Abstract

This study was conducted to determine the causes and location of student difficulties in solving mathematical problems with HOTS based on the mathematical connection skills they have. This research using qualitative methods, and was conducted in the even semester of the 2017/2018 academic year at STKIP Campus Santu Paulus Ruteng. The research subjects were selected using purposive sampling technique. The selected items were three students of the STKIP Santu Paulus Ruteng Mathematics Education Study Program, with categories namely one student capable of deep mathematical connections, one student capable of moderate mathematical connections, and one student capable of high mathematical connections. The selection of subjects from each of these categories is based on the results of the identification of problems that have been carried out during the initial observation. The instrument in this study was the researchers themselves. Besides, researchers use supporting instruments, namely tests and guidelines for interviews. In conducting interviews, researchers conduct structured and unstructured interviews. The technique of data collection is done by giving written tests and interviews conducted through the triangulation process. The triangulation process aims to obtain valid data carried out by conducting repeated interviews at different times to the same research subject. The interval between the first phase of the interview with the next stage is 14 days, and because the data is saturated, so the data collection stops. Data analysis is carried out when data collection takes place, and after data collection is carried out. The steps in analyzing the data using the Miles and Huberman analysis models, namely 1) reducing data, 2) presenting data, and 3) concluding. The results showed that, in solving mathematical problems with Hots, the subject of KKMR only relied on factual knowledge but had difficulties in using conceptual, procedural and metalogical knowledge, while the KKMS subject could only use factual and procedural knowledge but had difficulty using procedural knowledge and metacognition, while KKMT subjects only had difficulty in using their metalogical knowledge but did not experience difficulties in using factual, conceptual and procedural knowledge. Learning difficulties experienced by each subject are caused because they do not often practice mathematical solving with Hots when learning mathematics.

Abstract

This study aims to compare the mathematical problem solving abilities of students who use problem solving learning models with direct learning models in the linear program material of the first grade students at SMK Informatika St. Petrus Ruteng in academic year 2018/2019. This research is an experimental research using the design of Posttest-Only Control Design. The population of this research is all students of class X SMK Informatics St. Petrus Ruteng which amounted to 213 people divided into 6 classes with details of the first TKJ 36 people, TKJ II 36 people, TKJ II 36 people, TKJ IV 35 people, TKJ V 35 people and TKJ VI 35 people. Sampling is done by random class. The number of members of the study sample was 71 people. Data on problem solving abilities were collected by a description test. Data were analyzed using t-test calculations with the polled formula variant. Based on the results of data analysis, it was found that the results of t_count = 3.132 and t_table = 1.995 at significant level α = 5% and degrees of freedom = 69. Because t_count> t_table then H_0 is rejected and H_1 is accepted, which means that mathematical problem solving abilities of students using models Problem Solving learning is better than students' mathematical problem solving abilities using direct learning models in linear program material.

