Abstract

Adaptations were necessary as a result of the new family structure, which saw the mother taking on the role of primary breadwinner in addition to her other responsibilities. This was especially the case in order to ensure that the family continued to be financially successful. Maintaining and even improving the family economy is possible thanks to the ability of women to make use of economic resources by utilizing their social capital stock in the form of social networks that exist within the social environment. As a result, the purpose of this study is to investigate the function that women's capital plays in enhancing the economic standing of low-income families. In this investigation, a qualitative strategy is combined with a descriptive research approach. The findings demonstrated that women were able to raise the economic status of low-income families by utilizing their social capital stock in the form of social networks in the social environment. This was accomplished through the application of the concept of economic assistance to empower women through the operation of small and micro businesses. It will be easier to gain access to financial resources if one makes use of social networks and maintains positive relations with kin, among other social connections.

Abstract

The Belt and Road Initiative (BRI) reflects Cina's grand ambition to strengthen its economic and geopolitical influence in the strategic Southeast Asian region including Indonesia through investment in transnational infrastructure. Cina sees Indonesia as a vital nation within the worldwide oceanic course due to the country's position that interfaces the Indian Sea and the Pacific Sea through the Strait of Malacca. This investigate employments a expressive subjective approach through different auxiliary sources such as official government reports, research reports, academic articles, sources and news media. The research aims to analyze the various factors behind Cina's motivation in launching BRI in the Southeast Asian region, especially in Indonesia. The knife in this research is the concept of national interest from Donald E. Nuchterlein to analyze more deeply the national interests underlying Cina's implementation of BRI in Indonesia. This study found that Cina's implementation of BRI in the Southeast Asian Region including Indonesia is to reduce dependence on foreign investment, utilize excess production capacity, secure energy supplies, maintain national defense stability, especially in maritime areas such as the South Cina Sea, and create a positive image in the eyes of the world by embracing BRI cooperation partner countries by emphasizing economic, cultural and non-intervention aspects.

Abstract

This study analyzes Indonesia's strategic deployment of the 2022 MotoGP Mandalika as an integrated sports-cultural diplomatic tool and examines its effectiveness in promoting tourism recovery and strengthening international relations in the postpandemic era. A qualitative research approach was employed, incorporating semistructured interviews with key stakeholders. Data triangulation was performed via primary interview data and secondary sources from August 2023-January 2025, and the impacts of the event were analyzed through the theoretical frameworks of soft power, sports diplomacy, and cultural diplomacy. The analysis revealed that the MotoGP Mandalika event successfully contributed to a 1.46% increase in regional GDP and generated an additional 4.5 trillion Indonesian rupiah in economic value. The integration of local cultural elements, including the participation of 300 SME groups and traditional performance, enhanced the event's diplomatic impact. The study identified effective multistakeholder collaboration among government agencies, international organizations, and local communities as a crucial success factor. The findings demonstrate that integrating sports and cultural diplomacy through international sporting events can effectively serve multiple national interests, from economic recovery to diplomatic relationship enhancement to national security. The successful implementation of MotoGP Mandalika provides a model for developing nations seeking to leverage sporting events for diplomatic purposes while promoting sustainable tourism development in the postpandemic era.

Abstract

This study is the result of research on the implementation of radicalism prevention policies through the independent curriculum P5 project in elementary level education schools in Garut Regency. This research is also motivated by the author's interest in radicalism prevention policies, especially among young people. The Garut Regency Government has issued Garut Regent Regulation Number 143 of 2023 concerning the Regional Action Plan for Preventing and Combating Violent Extremism that Leads to Terrorism, one of which aims to prevent radicalism in the school environment due to concerns about the spread of radicalism among young people. This research uses a qualitative research method with a descriptive approach. Data were obtained through literature study and field study (observation and interview). The data validity technique used was the triangulation of sources and methods. The results of this study indicate that there are several challenges faced by policy actors in policy implementation such as limited human resources, the influence of the environment and local culture, the wide area of distribution of primary level education schools and low parental participation.

