Abstract

Aim: This study aims to determine the description of resilience in students at Bandung High School. Method: This study used a descriptive design with purposive sampling technique, involving 100 respondents consisting of students from grades X to XII aged 12 to 19 years. Data were collected using the Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale (CD-RISC), which consists of 25 statements with a score range of 0-100. The results of the validity and reliability tests showed that the instruments used were valid and reliable. Results: The results showed that 30% of respondents had a high level of resilience (30 students), 42% were at a moderate level of resilience (42 students), and 28% had low resilience (28 students). The average resilience score was 60.94, with a score range between 35 and 100. These findings indicate the need for special attention to students with low resilience, who are at risk for psychological problems such as anxiety and depression. Social support, coping skills, and specially designed intervention programs can help improve resilience among students. Conclusion: This study underscores the importance of understanding high school students’ resilience levels to support their mental and academic well-being. More effective support programs for students with low resilience are needed, as well as further research to explore factors that influence resilience.

Abstract

Public speaking ability is essential for healthcare students as educators and health promoters. However, students need more confidence in their ability to deliver education in public. The technique used purposive sampling to select participants who have experienced difficulty or fear in public speaking. Data were analyzed using thematic analysis. Results show that through thematic analysis, it was observed that the participants encountered physical and psychological obstacles. The findings revealed six themes, including physical anxiety, traumatic experiences, lack of technical methods and practice, the importance of personal branding, self-actualization, and the impact of social media. Self-actualization, a deeper understanding of personal branding, and the combination of EFT techniques emerge as effective ways to address the obstacles and hesitations faced by healthcare students before public speaking. This research provides information on overcoming barriers and hesitations in health promotion practices carried out by students in the community.

Abstract

Stigma against People with Mental Disorders (ODGJ) and People with Mental Health Problems (ODMK) remains a major obstacle to psychosocial recovery and community integration. This study examines the role of Griya Schizofren in Surakarta as a community-based social movement in empowering individuals with mental health challenges. A qualitative research method was employed using a case study approach through in-depth interviews, participatory observation, and document analysis. The findings reveal that Griya Schizofren implements routine activities and mentoring programs, such as Fruit Day and Art Day, which create safe spaces for psychosocial recovery while fostering positive identities and egalitarian social relations. In addition, creative economic initiatives through the social entrepreneurship program Solvenesia generate both economic and social impacts beyond therapy, strengthening survivors’ social identity and serving as a form of advocacy for the recognition of the rights of ODMK and ODGJ. The strategy of social media outreach and cross-sector collaboration can broaden the reach of advocacy efforts and enhance public legitimacy. The study concludes that Griya Schizofren functions not merely as a support institution but as a New Social Movement that articulates resistance against stigma and marginalization through community-based practices. These findings highlight the importance of a holistic approach that integrates psychosocial, economic, and sociocultural dimensions within mental health movements, while also enriching theoretical discussions on the dynamics of New Social Movements in Indonesia.