Abstract

Kemampuan koneksi matematis merupakan kemampuan untuk mencari hubungan inter topik, antar topik, suatu topik dengan ilmu lain, atau suatu topik dengan masalah dalam kehidupan sehari-hari dalam bidang matematika. Kemampuan koneksi merupakan salah satu aspek yang harus dimiliki siswa agar berprestasi dalam belajar matematika. Penelitian ini merupakan penelitian kualitatif yang bertujuan mendeskripsikan profil kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah menengah atas (SMA) pada masalah fungsi komposisi. Penelitian ini melibatkan 36 orang siswa sekolah menengah atas dan dipilih 3 orang siswa sebagai subjek utama. Data kemampuan koneksi matematis dikumpulkan melalui tes, tugas, dan wawancara tidak terstruktur sesuai dengan tugas yang diberikan. Data dianalisis secara kualitatif untuk memahami, menelaah, dan menafsirkan koneksi matematis siswa sekolah menengah atas pada masalah fungsi komposisi. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa (1) siswa sekolah menengah atas dengan tingkat disposisi matematis tinggi memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang baik. Siswa tersebut mampu melakukan koneksi baik inter topik maupun antar topik. Selain itu juga, mampu melakukan koneksi materi matematika dengan bidang lain maupun materi matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, (2) siswa sekolah menengah atas dengan tingkat disposisi matematis sedang memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang cukup baik. Siswa tersebut mampu melakukan koneksi baik inter maupun antar topik dalam matematika. Namun, belum dapat melakukan koneksi matematika dengan bidang lain atau koneksi materi matematika dengan kehidupan sehari-hari, dan (3) siswa sekolah menengah atas dengan tingkat disposisi matematis rendah memiliki kemampuan koneksi matematis yang kurang baik. Siswa SMA dengan tingkat disposisi matematis yang rendah mampu melakukan koneksi inter topik dalam materi matematika. Namun, siswa tersebut masih sangat kesulitan dalam melakukan koneksi antar topik dalam matematika, dan juga kesulitan dalam melakukan koneksi materi matematika baik dengan bidang lain maupun dengan fenomena dalam kehidupan sehari-hari. Hasil penelitian ini memberikan kontribusi berupa masukan dan rekomendasi bagi guru matematika dan penentu kebijakan di sekolah menengah atas agar membimbing dan meningkatkan kemampuan koneksi matematis siswa sesuai dengan tingkat disposisi matematis.

Abstract

The purpose of this study was to determine whether or not there is an effect of a scientific learning approach with local wisdom on students' mathematics learning achievement. The population were students of class II SMPN I Ruteng-Cancar for the 2018/2019 academic year. The sample was determined by random class. There were 64 students who were divided into two treatment groups. A total of 32 students in the experimental class and 32 students in the control class. The difference in effect between experimental action (scientific learning with local wisdom) and control action (conventional learning) is seen in the average difference test between these two groups. Data analysis used statistical t test, in which the sample groups are mutually independent. Obtained, tcount = 3,21 and ttable = 1,67. Because t_count > t_table then Ho: µ1 ≤ µ2 is rejected, otherwise H1: µ1 > µ2 is accepted. The conclusion is that learning with a scientific approach containing local wisdom has a positive and significant effect on student achievement.

Abstract

The goal of this study was to ascertain how students in mathematics education reacted to online instruction. This study employs a quantitative evaluation framework. The Systematic Random Sampling approach was used to choose the 120 respondents, all of whom are students in mathematics. Through an online survey completed utilizing a Google form, the study's data collection process involves gathering student feedback on online learning. Quantitative descriptive analysis was used to examine the data. The findings revealed that the first category, student motivation for online learning, was in the poor range, followed by the poor range for the Moodle-provided teaching materials, the fairly good range for the implementation of online learning, the fairly good range for the evaluation, and the good range for the challenges encountered during online learning. Therefore, in general, students studying mathematics education do not favor online learning.

