Abstract

Introduction: Myopia is a type of refractive disorder that has a high prevalence in the world and happens on teenagers. Myopia is caused by bad habits when looking at an object, one of them is the habit when using a gadget. Method: Research design used is observational analytics. The sampling technique used was consecutive sampling and obtained 84 teenagers aged 15-24 years with myopia. The data obtaining used was unsafe action questionnaires of gadgets use and vision inspection sheets. Result: The results showed that the median unsafe action of gadget use is 26.5 with a minimum score is 16 and a maximum is 32. The median of vision value is 0.25 with a minimum value is 0.03 and a maximum is 0.83. Analysis: The results of this research indicate that there is a relationship between unsafe action of gadgets use and visual value on teenagers with myopia (p value = <0.001; r = 0.474). Conclusion: Teenagers pay less attention to position, visibility, duration of use, and lighting when using a gadget. Using a gadget with a sitting position, a minimum visibility is 30 cm and a maximum usage time is 2 hours with a rest of 20 minutes can prevent eye strain. In addition, increasing nutritional needs and exercising can prevent a decrease in visual acuity.

Abstract

Family-centered care (FCC) in intensive care as a family-based care approach has been developed for a long time, but this development in Indonesia is still not optimally created. The FCC needs basic data about the needs of the family who are caring for it, so the need for the family can be identified therefore nursing intervention can be done optimally. One measure that has been developed to assess family needs is Critical Care Family Needs Inventory (CCFNI). The purpose of this study was to analyze the CCFNI questionnaire in Indonesian version. This study tried to test the questionnaire through several steps translation into Indonesian, validity testing in the form of validity content documents (CVI) and construct validity and reliability testing. The results of the CVI test on 45 Indonesian language CCFNI questionnaire statements found that the CVI value was in the range 0.6-0.9 obtained 36 valid statement items, while the results of the construct validity test were found to be valid. Reliability test results obtained an alpha value of 0.97 which means it is very reliable. The conclusion is that the Indonesian version of the CCFNI questionnaire which is translated into Kebutuhan Keluarga Pasien di Ruang Perawatan Intensif (K3PI) is valid and reliable.

Abstract

Analysis of nursing students' attitudes towards caring for the dying patient needs to beexplored. The Frommelt Attitudes Toward Care of the Dying Care Form B (FATCOD-B) has not previously been adopted and used in the Indonesian language. The aim of this study was to determine the reliability, validity and factor analysis of FATCOD-B Indonesian version (FATCOD-B-I). A descriptive and cross-sectional was used. Reliability test was using Cronbach's alpha coefficient, the validity was using the Pearson correlation and confirmatory factor analysis (CFA). Factor analysis of FATCOD-B-I was in accordance with FATCOD-B Swedish version with two factors, the factor 1 (positive attitude toward caring for the dying patient) and factor 2 (perception of patient-and familycentered care). The sample consisted of 127 nursing students in Universitas Jember. Reliability test was 0.680. It was higher than in the FATCOD-B Swedish version and lower than FATCOD Chinese version. Pearson correlation in all items of FATCOD-B-I was valid with a range 0,544 -0.278. Bartlett test value was p = 0.00 and the value of test Kaiser-Meyer-Olkin (KMO) was 0.639. So it could be used CFA. there were the 4 item differences in factor I, it was item of 15, 11, 5, 7 and 14. There were 8 items differences in Factor 2, it was item of 2, 25, 20, 21, 18, 12, 27 and 22 with FATCOD-B Swedish version. The FATCOD-B-I have enough reliability value and all items of FATCOD B-I have valid statement. The results of the confirmatory factor analysis CFA was a difference with FATCOD Swedish version. For further research, it needed for psychometric test in FATCOD-B-I widely and it was including more diverse cultural aspects in Indonesia.

Abstract

Stroke could cause disability and death for sufferers. Stroke patients with family assistance have to maintain daily activities. Family of stroke patients who gives long-term care have experience problems especially depression. The purpose of this study was to analyze the relationship between demographic characteristics and depression of family with stroke patient using cross sectional aprroach. The sampling technique was consecutive sampling with a total sample of 65 respondents determined using G*Power. The measuring instruments used demographic characteristic questionnaire and Beck Depression Inventory II (BDI II). This study found the prevalence of depression in families of stroke patients were 24 (36.9%) depressed and 41 (63.1%) not depressed. Moreover, there were no relation between characteristics (gender, age, education status, employment status, relationship with patients, stroke attack, duration of care) and depression in family with stroke patients (p>0.05). Depression could occur because of internal and external factors in a person depending on each person’s problem solving ability. Further research, should be conducted to examine the intervention of nursing that are appropriate for preventing the occurrence of depression in family of stroke patients.

Abstract

Increasing the number of cancer patients need exploration of the impact of cancer and chemotherapy. Care dependency is one impact of chemotherapy treatment and can affect the quality of life. Therefore, the prevalence and factor associated with care dependency of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy need to be explored. This study aimed to determine the prevalence of care dependency and correlation among depression, hemoglobin level, pain, and fatigue to care dependency of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Cross-sectional study was performed. 388 cancer patient undergoing chemotherapy in Baladhika Husada Hospital Jember, Indonesia was recruited using a consecutive sampling technique. Multivariate logistic regression was used to determine the association..The age of the samples was 51.49 (± 9.71) years old. This study found 29.9% of people have care-dependent conditions. After multivariate analysis, hemoglobin, pain, fatigue, and depression were statistically significant with care dependency. Conclusion: Fatigue has the most significant influence on care dependency of cancer patients undergoing chemotherapy. Further research needs to be analyzed care dependency in cancer patients using multi-center chemotherapy service. Also, the development of nursing interventions to reduce care-dependent conditions needs to be conducted.

Abstract

During the COVID-19 pandemic, caregivers and parents play a crucial role in supporting individuals with intellectual disabilities, necessitating adjustments in self-care and the acquisition of essential caregiving skills. Research efforts are focused on developing effective health promotion programs and understanding the pandemic's impacts on individuals with intellectual disabilities, highlighting the importance of systematic literature reviews in synthesizing knowledge for effective caregiving during this crisis. This research aimed to systematically review literature related to stimulating development for health promotion in children with intellectual disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis. A systematic literature review searched keywords related to variables and sample groups. Data sources were electronic databases, including Scopus, ScienceDirect, Web of Science, and PubMed. The research included studies on the care and health support of individuals with intellectual disabilities over the past 10 years, from September 1, 2021, to January 1, 2022. Among these studies, 8 were selected, focusing on stimulating development and health support for children with intellectual disabilities. The systematic review yielded four programs: 1) Health education in classrooms to promote the health of individuals with intellectual disabilities, 2) Health record registration and health check-ups to promote health, 3) Training with equipment, and 4) Weight reduction and body mass index improvement programs to promote health among individuals with intellectual disabilities. The literature review revealed an increase in knowledge about programs for stimulating development and promoting health in children with intellectual disabilities during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis.