Abstract

The emergence of demographic issues makes research related to the behavior of beginner voters very interesting to do, some studies have managed to find a tendency for beginner voter behavior, and several other studies have also succeeded in finding trends in voting behavior against ethnic identity. Therefore researchers are interested in discussing and describing the tendency of voter behavior in certain age categories which are also clashed with ethnicity factors. Chinese ethnicity is an ethnic minority that has a long history on the Indonesian political stage, and the city of Palembang is one of the cities in Indonesia that has left a lot of evidence of the history of Chinese civilization, even from the time of the Srivijaya Empire. This study aims to determine the behavioral trends of choosing Chinese Ethnic Youth in the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Palembang in 2018. The method used in this study is a quantitative method with a survey design. The unit of analysis of this study was ethnic Chinese youth who were members of the Indonesian Chinese Youth Association (IPTI) in Palembang City. This study uses a voter behavior approach with an analysis of three models, namely sociological, psychological and rational choices. Based on the results of the research in the field it can be concluded that the behavior of choosing Chinese Ethnic Youth in the Mayor and Deputy Mayor of Palembang in 2018 has a tendency towards psychological and rational voting behavior. Psychologically, the behavior of choosing ethnic Chinese youth tends to be influenced by indicators of the influence of campaigns and figures of candidates, while rationally tends to be influenced by the leadership performance indicators of candidates in the previous period. Abstract

Abstract: Recruitment of regional head candidates is part of the political process within the internal party facing the General Election. Candidate selection is a "secret garden" for each party, besides the easy selection process by other powers outside political parties. This study answers the research question "What is the method of selection in the political recruitment of regional head candidates by the National Mandate Party in the General Election in Tasikmalaya City 2017". This study attempts to review, analyze candidate selection. The theory used is the theory of candidate selection from Rahat (2001). The results of this study indicate that the election in PAN is determined by party elites. Selection is also superior by the strength of "local strongmen" and large financials. The process of selecting candidates in the PAN shows a degree of semi-democracy. The selection of PAN internal cadres is not a qualified cadre who is not qualified, but the selection process of candidates approved by local strongmen, and great financial strength. Keywords: Political Parties, Political Recruitment, Candidate Selection, Elections. Abstrak: Rekrutmen calon kepala daerah merupakan bagian dari proses politik di internal partai dalam menghadapai Pemilukada. Abstract

Being brought in as a tool to empower socio-cultural integration between Southeast Asian countries, the ASEAN Tourism Strategy Plan (ATSP) has become a standard norm among Southeast Asian countries to achieve sustainable tourism practices.  Discussing local tourism policy prospects for regional integration is central to understanding whether compliance with ATSP standards, which is notably regarded as a non-sensitive issue in the ASEAN socio-cultural pillar, is applicable at the regional level, and beneficial for the local authorities. Despite that ASEAN countries have strongly relied on the tourism economy, scholars have yet to understand whether member states are ready to comply with ATSP. This research aimed to thoroughly evaluate sustainable tourism development in one destination site in Indonesia, using the case study of Saba Budaya Baduy of Banten Province. By reviewing policy measures, aspirations and interests of diverse actors in Banten, the research argued that adherence to ATSP is constrained by the dilemma between promoting economic development and preserving the cultural heritage of the Baduy Indigenous people. The research applied a qualitative method with a case study approach, which involves in-depth interviews, field observations, and analysis of policy documents. It also suggests that to ensure the readiness to comply with ATSP, the Indonesian authority needs more participatory policies.

Abstract

In analyzing confrontation, academic studies in the field of International Relation are highly associated with conventional narrative approaches. Unfortunately, exclusive and excessive use of an approach in the field may hinder the academic development in the field. Earlier studies show that cross-fertilization internal and external approaches can promote scientific progress in the field. This study aims to promote the use of confrontation analysis, an analysis tool that is considered as external to the field of international relations. There are some studies in the field of international relations that utilize confrontation analysis in conflict modelling. Nonetheless, these studies are limited only to the cases of western hemisphere. This study focuses on the implementation of confrontation analysis in the conflict in East Asia region, i.e. Chinese civil war and Korean war. These cases are selected due to the abundant available information on these conflicts and the knowledge on these conflicts has matured. This study shows that confrontation analysis is able to explain the increase of escalation and its downturn during the conflict.
