descriptive, quantitative design with an observational, cross-sectional approach. The population consisted of 218 active pharmacies in Jepara Regency, and a minimum sample of 69 pharmacies was selected using purposive sampling. Data were collected through questionnaires, observations, and documentation, focusing on planning, procurement, receiving, storage, control, destruction, and recording and reporting. Data were analyzed univariately using frequencies, percentages, and averages. Results and Discussion: The implementation of pharmaceutical preparation management was generally in accordance with the standard. Most pharmacies showed high compliance across planning, procurement, receiving, storage, destruction, and recording and reporting. However, several aspects still require improvement, particularly the use of disease-pattern data in planning, pharmacist supervision during procurement, consistency of stock card recording, and the completeness of documentation and reporting. Implications: These findings indicate that pharmaceutical service standards have been widely implemented, but ongoing supervision, training, and system strengthening are needed to ensure more consistent and sustainable compliance across all pharmacies.
