Abstract

This study aims to determine the effect of the Teams Games Tournament (TGT) cooperative learning model assisted by the Spinning Wheel media on the understanding of science concepts in fourth-grade elementary school students. This study uses a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design. Data collection uses a concept understanding test. The sample used in this study were fourth-grade elementary school students. The results showed that the average initial concept understanding test score of the experimental class was 47.75, higher than the average initial concept understanding test score of the control class (47.32). After treatment, the average final concept understanding test score of the experimental class was 90.00, higher than the average final concept understanding test score of the control class (85.00). Researchers used an Independent Samples T-Test to determine the effect of the learning model. The results of the Independent Samples T-Test showed a significance value of 0.003 <0.05, and the results of the effect size test obtained a value of 0.828, which is considered large. Based on the research results, it can be concluded that: 1) the process of implementing the Team Game Tournament (TGT) model assisted by the spinning wheel media is very effective and can make learning more meaningful; 2) there is a significant difference with a large influence between the experimental class and the control class on students' understanding of science concepts; and 3) the use of the cooperative Team Game Tournament (TGT) model assisted by the spinning wheel media has a significant and large influence on the understanding of science concepts of fourth grade elementary school students.

Abstract

The decline of students' nationalism due to globalization and rapid technological development has become a challenge in Pancasila Education. One effort to address this issue is through the Habit of Mind of singing the Indonesian national anthem, Indonesia Raya, before the learning process begins. This study aims to analyze the role of Pancasila Education through the Habit of Mind of singing Indonesia Raya in improving the nationalism of eighth-grade students at SMP Pasundan 3 Bandung. This research employed a qualitative approach using a case study method. Data were collected through observation, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed using data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The findings indicate that the habituation of singing Indonesia Raya contributes to improving students' discipline, patriotism, respect for national symbols, responsibility, and pride as Indonesian citizens. Although challenges remain, including students' low awareness and environmental influences, teachers address them through role modeling, habituation, and continuous motivation. Therefore, Pancasila Education through the Habit of Mind of singing Indonesia Raya contributes to strengthening students' nationalism.

Abstract

This study is motivated by the decline in students' sense of nationalism as a consequence of globalization, which has weakened appreciation for local culture, including Indonesian culinary heritage. This study aims to describe the internalization of nationalism values through the introduction of Indonesian culinary heritage in Culinary Arts learning, to identify the obstacles encountered, and to explain the efforts made to overcome them. A qualitative approach with a descriptive method was employed. The participants consisted of a Civics Education teacher, Culinary Arts teachers, the Head of the Culinary Arts Department, and eleventh-grade students at SMK Bina Wisata Lembang. Data were collected through interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings indicate that learning about Indonesian culinary heritage fosters students' pride, love for their homeland, and awareness of preserving national culture through both theoretical and practical activities. The main obstacles include students' limited prior knowledge of local cuisine and the stronger appeal of foreign culinary trends on social media. Teachers addressed these challenges through innovative media, cooking practice, project-based learning, and by integrating Pancasila values into every learning activity. Therefore, culinary learning grounded in local wisdom serves as an effective medium for internalizing nationalism values among vocational high school students.
