Abstract

Background: Nursing vocational education is one of the education sectors that has quite felt the impact of the Covid-19 disease outbreak because it is mandatory to practice in hospitals so that they have expertise in applied science. Objective: . This study explores the needs of vocational nursing students in carrying out clinical practice in hospitals during the Covid-19 pandemic. Method: The research design used in this study is a qualitative description approach, the sampling technique is purposive sampling, and the analysis uses thematic analysis. The number of participants in this study was 18. Result: The study's results revealed various obstacles students experienced when carrying out clinical practice as illustrated in four themes, namely patients and families doubting our abilities as students and our capabilities as nurses also challenge students. Conclusion: We need to understand that we are learning, shocked, embarrassed, and scared when the nurse scolds us in front of the patient. Recommendation: Policymakers need to carry out more effective clinical practice in the Covid-19 era by improving students' therapeutic communication skills and paying attention to psychological conditions. Building self-resilience and suitable coping mechanisms in student nurses before going into clinical practice

Abstract

ABSTRACT Objective: to investigate the effectiveness of skin wraps in preventing hypothermia on newborn of premature infants. Method: study litetarure was selected which the articles were taken from the database ScienceDirect, Wiley dan Scopus. Articles were retrieved using the following keywords: skin wrap and premature infants. Result: one article didn’t proved that the use of plastic was uneffective at maintaining the premature infant's body temperature (p = 0.07). The average plastic could use of non sterile plastics and wraping to the premature infant's body imedietly after newborn without drying body. The plastic attachment could be all over the body and head or covering up the neck. Conclusions: the use of plastic immediately after birth with vynil isolation bag or polyethylene plastic effective for preventing heat loss in premature infants.

Abstract

Background: People with diabetes mellitus increase every year, diabetes mellitus is a disease characterized by hyperglycemia, which is high blood sugar levels. People with diabetes mellitus usually get the stress throughout their lives. Some prevention can be usefull on patients to prevent complications, progressive muscle relaxation can increase insulin absorption and reduce stress.Objective: to examine the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation in reducing fasting blood sugar levels. Method: This article is part of a previous study, with tittle differences in the effectiveness of progressive muscle relaxation and physical exercise in reducing blood sugar levels in people with diabetes mellitus type 2. Progressive muscle relaxation is carried out for 6 consecutive days, two sessions per day, with duration 30 minutes per session. Results: on average the respondents were 50.37 years old, and the results showed that p = 0,000 (p <0.05), ie there was a decrease in fasting blood sugar levels in the intervention group from 171.93 mg / dL (pre) to 121, 73 mg / dL (post).Conclusion: progressive muscle relaxation with minumum duration 30 minutes is effective in reducing fasting blood sugar levels in elderly with diabetes mellitus type 2.

Abstract

Unwanted pregnancy still became big problem the world. Unwanted pregnancy mostly happen in adolescents, because emotional and physical instability of teenagers makes risk of having an abortion increased, and is influenced by adolescents' knowledge and attitudes. This study aims to determine the relationship between knowledge and attitudes of adolescents with KTD. This study was cross sectional method using the total sample. The results showed that adolescent knowledge and attitudes were not significantly associated with KTD (p> 0.05). KTD is not related to the knowledge and attitudes of adolescents, but one respondent who has KTD is a teenager with less knowledge and negative attitude, so further research is needed, increasing the number of samples and analyzing KTD factors in adolescents.

Abstract

Introduction: dissociative trance is susceptible to occur in first year student. This is associated with their ability in dealing with academic stress. Objective: this study aimed to explore the perception of freshmen year who experience trance that were associated with stress. Methods: this qualitative research used descriptive methods. The sampling technique was a purposive sampling. The participants were freshmen in the first semester and students who experienced mass trance. This study used in-depth interview as data collection technique. Result: there were five main themes, psychological responses and coping mechanisms of freshmen year who experience a trance in adapting to a new environment, perceptions of students who experience a trance that are in line with attitudes and emotional states in dealing with stress, impact namely of unresolved stressors on students who are in a trance experiencing a mass trance, the support system needed by students who are in a trance to cope with stress, and the process of the occurrence of a trance. Conclusion: stress factors and responses to cope the stress, as well as beliefs and heredity are considered as triggers for the occurrence of trance in freshmen year. This study described students' perceptions of the occurrence of trance. Further research is needed to find out the specific factors of trance.
