Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the influence of learning climate and learning styles on students' creativity in Islamic Education. Employing a quantitative approach with a correlational design, the research involved 42 respondents selected through purposive sampling. Data were collected using questionnaires to measure learning climate, learning styles, and student creativity, and subsequently analyzed using multiple linear regression. The findings indicate a significant positive influence of both learning climate and learning styles on students' creativity. Specifically, the regression analysis yielded coefficients of 0.240 for learning climate and 0.269 for learning styles, confirming that both variables contribute significantly to the outcome. The Adjusted R Square value of 0.148 reveals that learning climate and learning styles explain 14.8% of the variance in student creativity, while the remaining 85.2% is attributed to other factors outside the scope of this study. These results suggest that optimizing the classroom environment and accommodating diverse learning preferences are essential, though not exclusive, strategies for fostering creativity.

Abstract

This study examines the process of contextualizing al-Sunnah al-Nabawiyah within the Nater Hajjiyân tradition among the people of Bangkalan, Madura. The tradition is not merely understood as a religious ritual but also as a social mechanism that embodies prophetic values in daily life. Employing a descriptive qualitative approach through the methods of living hadith and religious ethnography, this research explores how the values of the Prophet’s Sunnah such as kinship, generosity, trustworthiness, and prayers for safety are internalized within the community’s social practices. The findings reveal that Nater Hajjiyân serves as both a social and religious space that strengthens social cohesion, constructs participatory religious authority, and provides a concrete medium for the actualization of prophetic teachings within local culture. The figures of kyai (religious leaders) and blater (social influencers) play pivotal roles in maintaining the balance between spiritual and social authority, affirming that religious legitimacy is formed through social practice rather than normative texts alone. The tradition has also undergone transformation in the digital era, where its rituals and spiritual values are documented and disseminated through social media as expressions of collective religious identity. This study concludes that the Nater Hajjiyân tradition represents a dynamic form of living Sunnah, demonstrating that the Prophet’s teachings continuously adapt to the socio-cultural context of society. Hence, the contextualization of Sunnah is not merely an act of interpretation but also a process of actualizing prophetic values in modern social life.

Abstract

In the current era of information disruption and pluralistic discourse, santri (Islamic students) desperately need discursive reasoning skills and critical awareness to interact argumentatively in the public sphere. Critical pedagogy-based teaching, which prioritizes dialogue, clarification, and intellectual courage, is seen as an effective strategy for transforming traditional learning into a more participatory one. While research on ta’dzim has tended to focus on symbolic obedience, this article evaluates the shift in meaning from epistemic respect to passive obedience, which hinders students' logic. The impact of this rigid hierarchical culture is evaluated on the reduction of critical reasoning skills and the development of students' cognitive dimensions and reflective awareness (conscientization). This research aims to deconstruct ta’dzim culture by integrating Sayyidah Aisyah's (r.a.) critical pedagogical model into the Islamic boarding school education system. Using a qualitative approach with a literature review method and Critical Discourse Analysis (CDA) techniques, this study analyzes power relations in religious pedagogical texts through data reduction and categorization. The findings indicate that Sayyidah Aisyah's pedagogy has a positive impact in the form of active-discursive ta'dzim (religious understanding), where tashīḥ (clarification) and dialectical dialogue serve as scaffolding to enhance the intellectual agency of students. The findings conclude that the authority of the kiai (Islamic cleric) is not diminished by criticism; rather, the revitalization of knowledge through discussion strengthens the students' morals and epistemic responsibility. Consequently, this reconstruction enables Islamic boarding schools (pesantren) to become progressive learning spaces without abandoning their traditional roots.
