Abstract

Creative thinking is a key 21st-century skill, yet its development in elementary education remains limited due to traditional, teacher-centered methods. While inquiry-based learning promotes cognitive engagement and gamification fosters motivation, few instructional models combine both to enhance creativity systematically. This study developed and validated the INGAME model (Inquiry Model with Gamification Elements) using the ADDIE instructional design framework. A research and development (RD) approach guided the model’s creation, expert validation, and classroom implementation. Participants included 23 fifth-grade students and one teacher from an Indonesian public elementary school. Data were gathered through expert validation sheets, teacher and student questionnaires, creative thinking rubrics, observations, and interviews, then analyzed using descriptive statistics and thematic analysis. Validation results showed high content and structural validity (mean = 90.16%). Practicality, based on teacher feedback, was rated as high (mean = 82%). Effectiveness was confirmed through both student self-assessments (mean = 79%) and creative thinking rubric scores, which showed improvement across Torrance’s four indicators: fluency, flexibility, originality, and elaboration (average gain = +1.13). Observation data revealed active student engagement throughout the model’s eight gamified inquiry phases, averaging 85.8% participation. The INGAME model successfully integrates cognitive rigor with motivational design, offering a structured, scalable solution for fostering creativity in elementary classrooms. It contributes to educational innovation aligned with SDG 4 and national curriculum reform by operationalizing “motivated constructivism” through inquiry and gamification.

Abstract

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the effect of guided inquiry learning model assisted by FunMath video media on the ability to understand mathematical concepts of third grade elementary school students. The study used a quantitative approach with a quasi-experimental design of the Nonequivalent Control Group Design type. The research sample consisted of two classes, namely class IIIA as the experimental class and class IIIB as the control class, each with 20 samples. The instrument was a mathematical concept understanding test that had met the validity and reliability criteria with a Cronbach's alpha value of 0.777. The results showed that the average pretest-posttest score in the experimental class increased from 46.00 ± 6.92 to 83.10 ± 6.55, while in the control class it increased from 48.10 ± 7.01 to 74.40 ± 7.12. The Paired Sample T-test showed a significant difference between the pretest and posttest in the experimental class (t = −22.995; p < 0.001). An independent sample t-test showed a significant difference between the experimental and control classes in the posttest (p < 0.05). The treatment effect was in the medium-strong category with an effect size (Cohen's d) of 1.63. These results indicate that the guided inquiry learning model assisted by FunMath video media effectively improves the mathematical concept understanding ability of third-grade elementary school students.

Abstract

Educational institutions must navigate rapid change and increasing complexity, making school leadership a crucial factor in shaping organizational conditions. This study investigates the relationship between principals’ adaptive leadership and two organizational outcomes: positive school culture and school climate. Using a quantitative explanatory design, data were collected from 63 vocational high school teachers through self-administered questionnaires. Adaptive leadership was the independent variable, while positive school culture and school climate were the dependent variables. Descriptive statistics and simple linear regression were applied for analysis. The results show that adaptive leadership is significantly associated with both positive school culture and school climate, accounting for a meaningful proportion of the variance in each. Leadership practices characterized by responsiveness, participation, and flexibility contribute to favorable organizational conditions. However, the effect sizes suggest that leadership is only one of several influencing factors. The findings support adaptive leadership theory in vocational education and highlight the need for further research on additional organizational variables and longitudinal school improvement processes

Abstract

Administrative service quality has become a critical component of student experience in higher education, particularly as institutions face increasing demands for efficiency, responsiveness, and service consistency. This study examines whether excellent service management significantly improves administrative service quality in higher education. Using a quantitative cross-sectional survey design, data were collected from 277 undergraduate students who had directly interacted with faculty-level administrative services. Excellent service management was operationalized through indicators of responsiveness, accuracy, timeliness, professionalism, clarity, and information consistency, while administrative service quality was measured using the SERVQUAL framework. Data were analyzed using descriptive statistics, validity and reliability testing, and simple linear regression analysis. The findings indicate that students generally perceive both excellent service management and administrative service quality positively. Regression results reveal a strong, significant effect of excellent service management on administrative service quality, accounting for 77.7% of the variance in students’ perceptions. Interpersonal service attributes emerged as the strongest, while digital responsiveness was identified as a key area for improvement. The study contributes to higher education service literature by empirically positioning excellent service management as a measurable antecedent of administrative service quality. Practically, the findings highlight the importance of aligning managerial service practices with both face-to-face and digital service delivery to support student-centered administration in higher education.
