Abstract

This study aims to describe youtube video as an effective medium to improve English speaking skills and to gather some information related to the use of YouTube videos in teaching and learning English. The approach used in this research was systematic analysis. This research used 10 sources that consisted 4 theses and 6 articles. Technique of data analysis used in this study was DescriptiveResearch.The data in this study are sentences. All sentences have been selected by researchers from several relevant journals and theses. Data collection is carried out by researchers by searching several journals or theses that have similarities in reading texts or research media. Data analysis using pre-test and post-test that has been investigated by researchers. The result of this study is using YouTube videos as an alternate since It can be seen from differences in the pre-test post-test results of students taken from various sources by using Youtube video. In reality, Youtube video media can not only be adapted to children but can also be extended to all level of educationas well as allowing students to quickly practice their own speaking skills.

Abstract

The workshop was initiated in response to challenges faced by elementary school teachers in remote and underdeveloped regions, who often struggle with selecting appropriate teaching media. Additionally, elementary students in these areas tend to spend excessive time on gadgets without using them for learning purposes. This study aims to educate teachers on creating science posters using Canva, thus fostering character development and promoting the wise use of technology for learning. The project-based workshop included several stages: a Forum Group Discussion (FGD) to align the teachers' understanding, project-based learning planning, poster creation using Canva, and ongoing monitoring and evaluation. The program successfully enhanced the digital literacy and design skills of teachers to create poster integrated with character. The Canva design workshop was held virtually via Zoom, focusing on open media, learning posters, module covers, and learning videos. This activity was attended by teachers from various regions. The program lasted for two sessions (theory and practice of making products). The program has succeeded in helping teachers improve their creative design skills amidst limited access to technology in remote and outermost areas. The teachers managed to operate Canva well, showing high enthusiasm in improving their design skills. The evaluation showed high participant satisfaction, with 57% satisfied and 43% very satisfied. This workshop has succeeded in encouraging teachers to be more creative and innovative in the technology-based learning process.Abstrak. Lokakarya ini digagas sebagai respons terhadap tantangan yang dihadapi oleh guru-guru SD di daerah terpencil dan terbelakang, yang sering kali kesulitan dalam memilih media pembelajaran yang tepat. Selain itu, siswa SD di daerah tersebut cenderung menghabiskan waktu yang berlebihan pada gadget tanpa menggunakannya untuk tujuan pembelajaran. Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk mendidik guru-guru dalam membuat poster sains menggunakan Canva, sehingga menumbuhkan karakter dan mempromosikan penggunaan teknologi yang bijaksana untuk pembelajaran. Lokakarya berbasis proyek ini mencakup beberapa tahap: Diskusi Kelompok Forum (FGD) untuk menyelaraskan pemahaman guru, perencanaan pembelajaran berbasis proyek, pembuatan poster menggunakan Canva, dan pemantauan dan evaluasi berkelanjutan. Program ini berhasil meningkatkan literasi digital dan keterampilan desain guru untuk membuat poster yang terintegrasi dengan karakter. Lokakarya desain Canva diadakan secara virtual melalui Zoom, dengan fokus pada media terbuka, poster pembelajaran, sampul modul, dan video pembelajaran. Kegiatan ini diikuti oleh guru-guru dari berbagai daerah. Program berlangsung selama dua sesi (teori dan praktik membuat produk). Program ini telah berhasil membantu guru meningkatkan keterampilan desain kreatif mereka di tengah keterbatasan akses teknologi di daerah terpencil dan terluar. Para guru berhasil mengoperasikan Canva dengan baik, menunjukkan antusiasme yang tinggi dalam meningkatkan keterampilan desain mereka. Hasil evaluasi menunjukkan kepuasan peserta yang tinggi, dengan persentase 57% puas dan 43% sangat puas. Workshop ini berhasil mendorong guru untuk lebih kreatif dan inovatif dalam proses pembelajaran berbasis teknologi.

