Abstract

This study aims to examine the effectiveness of the FitClass mobile application in improving physical activity and learning motivation among senior high school students in Physical Education. The study is motivated by the low levels of student participation in conventional PE learning and the need for technology-based innovations to enhance engagement and outcomes. A quasi-experimental method was employed using a pretest-posttest design involving both experimental and control groups. The research involved 60 Grade XI students from a senior high school, randomly assigned into two groups. The experimental group used the FitClass mobile application over a six-week period, while the control group followed conventional learning methods. Data were collected using physical activity observation sheets and a learning motivation questionnaire. The results indicated a significant increase in both physical activity (p < 0.05) and learning motivation (p < 0.05) in the experimental group compared to the control group. These findings suggest that the FitClassmobile application is effective in enhancing physical activity and learning motivation in high school Physical Education.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the impact of the use of wearable technology, specifically smartwatches, in improving collaborative learning in Physical Education subjects. Smartwatches function as a direct physical activity monitoring tool, including indicators such as heart rate, number of steps, and duration of activity. This study used a quantitative method with a quasi-experimental design involving 60 high school students, who were divided into an experimental group and a control group. The experimental group used smartwatches during Physical Education learning activities, while the control group followed the learning without the support of such technology. The results obtained showed that the use of smartwatches had a positive impact on increasing social interaction and cooperation among students. This device encouraged active engagement, provided instant feedback, and increased students' awareness of their physical performance, which then became the subject of discussion in group work. In conclusion, the application of smartwatches in the context of Physical Education learning has the potential to strengthen collaboration between students and increase their participation in the learning process.

Abstract

Perkembangan teknologi digital menghadirkan tantangan dalam meningkatkan literasi pendidikan, khususnya di kalangan mahasiswa. Program Studi Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi Universitas Negeri Makassar menghadapi kebutuhan untuk meningkatkan pemahaman mahasiswa mengenai konsep dasar pendidikan yang relevan dengan bidang mereka. Tujuan dari pengabdian ini adalah untuk memperkenalkan buku Pengantar Pendidikan berbasis digital sebagai alat bantu pembelajaran. Metode rancangan kegiatan, cara pemilihan khalayak sasaran, bahan dan alat yang digunakan, desain alat beserta kinerja dan produktivitasnya, teknik pengumpulan data, dan teknik analisis data kuantitatif dan kualitatif. Hasil dari program menunjukkan 75% mahasiswa aktif berpartisipasi dalam diskusi kelas, sementara 25% mahasiswa lainnya menunjukkan tingkat partisipasi yang lebih rendah atau pasif. Walaupun terdapat beberapa tantangan dalam penggunaan teknologi, program ini berhasil meningkatkan keterampilan literasi digital mahasiswa. Temuan ini mengindikasikan perlunya dukungan teknis dan pelatihan lebih lanjut untuk memaksimalkan pemanfaatan teknologi dalam pendidikan dan membangun budaya literasi digital berkelanjutan. Secara keseluruhan, pengabdian ini berkontribusi positif terhadap kualitas pendidikan di Prodi Pendidikan Jasmani, Kesehatan, dan Rekreasi, serta membuka peluang untuk pengembangan pembelajaran digital yang lebih efektif di masa depan.

Abstract

This research was motivated by the lack of creative thinking of students in informatics subjects. One of the factors that influences creative thinking is the lack of use of learning models. This research aims to determine the application of the Project Based Learning learning model. There is an increase in students' creative thinking abilities in class x informatics subjects at SMA N 2 Gorontalo. This research uses a quasi-experimental research method with a nonequivalent control group design, pretest posttest and observation. The samples for this research are class X-1 with a total of 31 students as the experimental class and class X-2 with a total of 31 students as the control class. The posttest in the experimental class had an average score of 80.16 and the average posttest score in the control class was 72.74, then the hypothesis test showed a significant 2 tailed value of 0.01<0.05. The observation results show that the aspect of students' creative thinking abilities, namely elaboration, reached 84% and an N-gain of 0.3960 was obtained in the medium category because students were able to complete projects according to schedule, so it can be concluded that there is an increase in creative thinking abilities by using the Project Based Learning model.Kata kunci: Model Project Based Learning, berpikir kreatif
