Abstract

The role of gender in society has undergone significant changes in recent decades. Social transformation, economic advancements, and the increasing advocacy for gender equality have influenced the dynamics of family law. This research aims to analyze the impact of changing gender roles on family law dynamics in the context of the modern era. In this case study, the researcher will examine how changes in gender roles affect child custody, roles in marriage and divorce, and other legal implications using a qualitative approach by collecting data from various sources, such as literature reviews, documentation, and analysis of related legal cases. Data analysis will be conducted using a comparative descriptive approach to identify changes occurring in family law and its relation to changing gender roles. The results of this study indicate that changes in gender roles within family law have significant impacts in the modern era. These changes include the expected roles of husbands and wives in marriage, child custody after divorce, as well as legal protection against gender discrimination and access to fair legal services. Although challenges still exist, it is important for society and the legal system to support these changes and address existing barriers. Thus, marital and divorce relationships can become more balanced, fair, and consider the best interests of the couples and children involved.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the phenomenon of voter abstention, known as voter abstention (Golongan Putih or Golput), from the perspectives of Islamic law and Indonesian electoral legislation. The research utilizes a qualitative approach, relying on literature reviews and primary governmental documents to analyze how these two legal frameworks address and regulate voter abstention. The study explores the intersection of Islamic jurisprudence, particularly the 2009 fatwa by the Indonesian Ulama Council (Majelis Ulama Indonesia or MUI) that declared Golput haram (forbidden), and Indonesia’s electoral law, specifically Law No. 7 of 2017, which encourages voter participation without penalizing abstention. The findings reveal that while Golput is not prohibited by electoral law, it is framed as a violation of religious duty within Islamic legal thought. Additionally, the study highlights Golput as a form of civil resistance and political expression in Indonesia's democratic system. The analysis of these dual legal systems provides insights into the complexities of voter behavior and presents recommendations for strengthening democratic engagement. The implications of this research suggest that integrating religious principles with legal norms could enhance voter turnout and foster more inclusive electoral participation in Indonesia.

Abstract

The science that is circulating today has been influenced by Western philosophy, namely secularism and skepticism. This has led to the separation of religion (God) from science, with doubt becoming the foundation in the search for truth. This is, of course, in contrast to Islamic values. Therefore, Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas offer the concept of the Islamization of science as a solution to the problems faced. The aim of this research is to examine the concept of the Islamization of science according to Ismail Raji Al-Faruqi and Syed Muhammad Naquib Al-Attas and its implications for the development of Islamic education. In this research practice, the researcher uses a qualitative approach and a descriptive method of non-interactive study. Data collection was carried out through literature study techniques, with the researcher as the key instrument. The collected data was then analyzed through the stages of data reduction, data display, and conclusion drawing. The results of this study show that there are both similarities and differences regarding several concepts within the Islamization of science in the views of Al-Faruqi and Al-Attas. Among the similarities is the background that justifies the need for Islamization. The differences between them are found in the stages of the Islamization of science. Al-Attas provides a general explanation with two stages: alienation and absorption. In contrast, Al-Faruqi offers a detailed explanation of this process with 12 stages. Another finding from this research indicates that the concept of the Islamization of science has implications for the development of Islamic education, covering institutional, curriculum, and educator aspects.

Abstract

This community service program aims to enhance the understanding and application of the concept of work as worship at the Meulaboh Primary Tax Office to build a stronger spiritual-based work ethic. The activities were conducted through counseling sessions and interactive discussions facilitated by Edy Syahputra, a lecturer at STAIN Teungku Dirundeng Meulaboh. The delivered materials emphasized the importance of working with the right intentions, a strong sense of responsibility, and adherence to spiritual values so that work is not solely result-oriented but also carries a dimension of worship that brings blessings.  The evaluation of the program indicated an increase in participants' awareness and motivation to implement this concept in their daily work. They gained a deeper understanding of the significance of honesty, integrity, and professionalism in fulfilling their duties, particularly in providing high-quality services to taxpayers. Additionally, there were organizational initiatives to further integrate spiritual aspects into the work culture, fostering a more harmonious and productive environment. Thus, optimizing work as worship can serve as an effective strategy to improve employee performance and cultivate a more ethical and meaningful work culture in the taxation sector. Abstract