Abstract

AbstrakPenelitian ini dilakukan untuk melihat kemandirian belajar mahasiswa pada mata kuliah Matematika Dasar dalam mengikuti pembelajaran jarak jauh khususnya pembelajaran dalam jaringan selama masa Pandemi Covid-19. Merupakan penelitian kuantitatif-deskriptif dengan 85 orang mahasiswa tahun pertama Prodi Sosial Ekonomi Pertanian Universitas Katolik Indonesia Santu Paulus Ruteng dengan fokus untuk mempelajari kemandirian belajar mahasiswa yang mengikuti pembelajaran dalam jaringan karena situasi Pandemi Covid-19. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan 18.82% mahasiswa yang memiliki kemandirian belajar rendah, sedangkan 81.18% mahasiswa memiliki kemandirian belajar yang tinggi. Selanjutnya, dalam wawancara semi terstruktur ditemukan bahwa mahasiswa pada awalnya mengalami kesulitan dalam beradaptasi perubahan kebiasaan belajar, keterbatasan sumber daya belajar dalam jaringan, dan kurangnya interaksi baik sesama mahasiswa maupun dengan dosen. Keterbatasan ini mendorong mahasiswa semakin mandiri dalam belajar yang terlihat dari lebih dari 70% mahasiswa sudah menetapkan tujuan belajar, strategi belajar, mampu mengatur waktu belajar, dan melakukan evaluasi diri terhadap proses pembelajaran yang telah diikuti. Lebih dari 80% mahasiswa menentukan lingkungan belajar yang mendukung suasana belajar dan mencari bantuan dari rekan sekelas apabila mengalami kesulitan dalam belajar.  Kata Kunci: kemandirian belajar, pandemic Covid-19, pembelajaran jarak jauh. AbstractThis research was conducted to see the independence of student learning in the Basic Mathematics course in participating in distance learning, especially online learning during the Covid-19 Pandemic. This is a quantitative-descriptive study with 85 first-year students of the Agricultural Socio-Economic Study Program of the Indonesian Catholic University, Santu Paulus Ruteng, with a focus on studying the learning independence of students who take online learning due to the Covid-19 Pandemic situation. The results showed 18.82% of students had low learning independence, while 81.18% of students had high learning independence. Furthermore, in semi-structured interviews, it was found that students initially experienced difficulties in adapting to changes in learning habits, limited learning resources in the network, and a lack of interaction between students and lecturers. This limitation encourages students to be more independent in learning, which can be seen from more than 70% of students who have set learning goals, learning strategies, being able to manage study time, and conduct self-evaluation of the learning process that has been followed. More than 80% of students determine a learning environment that supports a learning atmosphere and seek help from classmates.Keywords: independent learning, Covid-19 pandemic, distance learning.

Abstract

Abstrak. Pendekaatan paradigma pedagogi reflektif adalah suatu prosedur pembelajaran yang di dalamnya terdapat interaksi antara mahasiswa dengan materi yang dipelajarinya yang damping oleh dosen sebagai fasilitator. Perancangan proses pembelajaran dilakukan sedemikian rupa sehingga mahasiswa menjadi pusat proses belajar dan dituntut untuk menemukan diri dalam kesadarannya untuk menggali pengetahuan serta nilai dengan penuh tanggungjawab. Penelitian ini, bertujuan untuk mendeskripsikan bahwa Paradigma Pedagodi Reflektif (PPR) yang dikombinasikan dengan Flipped Clasroom sebagai salah satu alternatif model pembelajaran yang dapat digunakan dalam kegiatan pembelajaran, khususnya di tengah masa pandemic. Subjek penelitian untuk masing-masing kelas kontrol dan eksperimen berjumlah 19 orang. Data dikumpulkan dengan menggunakan tes tertulis dengan soal uraian berjumlah 5 nomor. Soal terlebih dahulu diuji validitas dan reliabilitasnya. Hasil penelitian menunjukkan bahwa terdapat perbedaan prestasi mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan menerapkan PPR yang dikombinasikan dengan Flipped Clasroom dengan mahasiswa yang diajarkan dengan metode konvensional. Sehingga berdasarkan hasil ini dapat disimpulkan bahwa terdapat pengaruh penerapan PPR yang dikombinasikan dengan Flipped Clasroom terhadap prestasi belajar mahasiswa. Oleh karena itu, peneliti merekomendasikan agar para pengajar dapat menerapkan paradigma pedagogi reflektif yang dikombinasikan dengan flippedclassroom dalam kegiatan pembelajaran.Kata Kunci: Flipped Clasroom, Model Pembelajaran, Pedagodi Reflektif.

