Abstract

Abstract

Although verbal violence has been widely studied from psychological and communication perspectives, studies that specifically discuss its conceptualization in the Qur’an through thematic exegesis of the terms sukhriyah, lamz, and humazah remain limited. This study aimed to analyze the semantic nuances of these three terms, identify the hierarchy of Divine sanctions against verbal violence, and formulate their relevance to contemporary communication ethics. This study used a qualitative approach with the thematic exegesis method (tafsīr maudhū‘ī) integrated with Toshihiko Izutsu’s semantic analysis. Data were obtained through a literature review of primary sources in the form of the Qur’an and classical and modern exegetical works, supported by relevant secondary literature. The results showed that sukhriyah, lamz, and humazah represent gradations of verbal violence, ranging from superiority-based mockery and personal reproach to harsh verbal abuse. The Qur’an prohibits such behavior through a progressive and educational hierarchy of sanctions, including moral condemnation, negative social labeling as ẓālimūn, the eschatological threat of the Hellfire of Ḥuṭamah, and the door of repentance as a path to rehabilitation. These findings contribute to the development of Qur’anic communication ethics theory by offering a gradational framework of verbal violence that goes beyond the principle of positive communication alone. Thus, the Qur’anic approach provides a preventive-rehabilitative model relevant to addressing contemporary phenomena such as cyberbullying and hate speech. The implications of this study include enriching the literature on thematic exegesis and providing practical guidance for educators, parents, and digital policymakers in building a civilized communication culture based on Qur’anic values.

Abstract

Islamic educational supervision plays a strategic role in improving the quality and professionalism of educators while integrating Islamic values into the learning process. Etymologically, the term supervision derives from the words super and vision, meaning “to see from above” or “to oversee.” In the context of Islamic education, supervision is understood as a form of service, guidance, and nurturing conducted in a humanistic and Islamic manner to assist teachers in developing competence, character, and effectiveness in teaching and learning. Supervision is not merely focused on administrative control but also emphasizes spiritual and moral aspects through the principle of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar (enjoining good and forbidding evil). The urgency of Islamic educational supervision lies in its function as a means of teacher development, enabling educators to adapt to modern challenges without losing their Islamic spirit. Through well-directed supervision, teachers receive guidance, motivation, and feedback to enhance professionalism and teaching quality. Furthermore, supervision serves to maintain the quality of educational institutions so that they remain grounded in the principles of aqidah, sharia, and noble character. Therefore, Islamic educational supervision holds a comprehensive meaning—not only as a control mechanism but also as a medium for nurturing and transforming Islamic values within the education system.

Abstract

Islamic educational supervision is a systematic effort to guide and enhance the professional quality of teachers based on Islamic spiritual and moral values. This study aims to describe the concepts, techniques, and challenges in the implementation of supervision within Islamic education. The research employs a descriptive qualitative approach through literature analysis that integrates modern supervision theories with Islamic educational principles. The results indicate that supervision in the Islamic context is not merely a form of control but a process of guidance and mentorship (taujih and tarbiyah) emphasizing the values of amar ma’ruf nahi munkar, sincerity, and moral responsibility. Supervision techniques can be conducted individually or in groups, such as classroom observation, interviews, workshops, and peer supervision. However, its implementation still faces several challenges, including limited supervisor competence, control-oriented paradigms, and low teacher awareness of the importance of Islamic-based supervision. Therefore, continuous strategies are needed, such as capacity building for supervisors, collaborative approaches, and the use of supervision instruments aligned with Islamic values. Supervision grounded in Islamic principles is expected to develop educators who are professional, morally upright, and committed to improving the overall quality of education sustainably