Until now, the majority of zakat associations in BAZNAS Mukomuko District are still focused on optimizing civil servants. Out of a total of 2062 muzzaki, 76% are civil servants, while only 24% come from the general public. The zakat collection is still relatively small, far from its full potential. Out of a potential of 10 billion, only Rp. 1,875,250,884 or approximately 18% has been collected. This is indicative of the lack of public literacy on zakat. Therefore, the objective of this research is to measure the level of zakat literacy among the residents of Mukomuko District, with a focus on the Muzakki of BAZNAS Mukomuko District. The research method employed is qualitative, and zakat literacy is analyzed using a test instrument measured using a multiple-choice method. The research findings indicate that the zakat literacy index in Mukomuko District falls into the 'moderate' category with a value of 78.7. The factors contributing to this level include knowledge, awareness, culture, spending priorities, lack of education, and educational factors.

Abstract

This study analyzes the Al-Taysir al-Manhaji method in the issuance of fatwas by the National Sharia Council of the Indonesian Ulema Council (DSN-MUI) and its implications for Islamic economic practices in Indonesia. The research aims to examine the methodology of Al-Taysir al-Manhaji, assess its relevance in Islamic economic law, and identify its impact on the implementation of Islamic financial principles. A qualitative library research method was employed, drawing on an analysis of DSN-MUI fatwas, classical and contemporary Islamic jurisprudence literature, and regulatory documents on Islamic economics. The findings indicate that the Al-Taysir al-Manhaji method facilitates flexibility in fatwa issuance while maintaining adherence to Islamic principles. This method has been applied in various DSN-MUI fatwas, including murabahah, wa’d, and Islamic hedging, supporting financial innovation and enhancing the competitiveness of Islamic banking and capital markets. The study implies that this method contributes to the harmonization of Islamic economic regulations with the national legal system. However, a robust monitoring mechanism is required to prevent the misuse of legal leniency. Future research is recommended to conduct empirical studies on the practical implementation of this method within the Islamic financial industry and comparative studies with other countries to evaluate its effectiveness in a global context.

Abstract

This study examines the religious responses of pesantren-based Muslim women in urban Indonesia to the fatwa issued by the Indonesian Ulema Council (MUI) supporting Palestine. The research focuses on the Jam'iyyah Perempuan Pengasuh Pesantren dan Muballighah (JP3M) in Metro City, employing a qualitative phenomenological approach through in-depth interviews, observation, and documentation. The findings reveal three main dimensions in interpreting the fatwa: Islamic solidarity (ukhuwah Islamiyah), humanitarian solidarity (ukhuwah insaniyah), and contextual understanding. These dimensions manifest in community actions such as fundraising, digital campaigns, and public education, integrating religious values with modern practices. The study indicates that religious literacy, access to global information, and local social dynamics shape the religious expressions of urban Muslim women. However, the geographically limited context of Metro City may influence the findings due to regional cultural factors, community social structures, and institutional access, which may not reflect other urban settings. Therefore, comparative studies involving similar communities across diverse regions must capture a broader spectrum of religious responses. Moreover, a multidisciplinary approach combining perspectives from sociology, religious studies, and digital technology is essential to provide a more comprehensive and contextually relevant analysis of this complex global religious phenomenon.

Abstract

The main problems in the implementation of the e-Court system in the Religious Court are the limited information technology infrastructure, technical constraints, and low digital literacy of the parties to the case. This condition creates a gap between the goal of digitizing the judiciary and the reality of implementation in the field. This study aims to examine the implementation of the Supreme Court of the Republic of Indonesia Regulation Number 7 of 2022 concerning the administration of cases and electronic trials at the Religious Court under the jurisdiction of the Banten High Court of Religion. The method used is juridical-empirical with a qualitative approach, through data collection in the form of in-depth interviews and direct observation at six Religious Courts in the jurisdiction. The results of the study show that e-Court is able to improve the efficiency of administration and trial processes, but still faces obstacles in the form of limited infrastructure, lack of digital literacy of the parties, and lack of ongoing technical support. The contribution of this research lies in providing comprehensive strategy recommendations through strengthening infrastructure, increasing user capacity, and policy socialization so that the implementation of e-Court can be more equitable, effective, and support the realization of a fast, transparent, and fair judicial system.
