Abstract

Innovative learning media in primary education remains limited, affecting students’ comprehension. Cultural diversity is often taught conventionally, making it less interactive. This study develops a QR Code-based Pop-Up Book as a learning tool combining three-dimensional elements and digital technology. The Research and Development (R&D) method was applied using the ADDIE model (Analysis, Design, Development, Implementation, Evaluation). Experts validated the content, media, and language, while trials were conducted with fifth-grade students at SDN 160/IV Kota Jambi. Results showed high validity scores (91% content, 89% media, 93% language), with 90% practicality and 91.8% attractiveness. The QR Code-based Pop-Up Book effectively enhances students’ understanding and has strong potential for wider use in primary education.

Abstract

Early reading skills are essential for elementary students, yet many struggle due to unengaging methods and limited media support. This study examines the effectiveness of reading board media in improving first graders’ reading abilities. Using Classroom Action Research (CAR) based on the Kemmis & McTaggart model, the research was conducted in two cycles. Data were collected through observations, reading tests, interviews, and documentation, then analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. Results indicate significant improvement in students' reading skills. The first cycle increased students' interest and participation, while the second cycle enhanced fluency in reading words and simple sentences. The findings confirm that reading board media effectively boosts early reading skills and learning motivation. This interactive approach is recommended as an innovative literacy tool, supported by teacher training, parental involvement, and adequate facilities, to foster a more engaging and effective early reading experience.

Abstract

The Merdeka Curriculum addresses educational challenges in Indonesia by offering flexible learning and emphasizing character development. SD Negeri 194/VI Tambang Emas I has adopted this curriculum to enhance learning quality and align students with the Profil Pelajar Pancasila. However, challenges remain, including teacher readiness, parental involvement, and limited infrastructure. This study uses a qualitative case study approach, collecting data through observations, interviews with teachers and students, and document analysis. Data were analyzed using reduction, presentation, and conclusion techniques to understand implementation challenges and opportunities. The findings show that while the curriculum's flexibility enhances project-based learning, its effectiveness is hindered by a lack of teacher training and administrative burdens. Additionally, low parental engagement and inadequate infrastructure remain significant barriers. To ensure successful implementation, practical teacher training, stronger school-parent communication, and improved facilities are essential. Strengthening these aspects will help optimize the curriculum’s benefits for students

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the computational thinking skills of elementary school students. This research approach uses a qualitative and quantitative descriptive approach. The subjects of the study involved 70 fifth grade students at an elementary school in Malang City. The research instruments were in the form of observation sheets and tests, the data obtained were analyzed qualitatively and quantitatively. The results of the analysis of critical and computational thinking of elementary school students showed that computational thinking skills were still lacking, 35.4% and 54% for critical thinking. The recommendation from the research results is to make it a habit for elementary school students to continue practicing high-level thinking skills through the learning process and the use of learning devices based on high-level thinking skills.

Abstract

The primary objective was to enhance student engagement, learning outcomes, and motivation. The research was motivated by limited classroom learning time, low achievement levels, and students’ lack of enthusiasm, as well as challenges faced by parents in supporting online education. The study employed the Lee and Owens research and development (R&D) framework, which includes five main stages: needs analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation. For data analysis, the quantitative data (pre-test and post-test scores) were analyzed using descriptive statistics, particularly to measure the percentage of students achieving learning completeness. The findings indicated that the teaching materials achieved high validity (97% approval from subject matter and media experts), excellent practicality (97% approval from teachers and 92% from students), and strong effectiveness, with 87.5% of students achieving learning proficiency. The study concluded that the developed teaching materials are effective for classroom use, with recommendations for further customization to better align with student competencies.

Abstract

This study aims to analyze the implementation of the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme of coconut-based bioentrepreneurship at SDN Proppo 1 Pamekasan, increasing students' creativity and entrepreneurship through the STEAM approach in the Merdeka Curriculum. This qualitative descriptive study involved the stages of introduction, contextualization, real action, reflection, and follow-up in August–December 2024. Students were taught to make environmentally friendly soap from coconut. The results showed that the implementation of P5 succeeded in increasing students' creativity and entrepreneurial skills. The main supporting factors were local materials and facilitators, while obstacles were limited time and students' initial understanding of entrepreneurship. Reflection showed a positive impact on literacy and STEAM-based learning, as well as practical experience in entrepreneurship, with follow-up for the development of similar activities in the future.

Abstract

This study aims to examine the effect of the implementation of audio-visual learning media on the ability to write narratives of grade IV students at Bligo State Elementary School. The method used is quantitative with a pre-experimental research design of One Group Pretest-Posttest Design type. The sample of this study was all fourth grade students as many as 28 students. The instrument used was a narrative writing test based on six assessment indicators. The results showed that the average posttest score increased compared to the pretest, with the t-test results showing a significance of 0.000 (<0.05) and an eta squared value of 0.991 which showed a very strong influence. Thus, it can be concluded that the use of audio-visual learning media is effective in improving students' narrative writing skills. The use of this media can be used as an alternative to create a more interesting and interactive learning atmosphere.

Abstract

This study aims to develop a microsite-based learning media on the topic "I Love the Environment" for 1st grade elementary school students. The research method used is the Richey and Klein Research and Development (R&D) model, which consists of three stages: design, product development, and evaluation. The developed microsite product was declared very feasible based on expert validation results, with the following percentages: material experts 91%, language experts 96%, and media experts 92%. The trial results showed that this media is effective in providing convenience for teachers and students with an interesting, innovative, and interactive presentation. In addition, this media has been proven to improve student learning outcomes, as indicated by an increase in the average score from 50.3 (pretest) to 85 (posttest).

Abstract

The fading character of politeness and cooperation among elementary school students encourages the need for innovation in teaching materials. This research focuses on Canva and Heyzine-based digital teaching materials to strengthen character and citizenship education at SDN Pisangcandi 3. The aim is to analyze the effectiveness of teaching materials in improving students' character values. The case study method was used with data collection techniques through observation, interviews, document analysis, and questionnaires. Thematic analysis was conducted in three stages: data reduction, data presentation, and conclusion drawing. The results showed an increase in students' understanding of the value of politeness and cooperation through interactive and interesting digital teaching materials. However, there are challenges in optimization related to teacher skills and resource availability. In conclusion, the innovation of digital teaching materials is effective in shaping student character, with recommendations for teacher training for further effectiveness.

Abstract

This study examines the effect of Balinese culture-based Student Worksheets (LKPD) on fourth-grade students’ mathematics learning outcomes. Using a one-group pretest-posttest design, 30 students from SD Negeri 1 Kemenuh participated in the study. The LKPD was designed by integrating mathematical concepts with Balinese cultural contexts, such as traditional dances and architecture, to make learning more engaging and relevant. Data were collected through pretests and posttests. The results showed a significant improvement in posttest scores (t = 18.49, p < 0.05), indicating that cultural integration helps students understand mathematical concepts more concretely and boosts learning motivation. The findings suggest that culture-based LKPD can be an effective tool in elementary mathematics instruction. However, effective implementation requires the active role of teachers in connecting mathematical concepts with the local cultural environment of the students