Abstract

ABSTRACTWriting skills require continuous and intensive training until beautiful writing and aesthetic value are produced. Writing skills must be developed in the world of education because they can train students to think critically. Creative writing training for Guidance Studio Students at Pondok An-Nahdloh Selangor, Malaysia aims to (1) familiarize students with literacy culture, (2) teach students to have literacy skills, especially creative writing skills, especially poetry in Indonesian, (3) motivate students to write creatively in everyday life, (4) assist teachers in teaching literacy skills. The partner for this community service activity is Pondok An-Nahdloh Selangor, Malaysia. The method of this activity is training and mentoring partners with stages of socialization, lectures on poetry writing methods, poetry writing practice, and mentoring poetry improvements. The results of this service can be concluded that this training and mentoring activity was very successful and was able to improve the creative writing skills of the training participants.Keywords: Training, creative writing, guidance studio students, pondok An-NahdlohABSTRAKKeterampilan    menulis memerlukan pelatihan  terus-menerus dan intensif sampai dihasilkan tulisan yang indah dan memiliki nilai estetika. Pelatihan menulisan kreatif bagi Siswa Sanggar Bimbingan di Pondok An-Nahdloh Selangor, Malaysi bertujuan untuk (1) mengakrabkan peserta didik dengan budaya literasi, (2) membelajarkan peserta didik agar memiliki keterampilan literasi khususnya keterampilan menulis kreatif khususnya puisi dalam bahasa Indonesia, (3) memotivasi peserta didik   untuk menulis kreatif dalam kehidupan sehari-hari, (4) membantu tugas para guru dalam membelajarkan keterampilan literasi. Mitra kegiatan pengabdian masyarakat ini adalah Pondok An-Nahdloh Selangor, Malaysia. Metode kegiatan ini yaitu pelatihan dan pendampingan mitra dengan tahapan sosialisasi, ceramah tentang metode penulisan puisi, praktik menulis puisi, dan pendampingan perbaikan puisi. Hasil pengabdian ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa kegiatan pelatihan dan pendampingan ini sangatlah berhasil dan mampu meningkatkan kemampuan menulis kreatif para peserta pelatihan.Kata Kunci: Pelatihan, menulis kreatif, siswa sanggar bimbingan, pondok An-Nahdloh

Abstract

Penguasaan bahasa Inggris dan literasi digital menjadi keterampilan penting di era digital, namun banyak masyarakat lokal yang belum memanfaatkan teknologi secara optimal. Kegiatan pengabdian ini dilaksanakan di Kecamatan Paciran, Lamongan, untuk meningkatkan kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris dan literasi digital melalui Instagram. Metode yang digunakan meliputi identifikasi kebutuhan, perencanaan program, pelatihan intensif dua minggu, dan pendampingan daring melalui WhatsApp. Hasil kegiatan menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam kemampuan berbicara bahasa Inggris dan penggunaan Instagram untuk pembelajaran. Peserta aktif membuat konten bahasa Inggris dan memanfaatkan fitur interaktif Instagram untuk meningkatkan keterlibatan. Kegiatan ini membuktikan bahwa pelatihan berbasis praktik dan pendampingan dapat memperkuat keterampilan digital dan bahasa Inggris masyarakat dalam menghadapi tantangan global.

Abstract

Kemampuan berbahasa Inggris merupakan salah satu keterampilan esensial yang perlu dimiliki sejak usia dini. Namun, keterbatasan akses terhadap pendidikan tambahan menjadikan banyak anak belum memperoleh pembelajaran bahasa Inggris yang memadai di rumah. Pengabdian kepada masyarakat ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kapasitas ibu rumah tangga di lingkungan PKK RW 009 Desa Pepelegi, Waru, Sidoarjo, dalam membimbing anak-anak mereka belajar bahasa Inggris melalui pelatihan singkat (short course). Program ini dirancang berbasis pendekatan partisipatif dan kontekstual, dengan materi ajar yang sederhana dan mudah diterapkan dalam aktivitas rumah tangga sehari-hari. Hasil yang diharapkan dari kegiatan ini meliputi peningkatan keterampilan mengajar ibu rumah tangga, terbentuknya model pembelajaran berbasis keluarga, serta publikasi ilmiah sebagai luaran program. Kegiatan ini juga diharapkan dapat direplikasi di komunitas lain sebagai bentuk keberlanjutan pengabdian berbasis pemberdayaan keluarga.

Abstract

Penelitian ini bertujuan untuk menganalisis fokus-fokus penelitian terkait penerapan model PjBL pada jenjang PAUD, SD, dan SMP. Studi ini menggunakan teknik telaah literatur sistematis terhadap sejumlah artikel dan hasil penelitian yang relevan. Instrumen yang digunakan berupa pedoman analisis dokumen, sedangkan subjek kajian mencakup berbagai publikasi ilmiah yang membahas penerapan PjBL di ketiga jenjang tersebut. Data dianalisis menggunakan teknik kategorisasi tematik dan komparatif. Hasil menunjukkan bahwa fokus penerapan PjBL berbeda di setiap jenjang: PAUD lebih menekankan pada pengembangan motivasi belajar dan keterampilan berpikir kritis awal; SD pada peningkatan literasi dan hubungan sosial; serta SMP pada kemampuan pemecahan masalah dan berpikir tingkat tinggi. Temuan ini menegaskan pentingnya penerapan PjBL yang disesuaikan dengan karakteristik dan kebutuhan perkembangan peserta didik di masing-masing jenjang. Implikasi dari hasil ini menunjukkan perlunya strategi implementasi PjBL yang adaptif mulai dari pendekatan eksploratif dan motivasional di PAUD, pendekatan tematik integratif di SD, hingga pembelajaran reflektif dan menantang di SMP.

