Abstract

So in this case the researchers want to reveal the side of I'jaz 'ilmi contained in the kauniyah verse in the story of Yunus AS, according to Zaghlul an-Najjar, al-hut, and yaqthin. Researchers try to find out the side of I'jaz  ilmi with scientific thematic studies and studied through literature research, the methods used are descriptive methods and analysis. Zaghlul proved the existence of I'jaz ilmi in the story of Yunus AS with the proposition that there is a match between his story in the Qur'an and the results of recent modern discoveries, namely by identifying the meaning of al-hut in the story of Yunus as a type of blue whale, and the yaqthin fruit (pumpkin) that has cured him from illness is considered important and useful such as being able to guard against cancer and digestion. And he concluded it all as proof of the truth of the Qur'an and as a miracle of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) and the revelation that came down from Allah SWT.

Abstract

The escalating global ecological crisis necessitates a new approach for a new approach to reconstruct the relationship between humans and nature. One relevant philosophical perspective is deep ecology, which emphasizes the intrinsic equality of all ecological entities and advocates for a radical transformation of the dominant anthropocentric paradigm. Although often associated with Western thought, this concept finds resonance in the discourse of Islamic ecotheology. This research aims to examine the ecological principles in the exegesis of the Qur'an through a comparative analysis of the thoughts of two prominent figures in contemporary Islamic eco-philosophy: Mutawalli al-Sya'rawi and Fazlun Khalid. This study employs a qualitative comparative analysis of the exegetical works of al-Sya'rawi and Fazlun Khalid, focusing on their interpretations of key Qur'anic verses central to ecological ethics, such as the concepts of the Trust (QS Al-Aḥzāb: 72), Balance (QS Al-Raḥmān: 7-9), and the inherent value of creation (QS Al-Anʿām: 38).The findings reveal that al-Sya'rawi developed a metaphysical and spiritual framework. Viewing nature as a divine hierophany (tajalli), while Khalid offers a pragmatic-participatory ecological ethics grounded in maqāṣid syarī'ah and the prophetic sunnah. This research contributes to the enrichment of Islamic ecological epistemology through the complementary synthesis of these two approaches and provides an integrative perspective on the role of Islam as a transformative solution to the global environmental crisis.

Abstract

This article examines the concept of Qaul as a foundational paradigm for message theory within Islamic communication studies. While dominant communication theories commonly conceptualize messages as neutral units of information exchange, the Islamic intellectual tradition understands speech as an ethically accountable act with social and moral consequences. This study aims to elaborate on the multidimensional character of Qaul within Islamic epistemology and to explore its relevance for contemporary communication discourse. Using a conceptual qualitative approach based on library research, the study analyzes classical Islamic sources together with contemporary literature in communication studies. The analysis demonstrates that Qaul cannot be reduced to a merely linguistic act or a vehicle for information transmission; rather, it represents a normative communicative construct that shapes belief formation, ethical orientation, and social cohesion. The findings indicate that Qaul operates simultaneously across cognitive, moral, and relational dimensions, thereby situating communication within a framework of responsibility and accountability. Furthermore, the article highlights the relevance of the Qaul paradigm for contemporary communication practices, particularly within digital environments characterized by information abundance, fragmentation, and ethical ambiguity. By proposing an integrative theoretical framework, this study positions Qaul as a core concept that can enrich existing message theories and contribute to the development of a distinctive philosophy of Islamic communication grounded in Islamic epistemology.

Abstract

The enduring dichotomy between religion and science rooted in historical conflicts during the heyday of Islam and the Western Renaissance has persistently challenged efforts to reconcile the two. In Indonesia, thinkers within State Islamic Higher Education (PTKIN) have proposed the integration-interconnection perspective to bridge this gap. However, after almost two decades, this approach has remained unfamiliar to PTKIN students, including those at Kediri State Institute of Islam. This study aims to assess the reception of PTKIN academics, particularly students from the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah at Kediri State Institute of Islam, towards the integration of Islam and science, from a Quranic perspective. Conducted as a field research, this study employs a mixed-method approach that combines both quantitative and qualitative methods. This methodological choice sought to provide a more comprehensive understanding of the phenomenon under investigation. This study focuses on the academic community of Kediri State Institute of Islam. The findings reveal that the majority of students in the Faculty of Ushuluddin and Da'wah at Kediri State Institute of Islam perceived a limited correlation between Islam and science. Their understanding diverges significantly from the intended goals of Islam and science integration at Kediri State Institute of Islam. The Islam and Science course offered by the faculty has emerged as a valuable platform for academics and da'wah activists to communicate the concept of integrating Islam and science to their students and broader community. Emphasizing the need for innovative learning modules related to Islam and Science, this study suggests that this approach can facilitate a deeper appreciation of the interconnection integration among PTKIN students. Ultimately, these efforts aim to overcome the persistent dichotomy between religion and science.