Abstract

This study aims to evaluate the implementation of teacher performance development and the effectiveness of evaluation activities in improving teacher professionalism and the overall quality of education. Teachers play a crucial role as planners, implementers, and evaluators of the learning process; therefore, enhancing teacher performance is a key factor in achieving educational success. This research employs a library research method by collecting relevant literature from books, academic journals, and online sources related to the evaluation and development of teacher performance. The findings indicate that teacher performance development has generally been implemented through academic supervision, group discussions, and training activities. However, these programs often remain formal and have not fully addressed the real needs of teachers in the field. The principal plays a central role as a supervisor in providing guidance, feedback, and motivation for teachers to continually improve their competence. On the other hand, the evaluation system for teacher performance development in most schools is still suboptimal due to the lack of systematic follow-up and continuity. Therefore, the evaluation of teacher performance development should be carried out in a systematic, planned, and participatory manner involving all relevant stakeholders. An effective evaluation will provide constructive feedback for teachers and help educational institutions design more targeted strategies for performance improvement. Consequently, the evaluation results can contribute to enhancing teacher professionalism and the overall quality of education.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the optimal implementation of educational supervision using Artificial Intelligence (AI) to improve the quality of learning in elementary schools. The research employs a library research approach by reviewing various relevant literatures such as books, scientific journals, papers, and policy documents. The findings reveal that most Islamic educational institutions still apply traditional curricula that focus on memorization and normative mastery of religious materials, which do not fully support 21st-century skills such as digital literacy and critical thinking. Furthermore, AI contributes to enhancing transparency and enables more data-driven planning for teachers’ professional development. However, several challenges remain, including inadequate technological infrastructure, limited skilled human resources, and concerns regarding data privacy that need to be addressed. These findings indicate that AI holds great potential to transform the way educational supervision is conducted, but its success depends on the readiness and supportive policies of educational institutions. The study recommends the importance of training for education practitioners, strengthening technological infrastructure, and developing data privacy policies to ensure that the implementation of AI in educational supervision can run effectively and sustainably.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze conflict management in Islamic educational institutions and how Islamic principles can be applied to manage emerging conflicts effectively. Conflict is a natural and unavoidable phenomenon in any organization, including Islamic educational institutions that consist of individuals with diverse backgrounds, values, and interests. This research employs a library research method, collecting data from various books, journals, and relevant academic sources. The results indicate that conflicts in Islamic educational institutions may arise from differences in perspectives, leadership styles, ineffective communication, and limited resources. Therefore, it is essential to implement conflict management strategies based on Islamic values such as syura (consultation), ‘adl (justice), islah (reconciliation), ihsan (benevolence), and ukhuwah islamiyah (brotherhood). By applying these principles, conflicts can be transformed into opportunities for learning, strengthening social relations, and improving institutional quality. In conclusion, effective and Islamic-based conflict management can foster a harmonious, conducive, and productive environment within Islamic educational institutions.

Abstract

Decision-making is a crucial aspect of the educational field as it directly affects learning quality, school management, and the achievement of educational goals. This article aims to describe various decision-making techniques applicable within educational institutions and to analyze the factors influencing the effectiveness of decisions made by school principals and teachers. The research method used is library research, collecting data from various literatures, academic journals, and online sources related to the concept and application of decision-making techniques. The results indicate that the success of decision-making in schools depends on the accuracy of the techniques applied, such as rational, intuitive, participatory, and data-driven approaches. Participatory and group decision-making techniques foster collaboration and shared responsibility, while rational and data-driven techniques enhance the objectivity of educational policies. Therefore, effective decision-making in education must be systematic, democratic, and data-based to support the development of adaptive, efficient, and sustainable educational management.

Abstract

The follow-up of supervisory results is a crucial stage in improving the quality of learning and teacher performance. This study employs a library research method with a qualitative approach by analyzing various relevant journals and references. The findings indicate that supervisory follow-up, which includes planning, coaching, training, monitoring, and further evaluation, is able to enhance teacher competence and the effectiveness of the learning process. In addition, supervisory follow-up plays an important role in strengthening quality culture, improving teacher professionalism, and building collaborative relationships between principals and teachers. Although there are challenges such as limited time, resources, and teacher resistance, these obstacles can be overcome through proper management, persuasive approaches, and integrating follow-up programs into institutional planning. Thus, the follow-up of supervisory results becomes a strategic instrument in improving the quality of education, particularly in Islamic educational institutions

Abstract

This article examines the construction of hadith authority within the Islamic scholarly tradition by positioning the classifications of sahih, hasan and da’if as an epistemological foundation for determining the reliability and validity of a narration. This study is motivated by the tendency for discussions of hadith to often stop at normative definitions, meaning that the role of hadith classification as a determinant of the scientific legitimacy of a narration has not yet been examined in depth. This research aims to explain the function of hadith classification as the epistemological basis of hadith authority, assess its relevance in contemporary hadith interpretation, and formulate a conceptual model that can bridge classical authority and the needs of modern interpretation. This research employs a qualitative approach using a literature review of classical and contemporary literature in hadith studies. The findings indicate that classical hadith classification theory retains strong significance in maintaining the discipline of verification, historical credibility, and the scientific validity of hadith. However, these theories have limitations when confronted with issues of socio-historical context, interpretation, and practical relevance in modern life. Therefore, this article proposes an integrative model that combines traditional chain of transmission verification with analysis of the text, historical context, normative objectives, as well as ethical and practical relevance. This model allows the authority of hadith to be preserved epistemologically whilst remaining responsive to the challenges of modernity