Abstract

Abstract. The community service program conducted at SDN Kalirungkut 1 Surabaya aimed to improve teachers' competence in designing differentiated and project-based P-5 learning that integrates the Rahmatan lil Alamin character. The program was implemented through a five-day training and mentoring session, focusing on developing teaching modules tailored to students' needs and characteristics, as well as instilling values such as kindness, tolerance, and empathy. The results of the training demonstrated a significant improvement in teachers' understanding and skills in designing more inclusive and character-based learning. The sustainability of the program is ensured through ongoing mentoring and strengthened collaboration among teachers. Abstrak. Pengabdian masyarakat yang dilaksanakan di SDN Kalirungkut 1 Surabaya bertujuan untuk meningkatkan kompetensi guru dalam merancang pembelajaran berdiferensiasi dan berbasis proyek P-5 yang mengintegrasikan karakter Rahmatan lil Alamin. Program ini dilaksanakan melalui pelatihan dan pendampingan selama lima hari, dengan fokus pada pengembangan modul ajar yang sesuai dengan kebutuhan dan karakteristik siswa, serta penanaman nilai karakter seperti kasih sayang, toleransi, dan empati. Hasil dari pelatihan ini menunjukkan peningkatan signifikan dalam pemahaman dan keterampilan guru dalam merancang pembelajaran yang lebih inklusif dan berkarakter. Keberlanjutan program dijamin melalui pendampingan berkelanjutan dan penguatan kolaborasi antar guru.

Abstract

Choosing the right English learning method for early childhood is very important. At an early age, children's development is in a concrete phase. Therefore, the learning process applied to early childhood education must be based on something real or tangible in accordance with the learning objectives, which is to convey basic concepts that have meaning through real experiences, in order to enhance the creativity, memory, and curiosity of the child. The Community Service Program (PKM) involves a series of structured stages. First, observation and survey of the location where the PKM activities will be carried out to ensure all necessary preparations. As a plan to fully implement this activity, it will be divided into two parts. First, a final evaluation will be conducted on the training that has taken place. The final step is to prepare a final report summarizing the entire program journey, including objectives, methods, findings, and recommendations for the future.

Abstract

This study concerns on a phonological analysis on Madurese English teacher?s pronunciation in reading an English text. The writer identified kinds of oscillographic pronunciation made by Madurese English teachers in reading an English text, the differences of oscillographic pronunciation between Madurese English teachers and that of the English native speaker in reading an English text and how Madurese language characteristics influences Madurese English teachers? pronunciation. In the process of data collection, she used descriptive qualitative. She observed and recorded the Madurese English teachers?pronunciation by using MP4 then analysed it by using Praat program version 4027. Then, she found that in reading the English text entitled „insomnia?, the oscillographic pronunciation of Subject 2 and Subject 3 when it is compared to subject 1 is different and makes different meaning, but for some words, it is slightly different but it does not make different meaning. Furthermore, it is found that Madurese language characteristics influence Subject 2 and Subject 3 in reading the English text. Therefore, in reading it, they made some sound changes: vowel, consonant and diphthong. The sound changes are: 1). the vowel changes: ???????;???, ???????;???, ???????, ???????;???;???, ???????;???;???, ???????, 2). the consonant changes: ???????, ????????, ???????, ???????, 3). the diphthong changes: ????????;???, ????????;???;???, ????????, ????????, ????????;???. In reading it, it is found that subject 2 and subject 3 also made deletion and addition. It is, thus, concluded that the pronunciation of subject 2 and subject 3 are unintelligible because they often mispronounce which can make their students do not understand their saying.

Abstract

Google classroom (GC) is one of the best platforms produced by Google that has some purposes for education, especially in teaching and learning process. In S1 Nutrition department, the application of Google Classroom is still rarely used and still few lecturers of Nahdlatul Ulama University of Surabaya use this application maximally for teaching any courses, including in teaching English. This research aims to find out the students’ responses of using GC in English Class of nutrition profession. This paper also presents GC features and the benefits of using it. The participants have had some experiences in using it. The participants are 37 students from three classes chosen through random sampling. The data was collected through questionnaire survey from the students’ responses. The data then was analyzed qualitatively. The results presented that from statement 1-10, only statement 1 (GC can accommodate e-learning) and statement 9 (GC is easy to use) which have reached 64,9% (Agree). The lowest percentage was 45,9% (GC is as a character building). They agreed that GC has many benefits and the priorities of benefit to accommodate e-learning and easy to use. However, it still needs to be explored further of the directly impact to the students for building their character.
