Abstract

The increase in shallot production is not followed by an increase in productivity. In this regard, productivity needs to be increased through fertilization using eco enzyme organic fertilizer and biochar which contain many important nutrients for soil fertility. This research used a Randomized Block Design (RBD) arranged factorially and had three replications. The first factor was the addition of Eco enzyme consisting of 3 levels, namely E0 = without addition of eco-enzyme, E1 = addition of 10 ml/l eco-enzyme, and E2 = addition of 20 ml/l eco-enzyme. The second factor was the concentration of biochar with 3 doses, namely B0 = without addition of biochar, B1 = addition of 15 tons/ha biochar, and B2 = addition of 20 tons/ha biochar. Some of the variables observed were plant height, number of leaves, diameter of tubers per cluster, number of tubers per cluster, wet weight of tubers, and dry weight of tubers. The results showed that the application of eco-enzyme affected the growth parameters of plant height and number of leaves as well as the results of dry weight of tubers per clump. The application of biochar affected the observation parameters of tuber diameter per clump, number of tubers, wet weight of tubers, and dry weight of tubers. The combination of eco-enzyme and rice husk biochar treatments has not shown a significant interaction effect on the growth and yield of shallots.Keywords: Shallots, Eco-enzyme, Biochar, Rice husk

Abstract

Telah dilakukan riset tentang pembuatan masker nano emulgel (peel off mask) berbahan dasar arang aktif tempurung lontar. Aktivasi arang aktif menggunakan 0,5M kalium hidroksida (KOH) selama 68 jam berukuran 65 mesh. Masker wajah yang sudah jadi diuji stabilitas (warna, aroma, tekstur, dan pertumbuhan jamur), pH, Elastisitas (waktu kering) dan dispersitas (daya sebar). Hasil yang diperoleh menunjukkan warna masker adalah hitam pekat dengan aroma yang serta tektur yang baik yang stabil pada siklus ke-5 (hari ke-5 suhu ruang). Pertumbuhan jamur terjadi pada hari ke-6 (siklus ke-6) dengan ciri-ciri jamur teridentifikasi jenis jamur kapang. Masker nano emulgel membutuhkan waktu 10-20 menit untuk mongering pada pH stabil= 6 dengan daya sebar 3-5 cm. komposisi terbaik dalam pembuatan masker wajah nano emulgel berbahan dasar arang aktif tempurung lontar adalah variasi 3 g. Dengan demikian, riset ini menghasilkan masker nano emugel sebagai anti acne yang bersifat elastis dan ramah lingkungan. Abstract

Citrus (Citrus sp.) is a strategic horticultural commodity with not only high economic value but also significant biodiversity that supports both conservation and breeding efforts. This study is motivated by the need to identify local citrus varieties that are adaptive to environmental changes and possess promising genetic potential. The objective of this research is to describe the vegetative and generative morphological characteristics of citrus plants within a biosprospection plot of selected species. A descriptive-explorative approach was employed through direct field observation of five local citrus varieties: limau nipis, limau kasturi, limau muncung, limau pagar, and limau mata kerbau. Morphological observations covered characteristics of leaves, stems, and fruits, documented through visual notes and photographic records. The results revealed significant phenotypic variation among the varieties, particularly in canopy shape, leaf morphology and color, presence of stem thorns, as well as fruit size, color, and taste. For instance, limau pagar exhibited thorny stems and deeply wrinkled fruit, while limau mata kerbau bore large, sweet, and refreshing fruits with broad leaves as a form of ecological adaptation. These findings highlight the role of biosprospection plots as natural laboratories for conserving genetic resources and selecting adaptive varieties. The study’s outcomes are expected to contribute to germplasm preservation and the sustainable development of local-species-based horticulture. Abstract

Alang-alang (Imperata cylindrica) and Saliara (Lantana camara) are dominant weeds in several crop cultivation areas, so that when control is carried out, waste from both weeds will be produced in large quantities. Management of waste from both weeds can be done by utilizing it as a more environmentally friendly bioherbicide. Bioherbicide application is carried out pre-growth so that control is carried out faster and attacks newly germinated weed seeds, so that weeds do not appear on the surface and weed control activities will be more efficient. Alang-alang is the most dangerous weed and is highly avoided because it contains allelochemical compounds that can inhibit the growth of the main plant, this compound is found in all parts of the weed but is found most in the roots. Saliara also has a high content of allelochemical compounds which causes a distinctive aroma from its leaves. The allelochemical content of both weeds can be used as active ingredients in bioherbicides and is effective in controlling other weed species. Several studies have reported that bioherbicide extracts from both weeds are effective in inhibiting weed growth so that they can be used as an alternative to herbicides. However, bioherbicide application must be carried out with the right technique and concentration so as not to interfere with and inhibit the growth of the main plant.

Abstract

Green mustard greens (Brassica juncea L.) are a type of horticultural plant that is widely cultivated in Indonesia. However, mustard greens production has continued to decline annually from 2020 to 2023. Efforts that can be made to optimize mustard greens production include increasing soil fertility by providing soil conditioners, such as rice husk biochar and chicken manure bokashi. This study aims to determine the provision of a combination of biochar and bokashi fertilizer that is good for increasing mustard greens' growth. This research was conducted in Sungai Janiah, Gunung Talang District, Solok Regency with an altitude of 490 meters above sea level from September to December 2024. The design used was Randomized Block Design (RAK) with treatments P0 = without organic fertilizer, P1 = 15 tons/ha Biochar (BC) P2 = 20 tons/ha Biochar (BC), P3 = 15 tons/ha Bokasi (Bok) P4 = 20 tons/ha Bokasi (Bok), P5 = 5 tons / ha biochar + 10 tons / ha Bokasi, P6 = 10 tons / ha biochar + 10 tons/ha Bokasi. The results of the research showed that the combination of 10 tons/ha biochar + 10 tons/ha Bokasi was significant on the parameters of plant height and consumption weight. Still, it was no significant on plant leaf width and number of leaves.
