Abstract

Financial anxiety is common among university students and undermines academic and daily functioning. This study tested whether attitude toward money predicts financial self‑efficacy (FSE) and financial anxiety, whether FSE mediates that association, and whether the structural paths differ by gender. We used a cross‑sectional correlational design with 350 Indonesian university students selected via stratified random sampling. Attitude toward money was measured with the Money Attitude Scale, FSE with an adapted scale, and financial anxiety with the Financial Anxiety Scale. Hypotheses were examined using PLS‑SEM with 5,000 bootstraps and multi‑group analysis. Attitude toward money positively predicted FSE (β = 0.42, p .001), and FSE positively predicted financial anxiety (β = 0.18, p .001). The indirect effect of attitude toward money on financial anxiety via FSE was significant but small (β = 0.08, p = .01). No significant gender differences were detected. These results suggest that competence‑oriented financial education should be paired with stress‑management and risk‑appraisal components. For higher‑education policy and practice, campuses should integrate financial counseling with mental‑health services, deploy early‑warning systems for financial stress, and provide targeted supports such as emergency micro‑grants, peer money mentors, and flexible payment plans.

Abstract

This research is motivated by the lack of students' numeracy skills in learning multiplication. The study aims to describe the effect of using multiplication board media on students' numeracy skills at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu Malaysia. The research method used is a quantitative approach with a pre-experimental one group pretest-posttest design. The research sample consisted of 8 third-grade students at Sanggar Belajar Kampung Bharu Malaysia, selected using a saturated sampling technique. Data were obtained through pretest and posttest assessments related to numeracy skill indicators, namely formulating problems, applying concepts, and interpreting answer results. The research results showed that the average pretest score of 66.25% increased to 96.25% in the posttest. The Shapiro–Wilk test indicated that the data were normally distributed, while the paired sample t-test result obtained a significance value of 0.004 < 0.05, thus H₀ was rejected and Hₐ was accepted. This proves that there is a significant influence of using multiplication board media on students' numeracy skills.

Abstract

Low mastery of Indonesian vocabulary among foreign-speaking students, characterised by achievement scores below the Minimum Completeness Criteria (KKM), low student participation, and the dominance of teacher-centred instructional methods, remains a major challenge in Indonesian language learning. This research aims to improve the Indonesian vocabulary skills of Grade IX students at Darul U-Loom School, Satun, Thailand, through the application of the Total Physical Response (TPR) model. The study employed a Classroom Action Research (CAR) method using the Kemmis and McTaggart spiral design, comprising planning, action, observation, and reflection stages. The research subjects were 25 Grade IX students. The study was conducted through three stages: pre-cycle, cycle I, and cycle II. Data were collected through vocabulary tests, classroom observations, interviews, and documentation, and analysed using descriptive statistics and N-Gain analysis to measure the level of improvement in students’ vocabulary skills. The results revealed a significant improvement in students’ vocabulary mastery, as indicated by the increase in average scores from 56.40 in the pre-cycle to 67.20 in cycle I and 78.60 in cycle II. Learning completeness also improved from 36% to 88%, while the N-Gain analysis showed an increase from low (0.25) to medium (0.51). These findings indicate that the TPR model is effective in improving Indonesian vocabulary mastery and fostering more active, enjoyable, and meaningful learning for foreign-speaking students.

Abstract

This study aimed to analyze the ability of 30 fifth-grade Matayom students (equivalent to 11th grade high school) at Thamasat Whittaya School, Southern Thailand, to write essays using Indonesian affixes correctly, and to identify the most common types of affixation errors among them. Mastery of affixes (prefixes, suffixes, infixes, and confixes) is considered crucial because even the smallest error can affect the overall quality of the essay, which is rooted in meaning formation and grammatical accuracy. Using a descriptive qualitative approach, data were collected through writing tests, observations, and teacher interviews. The analysis showed that students' abilities were moderate, with a high tendency for errors focused on prefixes, suffixes, and confixes, particularly related to phonological changes and grammatical inaccuracies. Infix errors were the least common. These findings underscore the urgent need to strengthen morphology learning through explicit strategies, ongoing contextual practice, and the development of teaching materials relevant to the needs of Thai students.
