Abstract

Abstract

Disturbed mental health among students had a very strong negative impact on physical health, interpersonal communication, and academic ability. Mental health issues in students were caused by pent-up emotions or traumatic events they had experienced. At that time, there was no specific intervention on campus aimed at preventing mental disorders among students. As a result, many emotional problems went unaddressed, increasing the risk of mental disorders among students. The purpose of this study was to improve students' emotional management through emotional regulation training. This study was a quantitative research with a quasi-experimental design using a one-group pre-post-test approach. The respondents of this study were 100 nursing students. The instruments used included an emotional regulation questionnaire and an independent healthy achievement checklist that had been tested for validity and reliability. The data normality test was conducted using the Kolmogorov-Smirnov test, and data analysis was performed using the Wilcoxon test. The results of this study indicated a p value 0.05, demonstrating a significant difference in emotional regulation and emotional management before and after the emotional regulation training was administered. The conclusion of this study was that emotional regulation training was an appropriate intervention to address emotional problems, help improve emotional management skills, and prevent the risk of mental health disorders among students on campus.

Abstract

Students' mental health is a major focus in the education system, given the increasing need for attention to their mental well-being. One of the recognized strategies in strengthening students' mental health is through counseling-related health education. However, research on the impact of health education on students' knowledge of counseling is limited, particularly in the secondary school setting. This study aimed to determine the effect of health education on increasing students' knowledge about health counseling in secondary schools. This study used a quantitative research design with a quasi-experimental approach. The study sample consisted of 41 students at SMKN 36 Jakarta. The sampling technique used purposive sampling. Data were collected through the distribution of an online questionnaire that included questions about students' knowledge of the definition of counseling, counseling techniques, how to conduct counseling, the impact of counseling, and factors that affect counseling. Data analysis used univariate tests and bivariate tests using the t-test. The results of data analysis showed that health education had a significant positive effect on increasing students' knowledge of health counseling. After the health education intervention, there was a significant increase in students' understanding of the basic concepts of counseling and commonly used counseling techniques. Targeted and integrated health education programs can be an effective tool in building students' awareness and knowledge about mental health as a whole. Health education on counseling is an important step in strengthening students' knowledge on mental health.

Abstract

Time management is an important skill for nursing students to face complex challenges in their academic and clinical environments. However, although the importance of time management has been widely recognized, there is not yet an adequate understanding of the dynamics of time management in nursing students, especially in the Indonesian academic environment. This study aims to describe the picture of nursing students' time management and to explore factors that may influence their time management. Descriptive research methods were used using the Self-Regulated in Online Learning Questionnaire (SOL-Q) to collect data from 300 nursing students at Padjadjaran University. Teknik sampling yang digunakan adalah purposive sampling. Data analysis used univariate tests. The research results showed that the majority of nursing students had a high level of time management, namely 201 people (67%). However, some students reported a low level of time management, namely 99 people (33%). Factors that influence time management include a busy curriculum load, the demands of clinical practice, and balance between personal and academic life. Factors influencing time management included a dense curriculum, demands of clinical practice, and the balance between personal and academic life. Interventions tailored to address time management challenges should be developed to support students in optimizing their academic and personal responsibilities. The implication of this research is the importance of developing appropriate interventions to help students who experience difficulties in managing their time.

Objective: This study aims to explore existing bullying prevention interventions and assess their effectiveness through a scoping review. Method: The method used is a scoping review by searching for articles from three main databases, namely Scopus, PubMed, and CINAHL, as well as one search engine, Google Scholar. Keywords used included “bullying prevention,” “adolescents,” “intervention,” “school,” and “community.” Inclusion criteria included studies involving adolescents aged 12–18 years, focused on bullying prevention interventions, and published in English. Data was analyzed descriptively qualitatively. Results: The results show that there are six articles that discuss interventions to prevent bullying in adolescents. The results of this study indicate that education, role play, and group discussions can significantly prevent bullying behavior. This success is due to a comprehensive approach involving all stakeholders and the use of interactive methods that encourage active student participation. Variables that influence intervention effectiveness include social support, student engagement, and consistency of program implementation. Conclusion: The implementation of interventions must be consistent and sustainable, as well as the involvement of all relevant parties, is very important to achieve optimal results.