Abstract

Kegiatan pengabdian ini bertujuan untuk meningkatkan keterampilan guru dalam pembelajaran. Fokus kegiatan peningkatan keterampilan ini pada inovasi guru mengembangkan dan memanfaatkan media pembelajaran berbasis video pembelajaran. Peserta kegiatan yaitu 21 orang guru di SMP Negeri 6 Langke Rembong. Pelaksanaan kegiatan pengabdian ini berupa pelatihan pembuatan video pembelajaran menggunakan aplikasi videoscribe. Metode pelaksanaan terdiri dari tiga tahap yakni perencanaan (observasi), pelaksanaan (dampingan), dan evaluasi. Hasil dari kegiatan pelatihan ini yaitu adanya peningkatan keterampilan guru SMP dalam mengembangkan video pembelajaran. Pada kegiatan pelatihan ini, 23,81% guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran dengan kategori sangat baik, 61,90% guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran dengan kategori baik, dan 14,29% guru berhasil membuat video pembelajaran dengan kategori cukup baik. Guru termotivasi dalam pelatihan pembuatan media pembelajaran karena kegiatan ini menjadi pengalaman baru dan sangat bermanfaat untuk meningkatkan kualitas pembelajaran di kelas. The goal of this service project is to enhance teachers' ability to teach. This activity focuses on the creativity of teachers in creating and implementing video-based learning materials. There were 21 teachers from SMP Negeri 6 Langke Rembong who took part in the activity. This service's activities include of instruction in creating instructional films with the video scribe program. The implementation method consists of three stages: planning (observation), implementation (assistance), and evaluation. As a result of this training exercise, junior high school instructors now possess greater expertise in creating instructional movies. The findings of this training activity are that 23.81% of instructors can make learning films in the excellent category, 61.90% of teachers in the satisfactory, and 14.29% of teachers in the deficient. Making learning media is an activity that teachers are motivated to learn since it is novel and greatly enhances the standard of instruction in the classroom.

Abstract

This research was conducted to find out what, why and how mathematical strategic abilities possessed by students. This research used qualitative methods. Research subjects were selected using purposive techniques, namely students who had high achievement motivation (MPT Subjects), students who had moderate achievement motivation (MPS Subjects), and students who had low achievement motivation (MPR Subjects). The main research instrument is the researcher himself, while the supporting instruments are tests and interview guidelines. Data collection is done by giving written tests on statistical material and conducting in-depth interviews. Research data was analyzed in the following ways, namely reducing data, presenting data, and drawing conclusions or verification. The results of the research show that MPT Subjects have good mathematical strategic abilities so they can solve mathematical problems correctly. Furthermore, MPS Subjects have mathematical strategic abilities but are still inadequate so that the mathematical problems they solve still contain errors, while MPR Subjects do not yet have good mathematical strategic abilities. well so it can't solve mathematical problems correctly.

Abstract

Tomatoes are one of the most commonly cultivated vegetables. This vegetable is multipurpose, especially as a daily cooking spice, a raw material for tomato sauce, and has a delicious and slightly sour taste. Considering its still low production, it is necessary to develop cultivation efforts to increase its yield. This study aims to determine the effect of different planting distances on the growth and yield of tomato plants (Solanum lycopersicum L). The research was conducted in La'o Village, Wali Subdistrict, Langke Rembong District, Manggarai Regency, East Nusa Tenggara, from April to July 2024. The method used in this study was a Randomized Block Design, consisting of 4 treatment levels: J1: 50x40 cm, J2: 50x50 cm, J3: 40x30 cm, and J4: 40x40 cm. Each treatment level was repeated 4 times, resulting in 16 experimental units. Each experimental unit contained 10 plants, with a total of 160 plants. Observations were made by examining 5 sample plants per experimental unit, with a total of 80 sample plants. The parameters observed in this study included: plant height (cm), number of leaves (blades), number of branches, flowering age (days), stem diameter (mm), number of harvested fruits (g), and fruit harvest weight (g). The data obtained were analyzed using Analysis of Variance (ANOVA) or F test at the 5% level. If significant differences were found, Duncan's Multiple Range Test was conducted at the 5% level. Research results show that various planting distances do not have a significant effect on all parameters. The ideal planting distance for tomato plants is observed with the following treatments: J3 (40 x 30 cm) for plant height, J2 (50 x 50 cm) for the number of leaves, J1 (50 x 40 cm) for flowering age, stem diameter, and J4 (40 x 40 cm) for the fresh weight of harvested fruit.
